This is a lovely place to stay. The house is so inviting and light and airy. The rooms are comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The breakfasts are amazing with lots of choice. The cottage is ideally situated for getting around. There are pubs and restaurants nearby and the sea is just at the end of the raad. Denise and Matt are so friendly and helpful. Loved their dog Nelson. We have already recommended Rockstone Cottage to our friends and we will definitely be going back.

I was nervous coming here because I’m very allergic to mold and I have reactions to more than 50% of hotels, and this B&B is in very old building in a humid place, so I kind of expected it to be particularly moldy. But I was thrilled when I arrived and found the charming building is all remodeled inside and everything is fresh and clean. My room (#1) was beautiful and had windows that open and allow for a nice cross breeze and plenty of fresh air. The king size bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large with big fluffy towels. Denise and Matt were friendly and down to earth and gave recommendations for hikes and lent me hiking trail maps. Matt drove me to the ferry terminal when my taxi didn’t show up on time. Breakfast was delicious and they even had gluten free toast for me. I really can’t think of anything to fault. The only way they could improve it is to make it a Bed, Breakfast, and Dinner! It’s also in a great location, along the coastal walking path and within walking distance to the needles ( if you’re a walker and fit). I loved the Isle of Wight and could have spent much more than 3 days there. Highly recommended.…

You book a B&B, have a lovely stay, enjoy it so much that you choose to return next year. When you get there it's never as good as the first time. NOT HERE AT ROCKSTONE !!! I love this place. Firstly the hosts are superb. Secondly the rooms are perfect. The beds are so comfy. They feel like brand new. Thirdly the breakfast room is ideal. Fourthly the wifi works properly ! And the parking is great. There's probably loads more good stuff, but I have to go out now - I can't sit here all day typing..... Even better than last year !!!

Stayed here for seven days (11th June) and every day was perfect. Denise and Matt were so welcoming and there knowledge of the area meant that we were able to get out and about and enjoy the island. Our room was really pleasant with a lovely bathroom and at breakfast there was plenty of choice including of course a fabulous cooked breakfast cooked by Matt. Thank you Denise and Matt for a wonderful week.

Having stayed in many B&B’s, ranging from excellent to dire, we are delighted to say we’d rate Rockstone Cottage in our top 3 for comfort, cleanliness, quality of breakfast and friendly personalised hospitality from Denise and Matt. We particularly enjoyed the choice at breakfast, with quality ingredients, including fresh fruit salad, and ‘Mum’s Marmalade’ . Our top recommendations for walks in the area are to Alum Bay over Headon Warren; from the Needles along Tennyson Down to Freshwater Bay; through Afton Nature Reserve and along the old railway line between Freshwater and Yarmouth. We also enjoyed visiting the recently restored walled garden at Farringford House – good value at £4. For excellent food and friendly service we liked Dimbola Lodge Tearooms (Freshwater Bay) and The Wheatsheaf Pub in Yarmouth. We definitely hope to return to Rockstone Cottage and do some more of the beautiful walks straight from their doorstep…

Have just returned from a few days at Rockstone Cottage. Can thoroughly recommend this lovely B&B. Our room was light and airy and the bed very comfy. It had everything you would expect from an excellent B&B and the hearty breakfasts were delicious. Denise and Matt were very hospitable and Nelson, the dog, was very friendly too! An added bonus was that 5 minutes down the road there was the sea with a lovely coastal walk down towards The Needles and lovely sunsets to boot. Can't wait to go back.

It’s always reassuring to receive a warm friendly welcome wherever you’re staying; that’s exactly what get at Rockstone. Denise and Matt made us feel extremely welcome and their delightful dog Nelson played his part too. Our room was nicely appointed and clean with the added bonus of some complimentary IoW shortbread. Breakfast arrangements work well with Denise on hand to answer any questions you may have about the local area whilst Matt cooks up your breakfast. Highly recommended.
