Set in 26 acres, formerly an award-winning 8 bedroom guest house, Chale Bay Farm has been converted to provide three lovely self-catering holiday apartments plus stand-alone double bedroom and a shared Gym and Sauna as well as extensive lawns, gardens and a paddock. Chale Bay Farm has panoramic sea views to the Needles and the chalk cliffs of Tennyson Down, providing an idyllic and tranquil setting for your holiday, but at the same time is within easy reach of the whole Island and all of its attractions. The peaceful setting make us a perfect hideaway for romantic breaks and long weekends, - a special place to stay while you explore the numerous activities on the Isle of Wight or just relax. We welcome short breaks, family getaways and seaside holidays. Note that since 2018 we are no longer a Guest House and no longer serve breakfast - we only offer self-catering holiday apartments.

My friends and I have stayed at Chale Bay for the past few years, and will continue to do so as long as they will welcome us! The rooms are spacious and well equipped for self catering. The views are stunning and it’s oh so peaceful. There is plenty of dedicated off road parking there too - enough to park a bus or 6! With current Covid restrictions in place, Steve and Charlotte continue to operate as normal as possible, although there are understandable changes made, such as an earlier check out and a later check in. This is to allow rooms to be adequately cleaned and sanitised between guests. If you don’t feel like cooking, the Wight Mouse opposite is heartily recommended, and there are other restaurants a short drive away. An amazing location we can’t wait to return to!

Glad you made it to stay despite COVID in one of the windows when we were allowed to be open. We hope things will be back to normal for your stay in 2021!

We stayed here in the Needles View cottage for a week. We were me and my 19 month old son and my parents. We also had the adjoining room for them and my son and I slept in the main cottage. It was fantastic! The rooms were spacious and really nicely decorated (though you could tell they were mid renovation) and the mezzanine bedroom was really great for my son to sleep in. The air con was great and I can imagine would have been so useful a few weeks before. The kitchen was well stocked with essential equipment. Only a couple of things to think about though if you are travelling with young children 1) the living / dining area is completely carpeted with new cream carpets. They are lovely, but you might want to take plastic sheet to put under any high chairs. My son isn't too messy but I would have been so worried had we not had that. 2) the travel cot only has the basic matress so you might want to bring another one so it is more comfortable. Other than that, great and we will come back for sure.

Thank you for our first review since we changed from a guest house to holiday apartments. We're glad you enjoyed your stay. The plastic sheet is a good idea - we will look to provide alongside high chairs. Other than the gardens that are still settling down since the new landscaping (which has been tricky since that came just ahead of almost two entire months with no rain), the rennovations are complete, though we chose to leave the woodwork in the rooms unaffected by the building work with woodstain as opposed to the more modern gloss white finish. I think based on your feedback we will turn the older bits white in the low season as it was't our intention to think it was unfinished!

The full English breakfast was amazing! They catered really well for our daughter (under two) with high chair and children's cutlery/plate/bowl. Though we took our own travel cot one was offered to us. Stunning to wake up to gorgeous views up the cost in a peaceful location.
