We mark them out of 1 0 and without any hesitation, we would give Rockstone Cottage 10/10 on each point.
We only stayed for 2 nights but were made to feel very welcome by Matt and Denise and we came away knowing we had achieved all of our objectives and with a huge smile on our faces.
As keen Mountain Bikers, the location of Rock Cottage is ideal for the Tennyison Trail and all the various cycle paths which interlace the Island
Whenever we visit the IoW again, we will stay at Rockstone Cottage - no question

Having stayed in many B&B’s, ranging from excellent to dire, we are delighted to say we’d rate Rockstone Cottage in our top 3 for comfort, cleanliness, quality of breakfast and friendly personalised hospitality from Denise and Matt. We particularly enjoyed the choice at breakfast, with quality ingredients, including fresh fruit salad, and ‘Mum’s Marmalade’ .
Our top recommendations for walks in the area are to Alum Bay over Headon Warren; from the Needles along Tennyson Down to Freshwater Bay; through Afton Nature Reserve and along the old railway line between Freshwater and Yarmouth. We also enjoyed visiting the recently restored walled garden at Farringford House – good value at £4.
For excellent food and friendly service we liked Dimbola Lodge Tearooms (Freshwater Bay) and The Wheatsheaf Pub in Yarmouth.
We definitely hope to return to Rockstone Cottage and do some more of the beautiful walks straight from their doorstep

We stayed at this property for a week in late September. The location is perfect, close to the beach and boardwalk along the coast, with a couple of nice restaurants within walking distance. The B&B is cosy, we had a superior room at the top of the house, which was very quiet with no neighbour noise noticeable. The breakfast was fabulous, fresh ingredients and first class. The hosts Matt and Denise are very welcoming and helped us with planning visits to local pubs and attractions. The property is being gradually updated, and finishing touches to the facilities will make it from very good to great.

We booked our stay very last minute as a replacement for an CV19 aborted trip to Crete.
However we really feel that we lucked out. Matt and Densie made is feel very welcome, the B&B is in a great location, quite and only a very short walk to Colwell and Totland bays where there are a couple of good restaurants to go to for meals and drinks in the evening and watch the sunset over the sea.. The room we had was very comfortable and the breakfast in the morning excellent, plenty to set you up for the day !
We had great weather while we were there and so found it perfect location to do some the coastal walks directly from the B&B. The walk along to Alum bay and on to the Needles and finally over Tennison down with circle back to the cottage is a great day out in fine weather if you are up for the 8 mile round trip !

We really enjoyed our stay at Rockstone. Denise and Mark were just great. The room was perfectly clean and well appointed. The breakfast was excellent and they certainly know how to cater for my wife's gluten free diet - well done indeed. Rockstone comes thoroughly recommended.

I was nervous coming here because I’m very allergic to mold and I have reactions to more than 50% of hotels, and this B&B is in very old building in a humid place, so I kind of expected it to be particularly moldy. But I was thrilled when I arrived and found the charming building is all remodeled inside and everything is fresh and clean. My room (#1) was beautiful and had windows that open and allow for a nice cross breeze and plenty of fresh air. The king size bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large with big fluffy towels. Denise and Matt were friendly and down to earth and gave recommendations for hikes and lent me hiking trail maps. Matt drove me to the ferry terminal when my taxi didn’t show up on time. Breakfast was delicious and they even had gluten free toast for me. I really can’t think of anything to fault. The only way they could improve it is to make it a Bed, Breakfast, and Dinner!
It’s also in a great location, along the coastal walking path and within walking distance to the needles ( if you’re a walker and fit). I loved the Isle of Wight and could have spent much more than 3 days there. Highly recommended.

Wonderful find. Clean throughout, really beautiful thoughtful decor. Hosts were incredibly friendly. Really comfy beds and the breakfast was freshly cooked and so tasty - recommend the freshly cut fruit salad, followed by the veggie breakfast.

Stayed here for seven days (11th June) and every day was perfect. Denise and Matt were so welcoming and there knowledge of the area meant that we were able to get out and about and enjoy the island. Our room was really pleasant with a lovely bathroom and at breakfast there was plenty of choice including of course a fabulous cooked breakfast cooked by Matt. Thank you Denise and Matt for a wonderful week.

Our third visit and we can honestly highly recommend Rockstone cottage. The hosts Matt and Denise are extremely welcoming and go out of their way to make your stay really relaxing and hassle free. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and the bedrooms are really comfortable. The icing on the cake is the breakfast which comprises a really broad choice to cater for all palettes and the full English is cooked to perfection.
