Stayed here a few nights, stayed in the 'Harrys' building though... The rooms were dirty, stained bedsheets and curtains. Had a meal one night and you could 100% tell they were frozen. I had the Sunday dinner and the roast potatoes weren't crispy as they were warmed up. The pillows were comfy though.

We made a last minute stop here as it was easier to get to the Watford Colosseum (£8 by taxi) and stay over. It's a pretty laid back check in - one of the bar staff give you your key when they're free from serving. We stayed in the Whippendell room which was just off the staff room - so...

The food was excellent. Served hot. Reasonable prices. Fairly good menu including veggie options. Friendly chatty staff. Bar and restaurant was scruffy and grubby. Floor is very dirty. Our evening meal table still had our used glasses, dirty napkins and not wiped the following morning when we came down for breakfast. Car park is full of pot holes and some...

I took my family to the restaurant for lunch on Boxing Day. We were welcomed by the staff and asked if we could wait as our table wasn't quite ready. We asked if the log fire could be lit as it was a bit chilly, and the staff went out of their way to get it going for us. We...

We stopped off at the Kings Lodge for a coffee break on the way back from visiting family. We met Clive (the owner) setting up for boxing day parties and rather busy but he made us a pot of coffee and gave us a plate of mince pies. It was rather lovely of him considering they weren't actually open for...

This so called hotel is nothing but a noisy pub! We were not informed that a function would be blaring away until after midnight. The noise was so loud that the room vibrated! The dingy corridor to the rooms was littered with filthy mattresses and the room had cobwebs. Disgraceful, should not be allowed to call itself a hotel. No...

The meal, in the bar area, was potentially a great experience. The Camembert arrived and was excellent. This was followed with a query, obviously before we were finished with the cheese if we were done as our main was 'under the grill' because the chef was finished for the night. This was a little concerning because we had ordered an...

I really liked this hotel. The room was clean, bed was comfortable - not sure if I could manage those stairs to the bathroom if I'd been out for a couple of drinks though :) Breakfast was lovely and reasonably priced. No more than 5 mins drive to the Harry Potter tour so really conveniently located for that. I would...
