Went for a Sunday carvery whilst on holiday. Lovely food, lovely staff and a really nice setting. Would highly recommend. Would not hesitate to return. Would actually like to try the mid week menu which looked excellent.

What a fantastic pub, the way a pub should be.. Met a mixed age group of friendly locals who were very welcoming so it made a trip to the pub on my own whilst away with work very enjoyable. I even enjoyed a game of Quoits which I never knew existed but with the help of some great characters I...

Really enjoyed my beer in relaxed dog friendly environment - a nice cosy feel and a good set of locals filling the bar. To top it off the food was great. Thai food cooked really well. I had spring rolls and spicy chicken noodles and ate the lot. Perfect retreat after a day hiking.

It looks like the inns on the Offa's Dyke Path are having trouble to stay in business. That's a shame, because they are really belong to the villages. And this one is actually on the path. We had a nice stay in this one. The room wasn't very big, but comfortable with a nice shower opposite to it. We recommend...

Hi there! Thanks for your review however, I think you got this Royal Oak confused with another Royal Oak near by. Only because we don't have Lamb Shanks on our menu and we haven't for a while. And plus you mention 'it's a shame that pub on the Offa's Dyke are struggling' - whereas we aren't. Maybe this review was...

We were staying in Kington and on Saturday evening, couldn't find anything in town that appealed. We had walked past the Royal Oak earlier so called in . We received a warm and friendly welcome. The menu was a real surprise, a range of world foods but not the usual lasagne or curry. Interesting dishes from Greece, Cuba, Spain amongst...

Every time we go to Herefordshire we make at least one visit to the Royal Oak.The young manager/barman is so welcoming, friendly and helpful and now the food has been sorted by Jake everything is rosy-the way one feels in the warm, friendly, locals filled bar. Also the food is rustled up with such speed! We always eat in the bar, sitting by the fabulous...

After arriving at the royal oak, after hearing some good comments we were really looking forward to somewhere new for Sunday lunch. The selection of vegetables were lovely {plenty of choice} but the processed meat option was of poor quality. After being shown the pudding menu by the lovely staff we opted for the zesty orange pudding, if your thinking...

What a pub! As soon as we walked through the door we was made welcome. The bar staff were very talkative and friendly. There was a good selection of real ale on offer. The HPA was amazing. Can't wait to go back and try it again. We had a lovely steak on Steak Night and it was cooked to perfection....

A Shambles?? I think not. Yes we had a problem with that letting that occurred that day. And as it was Sunday it was not possible to get an engineer out to sort out the problem so we sorted out a room for you at The Swan. The owners of the swan needed to pop out but you wasn't willing...

Traditional pub, real fire, real locals and a friendly welcome. The rooms are fine and the breakfast very good. We had dinner in the pub and can recommend the home made spag bol. A good choice of well kept ale. Perfect for walkers.
