We stayed for one night and the room itself was large and quiet and the view through the beautiful windows was lovely. However, the general style of the hotel needs an overhaul. Fake flowers everywhere and no fire in any of the grates either, in the reception area or in the dining room (where they had a small fake fire instead) when it would have been welcoming and in keeping with the style of the place. As a result there is no atmosphere. It is a beautiful old house with enormous character which needs to be reflected in the way the place is decorated. The people working there are very nice and this is not a reflection on them but hopefully they will make some changes.

Visited today for lunch out with my husband and mother and father in law. We ate in the blue room restaurant. Lovely place, really friendly staff. The place is decorated to high standard. The menu's were a little rustic. But I feel this place is still putting finishing touches together. Don't let that put you off though. The food is amazing. I had the steak and kidney pudding. Nice pastry, light and not a soggy bottom in sight. And the desserts. If you go, try the apple crumble and custard. So good I forgot to take a picture of any of it, to busy getting stuck in. This is place you might not find by accident. Bit it is well worth a visit, and if you like your custard as much as I do don't be afraid to ask of a bigger jug. They are very accommodating.

I discovered this hotel by accident. I stay away often on business. I have stayed here for one night, for the first time and it is a delight. I arrived early evening , in the dark down a narrow country lane. Don’t be put off - it’s worth the drive to discover a large country house - set in grounds which are large and attractive. There are large vistas looking over open land. I wasn’t able to enjoy them myself - it is very misty today - but I was kindly shown photos of the views which can be seen looking south in particular. I received a very warm welcome - the reception area is something to behold and the period features, including the magnificent staircase, are amazing. The property is dressed brilliantly with lots of ornamental pieces complementing the atmosphere of bygone elegance. My description doesn’t do it justice - come and see for yourself. The food is home cooked and delicious. Not a wide menu but everything I had was lovely. Although this was my first visit, I felt at home - the hotel has a lovely atmosphere- I shall certainly be back. The cost of staying is very reasonable and excellent value. If you value authenticity, grandeur, warm and friendly service and a place with character to match - I can recommend Longworth Hall Hotel to you very highly.

Absolutely lovely small Country House Hotel in a delightful setting. The evening meal was delicious and lots of choice including vegetarian and vegan options. The wine list was small but catered for all tastes and very reasonably priced. The staff were helpful and friendly and we will definitely return when we are next in the UK.
