Excellent site that is really well managed and maintained. The facilities were good and the pitches well spaced and nice and flat. We were on bikes and the site is great to access Colwell Bay, Freshwater Bay and the Needles......and the rest of the Isle of Wight if it comes to that.
Our first time here (first time on the Isle of Wight actually). Very welcoming ,friendly, helpful and capable wardens Karen and Gary, ever present whizzing around on the golf cart or in the office. Pitch was great, lots of evening sun, facilities great (lots of hot water ) and most importantly, within 15 mins of darkness falling you couldn’t hear a pin drop!! Excellent location,we cycled around the whole island using the site as a base, but Yarmouth is a short traffic free ride away (alongside River Yar) and Totland Bay and Colwell Bay are within a 20 minute walk and both are stunning . Really enjoyed it here and we will return for sure.
This was our second stay at Heathfield and it did not disappoint. The new wardens Karen and Gary are a credit to the site. They are welcoming and friendly. The pitches are well prepared and spacious, and the facilities are cleaned regularly. Our only issue was the nightly visit from a brazen fox which entered our open porch on our tent and took our rubbish. Other campers had also experienced problems. Perhaps we should have been warned so that we could ensure that our rubbish/food items are secure and kept inside the tent. It would deter the fox from visiting if there was nothing for it to take. It didn't only take food - it took one of my flip flops and chewed it before leaving it in pieces across the field!!!
Clean and quiet campsite, pet and child friendly, would definitely come back again, toilets showers and cleaning facilities are clean throughout the day, great place to camp, wardens of the site are friendly and professional
To explain why we chose this site to get married from would take too long. We came last year 2020 to do a recce and then Covid hit. However we liked what we saw. The owners are amazingly friendly and very very helpful. We booked 2 of the largest pitches, we have large motorhome but needed the space for us and our 2 witnesses also in a MH. The view over Hurst Castle was lovely. The site is immaculate with good facilities. The bus stop to Yarmouth and Newport is right outside with a regular service. The local shops are 2 stops away and The Needles are 20 mins in the other direction. This is our second stay but certainly won’t be our last. Thank you for being our hosts even if we’re a tad noisy on the hen night, sorry!
