Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely location, welcoming and personal front of house service. Best bit was the pool and sauna so given this was included this was great value. The room was nice and clean, we’re too used to premier inn so the mattress and pillows were too soft for my sensitivities but it was quiet. Bar food was ok so can’t comment on the restaurant quality. But overall a lovely friendly experience and we will be back to spend more time at the fascinating museum

Fantastic hotel. Great food. The Omelette is incredible. Fresh and full of flavour. Amazing team members. Nothing was to much for them. A quaint bar with Football. Clean rooms. Spa and swimming pool are amazing. What more could you ask for?

This is our second stay, the first wasn't such a great experience. We were in a different room & area of the hotel On arrival the room was very cold ( it had snowed that day) all the radiators were turned off, we worked out this was the issue and turned them on, we were soon cosy & quiet. We also had to ask for more toilet roll and batteries for the T.V remote control. We dined in, food was acceptable and this was the same at breakfast. The choice is basic and boring. We used the spa/pool and enjoyed. My conclusion, the Burton is a dated hotel, with a traditional and quaint charm. However staff are friendly, the welcome warm, room for improvement but overall we did enjoy our stay.

We only stayed for 2 nights, but would certainly stay again if visiting the Cotswolds/Brecons/Wye Valley. Lovely welcoming staff, friendly and helpful, spotless and spacious family room and nice to have a full size 3rd person bed for our 6' teenage son! Delicious meals in the restaurant and bar, and the pool was a lovely bonus. Special mention to the lovely Mac-may the pigs be with you ;D

We originally booked to stay for one night, but due to flooding we were stranded and so checked in for a second night. The staff were so helpful and friendly, both at the hotel and at the spa reception. They were really busy with other guests in the same position as us, but still made time to show my daughter how to make a towel into a swan! The food in the restaurant was delicious - highly recommended. Lots of vegetarian options. The room was clean and, although not the most modern I've stayed in, was perfectly nice. The pool and gym were really great. We made good use of both during our stay.

My partner and I had a lovely one night stay between Christmas and New Year. Staff were very attentive, polite and friendly. The room (Deluxe Double) was spacious and beyond what we expected, for once my partner couldn’t even moan about the shower - the pressure and temperature was spot on! The use of the pool and spa facilities at Cloud 9 being included in the price of the room and with no need to book in advance is a great extra. We will definitely book again.

Stayed here with family as we were attending a funeral being held in the function room. We had a triple room which was very comfortable and clean. There was a bath and shower which keep us all happy. We ate in the restaurant and again the food was delicious and well presented. Breakfast was lovely and the staff friendly will definitely stay again

Absolute pleasure staying at this hotel. Booked as we were visiting family, check in really easy, popped into reception when we arrived just to let them know our car was parked whilst we went off, no issues. Returned later to fully check in and was met by the wonderful “Will” on duty manager, who couldn’t do enough he even carried our overnight bag for me. Fully explained the hotel workings. Bar staff very efficient and friendly. Amazed at how many locals in the bar obviously very welcoming because locals always know where to go! Breakfast nicely presented, plenty of choice served by a very friendly member of staff. Suggestions 1) maybe consider changing the hairdryer, I have short hair, took an age to dry. 2) Consider putting up handrail for the bath/shower.
