My daughter and I stayed for one night to break up a long journey, we arrived after 10 at night and received a relaxed warm welcome. Budget room was everything you could expect for the price, comfy, warm, clean. The mill and it's surroundings are beautiful.... Just wish we'd had a little longer to enjoy it. Breakfast ( and night...

Can't recommend this enough!!! Went today for the first Winter Afternoon Tea and it was amazing. My husband was in absolute dessert heaven (Black Forest brownies and chocolate pots were to die for) and for me the scones and the wild boar sausage roll were gorgeous...

Needing to catch an early flight from Stansted Airport we booked rooms at Little Hallingbury Mill, not really knowing what to expect, considering the relatively inexpensive room charges. The rooms are small, even tiny by some standards, but very cosy and clean. Some will have views to the picturesque narrowboats just outside the hotel. But what makes this hotel stand...

If you want somewhere with soul, stay here. Set in beautiful surroundings, great host, delicious food and very comfortable beds and above all clean. The price was very fair, we had a lovely time. We will back to have walk along the canalside and try the bistro soon, without a doubt... All in all a very pleasant stay, highly recommend !!...

This place is the pits. Check in joke probably due to young staff wanting to get home for Xfactor. No numbers on door only guessed as key fitted. TV not working rung to ask only told sorry do not have an answer. Toilet door would shut with the aid of a sledgehammer. Cups and spoons maybe washed daily maybe clean...

It is interesting that you have felt the necessity to re-write your review and now making personal remarks about us and our staff which is unnecessary. To respond once again -'Check in joke' - The lady who checked you in treated you courteously as we would any other guest checking in. She certainly wasn't in a rush to get home...

Miranda and Richard planned, organised and hosted my 60th birthday celebrations. What a fantastic night. Nothing was a problem for them and some good fun and suprises were exactly what was required. It was exactly what I wanted and I could not have asked for more. And they did us a good breakfast. Yes they are busy renovating and updating...

I was really looking forward to this stay, as it sounded fantastic after checking in and being shown to my room I was disappointed in how tired and a little on the grubby side but got the impression on check in that a decorating programme was under way. Quickly got changed for something to eat, the food was good and...

Very clean and proprieter very friendly. Bathroom a bit small but as we were staying for one night only it did not matter.Bed was comfortable and spotless. Breakfast was very good with a choice of Full English or cereals. It is a good stopover for Stanstead airport.

We stayed at Little Hallingbury Mill for 2 nights while visiting Bishops Stortford. It's a beautiful old mill across the river in stunning countryside. The owners were so friendly and helpful. We had the top floor room that overlooks the canal. The room is very cute and the bed extremely comfy. The only downside was the tiny bathroom which was...
