we stayed here whilst walking Offas Dyke.
A beautiful family home where the guests are made to feel very welcome by the hosts. Tea and cake on arrival taken in the mature, beautiful garden. The rooms were spacious, clean and welcoming.
The cooked breakfast was excellent with plenty of home produce to supplement the meal all served in the family dining room.
I would be very happily stay here again.

Walking Offas Dyke I called in on spec as a very wet and bedraggled customer with dog. The hosts could not have been more welcoming or hospitable .
I was given a very spacious comfortable and immaculately clean room with a pot of tea and home made cake . They showed me the bathroom which had one of those good old fashioned deep iron baths to soak away my sore body in.
The place has that warm homely old world feel to it which can be quite rare nowadays. What a great find !

Despite looking like drowned rats, we were warmly welcomed, and all wet clothes, shoes, rain-covers, etc hung over and near the Aga. This ensured that everything was nicely dry this morning.
Our room was elegantly appointed and very comfortable. A house full of books always makes us feel better!
Breakfast this morning was a treat, with homegrown stewed fruit and preserves.
We're sure that our stay at Church House helped us to get through a tough, wet day on Offa's Dyke.

A pleasure to stay with Andrew and Lis- a quirky beautiful house with roll top bath and damask curtains, breakfast of home made jams, marmalade, cherries like plums and strawberries like apples, sourdough bread, good strong coffee and Earl Grey and a strong culture of warmth, humour and welcome. Cake and teabon the lawn after our visit to Hergest Croft. Nothing was a problem- smelly walkers gear was washed and returned with a smile. Loved it here- can we stay for a week next time?

We had an exquisite time staying at the church house. I loved the two hosts and wished I could have stayed longer to get to know them better. Our favorite part was upon eating the pumpkin bread we were offered, Andrew asked if we’d like more. We looked at each other, clearly wanting more but weren’t sure if it was socially acceptable to get it. Immediately sensing that hesitation, he said yes, you clearly want more. Apart from that the place is close to town and the old church. It has a really nice garden with tulips that were in full bloom. Breakfast featured a black current jam that was incredible as well as fresh rhubarb both from the garden. Other highlights include a comfortable bed, lots of books (like a full library’s worth), and bird paintings on the wall. It was our favorite stop on the trip.

My brother-in-law and myself stayed here recently during our Offa's Dyke walk. Andrew was very welcoming and within a few minutes of our arrival we were drinking tea and eating cake on the patio kindly served by Andrew. This is a fantastic property and it was a privilege to be able to stay there.

As we walked along Church Road we saw a beatiful Georgian house, covered in wisteria
Then realised it was where we were staying. A very warm welcome from Lis, served tea and date and walnut cake in their idyllic garden. Sumptuous bedroom and separate claw-foot bath. A whole library of books to choose from. Delicious breakfast and warm farewell. You will be hard put to find better than this

My fiancé and I stayed here for one night on a flying visit to scout out a local wedding venue, and everything about our brief stay at Church House was perfect. Our room was large and super comfortable, the bed was fabulous and I would have needed to stay for at least a week to work my way through the huge bookcase full of interesting-looking titles. The breakfast was lovely, we were served apple juice made from the apples grown in Church House's stunning garden which was completely delicious, the jam and marmalade was home-made too which I loved.
Liz and Andrew were so kind and attentive, even fetching dog-towels for us when we returned from a rainy walk on Offa's Dyke with our two dogs completely plastered in mud!
Definitely stay here if you are visiting the area, the owner's love for their beautiful house is evident in every aspect of the B&B experience.

Stayed here for one night, having walked the Offas dyke trail from Hay on Wye. We had a very friendly welcome from our hosts, Andrew & Lis, who provided tea & cake for us in their gorgeous sitting room on arrival. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was served in the dining room overlooking the impressive gardens. We opted for a traditional breakfast which featured homemade apple juice, rhubarb & preserves from the garden. Andrew provided lots of information regarding the local pubs and eateries. We really enjoyed our stay here.
