We spent 3 nights at The Riverside for our honeymoon in August. It was the perfect place for relaxing and unwinding with absolutely delicious food! The Sunday roast was the best we have ever had. We stayed in the Covenhope garden room which was lovely and secluded, we had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and attentive, thank you to George in particular for making it such a smooth and pleasant stay. The area is great for walking.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay in the Yatton room in the main building. The room was very comfortable, with good quality bedding and toiletries and nice touches like homemade biscuits and fresh milk in the fridge rather than plastic UHT pots! The service from George and his team was so relaxed and efficient and the food was delicious with a real focus on sustainability, locally produced and minimising waste. They have a kitchen garden which produces a lot of their vegetables and some pigs and chickens too. The area is great for walking and there are lots of beautiful villages nearby including the ‘black and white village drive’

As locals to the area we have visited The Riverside on numerous occasions and always delighted with the food and service, this is why we choose them to host our mums surprise 60th birthday party. From the initial enquiry through to the event itself, the garden room we stayed in overnight to the breakfast the next morning every single aspect was perfect. The front of house team were fantastic, George the general manager is superb and I don't think anyone could ask more from him, he leads his team with humour and complete professionalism. The buffet served was delicious; varied, seasonal, appealingly set out, filling and all dietary requirements catered for (ordered in advance). Service through out was top notch, with plates cleared quickly and all the staff checking in with guests to see if anyone needed anything. Really so grateful for this. The Riverside is a busy village restaurant/pub well deserving of any recognition it gets - the efforts towards being green are noticed throughout, with bamboo loo roll, minimal wastage (place your breakfast order before you go to bed) and a lovely well maintained kitchen garden just a few steps away from the garden bedrooms. We stayed here for a couple of nights for my birthday and absolutely loved it. The staff are amazing, the rooms are beautiful and the food is fantastic! Couldn’t fault anything. Nothing is too much trouble, they even changed all the bedding on request for non-feathered bedding. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet, with fresh milk and cold water in the fridge and an assortment of quality tea/coffee, even home-made biscuits 🍪. The garden terraces are lovely if the sun is shining. We didn’t have lunch there but did have evening meals there - the chef is amazing! The best roast chicken we’ve ever had - we will definitely be back 😊

The hotel is definitely not a standard chain every room is different and a little quirky! However, all are excellently finished and spotlessly clean. The food is of a Michelin starred standard and the breakfasts are individually made for you and really set you up for the day. However, in saying all of this I have missed the best part which is the people front and back of house who are so helpful even when they don’t need to be offering to carry suitcases or take photos you get the feeling that they are not just acting out a role but really do care!! A special shout out to George who was excellent from when we arrived until we left. What an amazing place nestled in the Hereford countryside!

For three years running we have had a 4 night stay at, "The Cob @ Montpellier" (not on TA, so no review). And had a delightful Meal at the, Riverside Inn. A lovely location, great food, sensible prices and perfect service. Duck and Chicken this time, followed by a shared Sorbet and Meringue creation - delightful. And great Coffee. Served on a small tray with separate small jug of cold milk and two squares of fudge. The Loos, are top class if a little confusing. Unless female one is obliged to head for the "Accessible Toilet" as there are only urinals in the Gents... Hayling Seagoon

Lovely Inn in beautiful village with friendly, helpful staff and delicious cooking. We stopped with friends overnight walking the Mortimer Trail. The rooms are contemporary smallish cabins with very good ensuite showers in the garden. The food is outstanding.

Wow wow wow. Thank you for such an amazing stay. We had one of the garden pods (not sure what they’re called!) and it was just perfect for us. The bed and pillows were probably the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on and I will be writing to find out where they are from. The food was absolutely exceptional, we had lunch and breakfast there and everything was just delicious. We also enjoyed sitting by the river and exploring the small holding as well as the walk along the river. We’re already looking at when we can come back. Highly recommend

Stayed here for 4 nights in one of their garden rooms. Our lodge was spacious & well equipped, the bed was extremely comfortable. There was a roomy bathroom with an excellent shower. Outside there was a nice private area where we could sit & enjoy the peace & quiet of the countryside. Breakfast was great every day, plenty of choice and cooked to order. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals in the evenings. The hotel has a lovely ambience, the staff are really great & all in all we had a very relaxing & enjoyable 4 night stay
