Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had our wedding here and it was perfect. From start to finish the whole team were amazing. Heather and Susana went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly which meant we could relax and enjoy our day. The waiting team and bar staff did a brilliant job and the food was delicious. A special shout out to Oscar who, although a young lad, took it all in his stride and Poppy who went that extra mile (literally!) to help us. The penthouse suite to stay in was the icing on the cake. I would 100% recommend The White Horse Hotel, beautiful venue and fantastic staff.

A very impressive stay in this great historical building in the heart of Romsey, decorated and furnished to a high standard throughout. Attentive, friendly and efficient staff. Very good food at reasonable prices, overall one of the most comfortable, relaxing and best value stays we've had in a long time!

What a gorgeous out of the way property. Very different than staying next door in Southampton. Cobblestone streets , town center where the hotel is located. Many one of a kind shops in walking distance. The staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. The restaurant and lounge very cozy. This is more than we could hope fore in a spacious updated room in the Coach House. Hope to return for another stay!

We spent a few days at the White Horse for half term so we could explore the new forest and visit Paultons Park. Our family room was perfect, and the staff and food were excellent. Will be back if in the area again.

Excellent inn in Romsey with very friendly and welcoming staff and clean, smart bedrooms. I would thoroughly recommend it.I imagine the building is in a conservation area so there is no lift but the staff are very happy to carry the luggage to your bedroom. The breakfast was excellent. I had more problems with the dining as I was looking for a healthy dinner and apart from 2 salads I had no hot choice, vegetarian or otherwise. My family however happily munched their way through hamburgers, duck and steak. My cod had an elaborate sauce and accompanied by a deep fried onion bhaji. Apart from that this is a great place!

Lovely place to stay that has retained its character . Attentive staff comfortable rooms and great dining. Perfectly placed in the centre of town. So many lovely places to visit nearby such as the New forest, Mottisfont, Winchester and if you have young family Paulson park.

A lovely quaint and quiet hotel in the heart of Romsey. Well appointed and clean rooms, brilliant staff, excellent breakfast. The room we had was up to date (though the hotel is an old coaching inn), the room was clean. Good facilities (TV, radio, coffee pod machine).

Every aspect of this hotel was superb. The staff very helpful and the manager a great example of how to manage and also took over staff positions when busy. Food and table service were very good. Any faults? No👏. The most comfortable and relaxing two days we’ve had
