The Original White Hart by Marston's Inns is often celebrated for its warm and inviting atmosphere, despite some guests suggesting parts of the hotel could benefit from refurbishment. The establishment is considered a good value, with most travelers pleased by the clean rooms and affordable dining options. While the rooms are generally seen as comfortable, there are calls for updates and more space. Amenities like the pub receive positive remarks, yet guests have mentioned the need for better lighting and more power outlets. The service stands out, with the hotel's staff earning high praise for their welcoming and efficient manner. Cleanliness is another strong point, with the overall tidiness well-regarded, although minor updates in decor are recommended.

We stayed last weekend with our expectation set by the lovely photos of the rooms on the website. The rooms in the main building may be like this but most rooms are in the annexe at the back and are extremely small and very basic. It is not right to charge £100 for a £50 Room even on Easter holidays. Staff were very helpful with our bikes and breakfast was tasty and good value but don’t get put in the annexe out the back.

Popped in for a late lunch as it was one of the few places serving food at this time of day. It was the first time we had visited and my heart sank as we walked through the door. It was grubby and tired and we were just about to turn around and leave when a friendly chap behind the bar asked if we were ok, so we decided to stay and give it a try. The place was almost empty (apart from a couple of dodgy-looking characters and the food came quickly and was hot (microwaved?) and edible, but I wouldn't go back again I'm afraid. On the plus side, the toilets were immaculate! lol

It was fine. Stayed in room 9 downstairs in the alley. It was a big room with a decent sized bathroom. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable and plenty of pillows. Bathroom was a little dated but clean with a great shower. I always take plenty of toiletries so wasn’t bothered about lack of shampoo, soap etc. Being there on my own for work, I liked that I was in the annex and didn’t have to walk through the pub. Was a little disappointed that there was no food being served but the location is great, plenty of restaurants near by plus shops and 2 supermarkets so I went for a wonder instead. So all in all, yes the rooms are basic but clean, the location is great with free parking and it’s cheap.

I had to go to reception to ask for the bathroom to be cleaned on arrival. there were pubic hairs in and around the bath, the toilet looked like it hadn't seen a toilet brush in a long time and around the bath and wash hand basin were very grimy. The toilet and bath were cleaned but that was it The second day we were there the towels had not been changed although they had been left in the bath as instructed an the teabags and coffee had not been replenished. The third day we got back to the room at 7pm. The bed hadn't been made, there were towels left on the unmade bed and the wet towels were still in the bath. This pub is in a great location but really needs to up it's game regarding the rooms. The room was small but we only needed it to sleep in so that wasn't a problem to us. we gave up and went home rather than stay the third night we had paid for

Stayed at The Original White Heart Ringwood last night as a birthday treat from our son. We could see that the building was old on arrival and looked ok. However we were told that room (no 8) was a 'cracking' room we were absolutely shocked to see that it had a whole window missing and was boarded up with wood with gaping holes in it !! As it was a treat from our son we didn't want to make too much fuss and tried to make the best of it by closing the curtains. All the drawers had no handles on them they were all inside them which made them difficult to open. The bed was lovely and we slept ok. In the morning I had a shower which was ok for a few minutes then the water temperature suddenly shot up and scalded my back. When we made tea & coffee our cups we're absolutely filthy. We then went downstairs for breakfast the litter on the stairs was still there from the day before and when we were given a breakfast table it was still dirty from the night before. I'm not one to usually complain but I feel sorry for my son paying for something that was not true to what was advertised. If it was booked by ourselves we would of left.

