I really liked this hotel. The room was clean, bed was comfortable - not sure if I could manage those stairs to the bathroom if I'd been out for a couple of drinks though :) Breakfast was lovely and reasonably priced. No more than 5 mins drive to the Harry Potter tour so really conveniently located for that. I would... More

The beer was excellent but the room was not very clean and the toilet seat was broken which made it difficult to use. Also we would have liked to stay for breakfast but it's not served until 9am which is much too late for us

Stayed in the Kings Lodge for a night before going to the Harry Potter Studio Tour nearby. Good location if you are visiting the tour, 20-30 minute walk away if you're up to it. The place itself was cosy if a slightly crooked house, would have been nice to be shown to our room however by the looks of things... More

Booked 5 months in advance a room for 3, dinner in the hotel and breakfast the next day. Contacted the owner a few days before to confirm the evening meal time. Reply: there is a private function so you can't eat at the hotel. No apology. Room: dog hair all over the floor, filthy/mouldy bathroom, hole in the window, heating... More

Not what we were expecting after having paid in advance and then directed to a door and told it's up there. That was the hight of the customer service and we then found total unacceptable accommodation for today's standards of budget hotels. The Premier Inn would be seen as the ritz compared to this and faulty towers heaven. Total disorganised... More

Loved this hotel as soon as we arrived, the lady who checked us in gave us a really friendly welcome. For £50.00 per night you get what you pay for, yes the rooms aren't modern but they are still comfortable. Hotel and bar staff really friendly and the owner, what can I say about him, funny helpful, he even offered... More

The key to enjoying this historic hotel and appreciating its plus points is remembering that it offers fantastic value for money from around £50 a night for a double room only. All the essentials were spot on : a very comfy bed, crisp white sheets, lashings of hot water, modern, clean fittings in the bathroom, a lovely bar area with... More

My friends and I were blown away by the Kings Lodge! I swear it was just like staying upstairs in The Leaky Cauldron itself!!! Clive and the team couldn't have been more helpful in ensuring we had a great stay. We decided to treat ourselves to breakfast the next morning and it was amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again,... More

I booked this Hotel expecting to stay in this hotel unfortunately we were taken down the street along a dirty alley into a back yard with a front door. the door led upstairs into a very narrow corridor with 3 rooms off it. It was dark dingy and not up to in my opinion health and safety standards. The rooms... More

This is a very quirky hotel, built in the 1600's. The owner is great and very helpful but if you have a complaint don't tell the staff go direct. Food is not bad accommodation is interesting. We had a toilet seat that didn't fit and complaining to staff didn't help when we saw the owner the following day as we... More
