Its prime location, not far from Lyndhurst with ample parking, contributes to the hotel's appeal.

We had an amazing time at the Stag Hotel for a couple of nights. The King Room was wonderful, very spacious , modern and warm. There was bottled water in the rooms and biscuits too which were both replenished daily. The staff were all really friendly and it all felt very cosy, special thanks to Wendy and Jake. The breakfast was excellent and the two evening meals we had there were brilliant too. There is a lovely garden outside which we did sit in but far better on a warm summer day. We have already booked to go back as we enjoyed our stay so much. As many hotels are now since Covid, It's dog friendly but none of the dogs there were any trouble whatsoever and you wouldn't have known they were present. Lyndhurst was lovely too and we hope to go for some longer walks next time when its not so 'Boggy' due to all the recent rain.

Excellent hotel with lovely rooms that were even better than expected. Postcode for the car park is to be followed...you then enter via the dinning area of the bar...all perfectly ok. Super service as they "checked in" our car for the 2 nights so no need to bother again about that despite going off for the day etc. Lovely to see a small town hotel serving breakfast, with no requirement to pre order - when less than 2 mins walk from front of hotel a choice of places to dine and have breakfast. Bedroom huge...lots of little personal attentions than made it even better. A luggage rack would have been good but we managed fine without. Loved the ear plugs as our room was at the front...traffic noise could I imagine be an issue in warmer months. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

We had a lovely stay here on Friday night. The location is brilliant right in the centre of Lyndhurst and there is a large free car park at the rear. The staff were all so lovely and welcoming which I think made the stay even nicer. Breakfast was table service, a choice from a menu and cooked fresh to order, it was delicious and so nice to be waited on. We stayed in the Brockenhurst room which was perfect, had everything we needed and was lovely and quiet too.
In summary we would highly recommend this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate staying here again.
Also worth mentioning, we hired bikes from Billy’s bike hire situated in the car park near the visitor centre. Billy was very helpful and gave us a map with a choice of new forest cycling routes. We did a 20km bike ride which wasn’t too strenuous and mainly flat. Bike hire was a bargain £10 per day and that included helmets and a handy rucksack with bike repair kit and pump just in case.

Stayed here for a night as a gift from family but found the complete package so excellent that we will be returning. From the well proportioned car park through the excellent dinner and breakfast everything was all that could be expected. The room at the front of the hotel was quiet and comfortable, the bed extremely comfortable and any traffic noise non existent. Staff were friendly and approachable all with a smile but totally efficient and professional in every way. Food was all of the highest standard and where appropriate piping hot. I would recommend this hotel and I am sure that anyone staying would enjoy the same high standards.

This Hotel is a MUST if you are staying in Lyndhurst. I emailed the hotel to ask if we could get i at 11.30am as we were attending a wedding, that we had to be at for 12.30 - I got a reply saying they would see what they could do. We arrived on Saturday 16th September and decided to have breakfast. We went and told reception that we had arrived and that we were having breakfast and was told that housekeeping were just going into our room to make it up. We went for a little walk arriving back at 11.10.
On arrival back at the hotel we were told "your room is ready" and we were given the key.
The staff were very attentive, the bar and restaurant were lovely and the location is ideal.
Thank you The Stag for being absolutely marvellous - we will be staying again with you.

We were in room 11, top floor at the back overlooking the car park. No lifts. Quiet most nights except one night there was a band in the hotel next door.
Communication throughout has been excellent. We were advised they only had top floor, told no lifts and asked if still ok - it was. They did help with luggage. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely friendly atmosphere but not overbearing.
They catered well for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free diets with a really good cooked breakfast, oat or soya milk just ask. Sandwiches were good. Dinner had a few options.
Location is excellent - you park at the back of the hotel, large car park, we always found a space. You need to register your car when you book in - this was done as soon as we walked through the door, and another staff member checked later too. Walk out the front door and you are in the middle of the main Lyndhurst street, with shops and restaurants galore.
Lyndhurst is amazing for vegan options, with special mention to The Greenwood Tree Cafe, almost next door, for its vegan cream tea! There is also a Tesco Express less than a minute’s walk away.
The room has everything you need, TV, hairdryer, toiletries, even an extension socket. Bathroom looked recently refurbed. I’ve stayed in loads of hotels and this one was right up there.

We stayed for one night before our cruise from Southampton. The hotel is only 15 mins from Southampton and only 15/20 mins from Lymington. Great if you want the ferry over to the Isle of Wight. The rooms are above a pub but we didn't hear any noise from the pub even though Liverpool were playing and there were people in the beer garden and inside the pub. We stayed in the Lymington Room shown in the picture, the bed was one of the most comfortable I have stayed in. We had views over the Ferrari garage so my hubby could dream about his next car (he wishes). Staff lovely and very helpful when we needed covid certificates printing off. You pay extra for breakfast, my hubby had the full English and I had the yogurt with granola and fresh berries, both were beautiful lots of strawberries and blueberries. Tea coffee included and topped up when needed. Overall lovely stay would definitely stay here again. Note. Free parking at the back of the hotel, register your car on arrival.

I stayed in The Stag on 21st July for my final night of a walking tour around the South Coast and New Forest. It was without doubt the best hotel/B&B I stayed in. I was given a warm welcome on arrival and was shown to an excellent, spacious twin room with a fantastic walk-in shower. Spotlessly clean - it’s clear the owners have put a lot of time, money and effort into making guests enjoy a quality experience and they’ve succeeded. It’s ideally located on the High Street and if anyone is worried about noise, don’t be. Yes, the High Street is busy during the day but it quickly quietens during the evening. I had a really peaceful night’s sleep. I rarely leave reviews - the other places I stayed were good/adequate enough but The Stag was exceptional and fantastic VFM for the room rate. I’ll definitely be returning.

This is a lovely friendly hotel where the staff can't do enough to make your stay even better. It's a quaint old building with everything you could ask for; making our stay memorable. It was also unusual to find attached parking with charging facilities available. There's a comfortable bar with a selection offering something to suit everyone's tastes. During our stay there was live music, while others simply enjoyed the sport on large screens. The breakfast choice was very good with a presentation that would equal any 5 Star restaurant. Overall the atmosphere was warm and friendly with a family feeling that made us feel welcomed. A comfortable and relaxing place to destress. It was recommended by a gentleman who came to our home to look at the conservatory roof. Thanks to him, we had a super time there

We visited this lovely pub/hotel for a one night stopover in the new forest as a family pre Christmas break . We booked in for a Sunday lunch which was absolutely delicious in the lovely dining room. The young lady who took care of us was absolutely lovely, really helpful and accommodating , we felt like nothing was too much trouble . In fact all the staff were really great, super friendly and welcoming, despite the pub and restaurant being busy . We had 3 rooms booked for the night, each one was great, lovely size, super clean , and with lots of really nice touches to make you feel at home . We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return soon ! Thank you to everyone at the Stag for making our stay so good .

Hi, We stayed in room described as deluxe double which was lovely.
It was at the front of the build so there was traffic noise as you would expect but it is okay at night. From a brief chat with the owner I think most of the rooms are described as deluxe double.
There are more places to choose from in the Lyndhurst area.
