Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice home cooked food, staff friendly. Party of 6, good sized portions, good value. Puddings really nice and once again large portions. We booked as quite busy. Worth looking on the special board, its a little old school decor, but quite charming and in keeping with the building. If you want wholesome food in a relaxed setting then place for you. Kids menu was good value.

We are an island family and call into this establishment on an ad hoc basis, there were 3 of us, the other two enjoyed their food, I ordered pancakes as i did not feel like a full meal, 3 pancakes duly arrived and oh dear they were awful, like clay pigeons at a shoot, one of the three was edible and the other two could have been welded to a hole in the side of the ship, i made a mistake and soldiered on and ate them. On leaving i went to the sweets counter and told the ladies that the pancakes were unfit for consumption, i was polite and do not raise my voice, new batch of pancakes etc etc i was told, i did not complain with the intention of getting my money back or replacements which is just as well as none were offered, we will give this place a miss for a few months, its not cheap either.

Staff were lovely, friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean although it could do with new decor!! Unfortunately the food was not good.. I’ve had better burgers after a night out. Looked like it was made in a rush and the chicken was dry.

We visited the restaurant only. This has a great menu, and the food has good portions and is all tasty. It is a pub-style set-up where you place your order at the bar. But some of the touches are really nice. There is a large amount of specials, which change regularly. There is also a separate place where you can order dessert, and what a fantastic range of desserts there are, again with lots of specials. The staff are friendly, and they even saved a spoon that our disabled daughter uses which we accidentally left behind. If you want a big selection of good honest food with big portions, this is the place to go. I hope it stays doing what it does for many years to come, as we will certainly visit every time we visit the Isle of Wight.

Absolutely amazing stay at the Appley Manor. I’ve stayed here for 2 weeks on business and I cannot fault the service and accommodation I’ve received. I initially was only staying here for 2 days but due to a change of situation at work, I needed to stay another 12 days. The service from the staff both in the restaurant and the hotel itself was outstanding. Friendly at every hour of the day. Welcoming us home after some very trying and difficult days, with a smile and awesome service. They were more than accommodating to all of our needs. No matter how difficult they became at times. The food was brilliant, massive portions and tasted excellent. I’ve travelled all over the world since I was a kid and never have I ever stopped at a hotel where I’ve felt more at home! Thank you everyone at Appley Manor! See you again soon

Poor quality frozen food at extortionate prices - we had the roast beef. pork & turkey. All overcooked. Waiting staff tired and almost everything too much effort Squeezed into the corner of the restaurant - could barely get into the seats. A disappointed family of 4 won’t be back.

We stayed here as a family along with our friends for a weekend. The staff were exceptional, they were always there for anything we needed. Three of our party were GF and the hotel provided breakfast and lunch to cater for them with no issues. The food was delicious and great portion sizes. Our room was clean and of a good size even tho we had 5 in our room it was still spacious and an extra bed put in, again with no fuss from the staff. I must also mention it’s a great location for visiting as only a short drive from a range of good to see destinations. We all had a great time and are looking to come back next year.

This is a very comfortable hotel with very pleasant and helpful staff. We stayed as a big group in this hotel in an old Victorian building. The rooms varied in size but all were clean and comfortable. breakfast was fine and served in a lovely room overlooking the garden. A possible downside is the restaurant in a large extension lacking in atmosphere. It is a basic pub menu with ordering at the bar. It was however good enough pub food and some in our group enjoyed it.

Since discovering this gem was a hotel as well as an excellent family restaurant, I always stay here when visiting family. I sometimes bring my husband as well, it makes a great base for visiting the IoW. You can tell this is family run business, nothing is too much trouble, requests are met and often exceeded, no matter how busy. Made it very easy to ditch the chain hotel I'd previously used. Rooms are clean, comfortable, well provisioned and a good size, with pleasant views. My parents are loathe to step far from their front door but mention lunch at Appley Manor and their faces light up. Looking forward to my next stay already.

I recently came here for a meal out with family. I have an intolerant and the staff were very accommodating to my needs, I could even have pudding. The food was traditional and tasty. Will definitely be returning.
