Popped into the bar for a light bite to eat on a brief visit to Lyndhurst on our way to the coast. Ordered a cranberry and bacon baguette which was adequate and reasonable priced, watered down with an IPA. Side order of chips. Quite pub but just after 12:00 so anticipated.

The room was tired and dated. Basically not what we expected for £95. On departure I got charge £200 for a handle that was already lose and ill fitted and a fob charge. The landlord never disguised with me therefore just told his staff to bill me via her text. I would of appreciated if this was discussed with me personally than mention in their policy which was never provided to me.

It's OK. Won't go again. Food, passable, just. Would have had better fish and chips going across the road to the takeaway. Hardly any wine choices. Beetroot salad, hunt the Beetroot! Roast dinner, dreadful. Service was good, atmosphere loud , furnishing, trying to be something it's not. Not our sort of place, went last minute to try it as its just been done up apparently. Other places are better.

Excellent! Rooms were comfy and clean , the food was excellent too. The owners and staff made us feel very relaxed and at home with our dogs. They were spoilt rotten and were given comfy beds , treats and shower / bath facilities after our muddy and wet walk ( hot and cold water too)! Will definitely come back

My husband and I were very impressed with this hotel. We stayed in one of the King rooms and were pleasantly surprised by the size and how clean it was. Free and easy parking too. There was some noise from the busy road so would recommend earplugs. Wendy was very accommodating and friendly and made us feel really welcome. The breakfast was really good as well and we had drinks in the bar in the evening. All in all a very good stay, especially for the money. Very good value and can't really criticise it at all. We will be back again.

We had an amazing time at the Stag Hotel for a couple of nights. The King Room was wonderful, very spacious , modern and warm. There was bottled water in the rooms and biscuits too which were both replenished daily. The staff were all really friendly and it all felt very cosy, special thanks to Wendy and Jake. The breakfast was excellent and the two evening meals we had there were brilliant too. There is a lovely garden outside which we did sit in but far better on a warm summer day. We have already booked to go back as we enjoyed our stay so much. As many hotels are now since Covid, It's dog friendly but none of the dogs there were any trouble whatsoever and you wouldn't have known they were present. Lyndhurst was lovely too and we hope to go for some longer walks next time when its not so 'Boggy' due to all the recent rain.…

Went for dinner. Very good home cooked food. More gastro pub style. Seabass with butternut risotto perfectly cooked. Still do pub classics too both large portions and nicely presented too. Service is good here too and the drinks prices are good for the area. Would return
