Stayed at the Peat Spade for the weekend with 5 friends for a catch-up and golf weekend. Excellent service and rooms. I was in a twin in the annex. Really comfortable and well decorated. Great coffee and the small fresh milk bottles in the fridge was a really nice touch. Food was fantastic. We eat there on the Friday night...

We had a lovely comfortable room, very clean good facilities. Good restaurant and great food. We did however have a problem. Everywhere was very cold and even though we had booked a table we were placed in a new annex, doors open and no heating, freezing. When we asked to be moved we were told to go in the bar!!!...

Our food was very good and the service friendly and helpful. Sadly both the bar area and restaurant were cold, the front door kept wedging partially open. It is November, switch on your radiators and fix your door.

We stopped off in The Peat Spade but hadn't booked. We asked for a table for two and were told quite abruptly and in a condescending tone that no tables were available and the tables that were booked were for two large parties. We did say that we were willing to sit outside in the beer garden and have our...

Having known the Peat Spade for the last six years I picked it as a place for supper post work with friends. I always look forward to going as the building is so beautiful and from the outside gives a feel good factor; pretty and inviting. Inside is cosy and well set up. Somehow I always come away feeling somewhat...

The Peat Spade is an attractive place in a nice setting with attentive staff. However, the place is being let down by a very dull menu and average quality food. I have eaten here twice in the past month and the menu was unchanged, with limited choice and the food not really up to much.

Not long back from a tour of the south which we do every couple of years and decided to share some of our experiences, decided to start with peat spade as it was the worst we had visited this time. Arrived early afternoon to check in and was greeted well should we say grunted at by a foreign lady if...

We stayed here as part of a group fishing, and whilst overall it was ok, that's about as far as you could go. All of the staff were really helpful and pleasant, and made the stay enjoyable. There is a choice of well kept ales and the wine list wasn't bad and represented good value for money. The menu is...

fabulous, warm and welcoming pub, excellent rooms with fair prices, good choice of drinks at the bar, with excellent staff. Breakfast was enough without over stretching your tummy! it allows dogs in bar so good for walkers with and without pets

The Peat Spade Inn is in the pretty and quiet village of Longstock not far from Stockbridge. A few miles up some windy country lanes this pub is worth the effort. Nice beer selection in a cosy bar plus excellent quality food in the pleasant and roomy restaurant. It's also got a great garden and rooms. Worth a visit.