Got to say it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Breakfast was disgusting, I had to ask for extra tea bags, decaf coffee, milk. Our bed wasn't made the first morning, when I asked why they couldn't tell me. I left 2 wet towels in the bath so I could have clean dry ones but once again I had to go downstairs and ask for a dry one I even had to ask for toilet paper. The room was so small we had to walk sideways to get into bed, no sockets next to the bed and the TV didn't work properly. Apparently we should have been told about the TV problem in our room. I ordered a lemonade and it was about 4.5 inches from the top of the glass. The receptionist told us we couldn't have Breakfast at 8am and had to wait until 8:30/9:00, as they had a large Breakfast party at 8. We came down at about 8:25 and the restaurant was empty except for 2 gentlemen sat at a table having breakfast. We ordered our breakfast and said NO BLACK PUDDING on either breakfast but they both came with black pudding. The sausage was tasteless and dry as was the bacon and hash brown. 1 tablespoon of beans, over cooked and cold plates. It was my birthday weekend and by the time Sunday morning came around I was upset as I was expecting a much better experience. I have worked in housekeeping in a hotel and if I didn't make the bed, do the towels, fill up on tea/coffee etc and leave the bedroom pristine I would have been fired. It isn't hard, for the money we paid I expected much better than we got. The only good thing was the young man, Tom, behind the bar on Saturday. He was brilliant and deserves praise.

The food at the 'original white hart' is by far the worst we (9 guests) have ever eaten.
The menu reads well and seems good value for money, but it is far from it.
Ordered a 'share' portion of chicken wings, asked for them to be in sweet chilli sauce. Came out in no sauce, so over cooked the bones where near black and consisted of 7 chicken wings, who can share that amount? For £7.95??
Others had burgers so dry they could break glass if thrown at a window, nachos came out with Guacamole going grey and generally disgusting and was charged £5 for pulled pork and chilli to go on top, there wasn't enough for 5 scoops of a nacho.
Fish and chips was another order and that was tasteless and sorry looking.
All in all, do not bother eating, pop in for a fairly decent priced drink but walk on, there are some fantastic places to eat in ringwood, this most definitely isn't one of them

I have paid nearly  £300 for a 3 night stay the room we have been provided  room 16 is so small and not what is shown in the photographs on website,  however  this is a minor problem  in relation to other issues. the room is disgusting and dirty in the bathroom with bath and toilet that look uncleaned for a long time also a bathroom with no toilet roll or soap so unhygienic as well the sink is filthy and does not have a plug that fits it, these issue are obviously ones that have been raised before as unfortunately we were made aware after booking that people had already  complained on trip advisor. On top of this we have a room that does not lock or unlock  properly due to misaligned  door catch  and in raising this was told I need to lift the door with a large  force to enable  the door catch to work, this is not suitable  for someone  like myself who has an arm injury and is finding just locking my hotel  room door to be an obstacle that should not occur.  We also have a television with no remote and a tv  that is so thick with  dust on the back that it looks like a health hazard and this is in conjunction with having a litter bin in the room that was already filled with someone else's  rubbish when we arrived. finally the room is so hot that it has been nearly impossible to sleep well there is a fan but it is totally

This hotel has a great location... at the front! to the rear of the building where our room was.. not so great! We had a great view of super noisy car wash, ok they had tried to hide it with a fence but more of the fence was missing than actually there! The staff were all friendly and helpful and dinner was served quickly! I have to say we were expecting the food to be a considerable amount better than it was its great if you like microwave meals but I would avoid if you are expecting any better! The room was cosy and functional but it hadn't been cleaned to a very good standard at all considering we are in the middle of a global pandemic! We had a half used toilet roll, dirty mirrors, the kettle was left half full and uncleaned, we were given a little box with tea and coffee in but we didn't want to use the tea bags as they were given to us loose and unwrapped! the curtain was hanging off and the lamp was broken

We stayed at Original White Hart at Ringwood for two nights, on our second night at approximately 9:00pm there was a leak in our room. The water was coming from the ceiling and fire detector above the bed dripping all over the bed and onto the bedroom floor. After altering a staff member it took over an hour to rectify in which we was told there was no room available for us to move too, so had to stay in the room with the leak in. By morning the room smelt of damp really badly. A really nice and helpful member of staff named Mark did his best to solve the problem as the manger didn’t bother to try resolve the problem. Was offered a refund in the morning however the manger was extremely rude did not apologise or make eye contact at all.
