Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely afternoon tea. Great service. Wonderful views. Fairly standard afternoon tea but very tasty and well presented. This is a fabulous location with views across a vast lake. Set in the pretty village of Wooton near Ryde. Nice restaurant with lovely outlook.

My son and I had a spa session with afternoon tea. The spa experience was disappointing. It was too busy with children and loud people. It was too loud and not a relaxing atmosphere. We were unable to use the hot tub as it was rammed with people. We paid extra for treatments which were really good though and the staff were very nice . The afternoon tea was lovely.

Went for a Christmas party. Over priced drinks , food was incredibly average , tiny portions and they served plain pasta and undercooked veg as a vegan option. Had far better value for money at any pub .

Our Rowing Club’s Awards night proved to be a very enjoyable and fun evening at this classy venue. The buffet meal was delicious and the function room was perfect for our special event. It was a pleasure liaising with Jess from the Events Team and on the night her professional staff continued to ensure that everything ran smoothly. A great venue for any occasion.

We enjoyed a fantastic evening at the Lakeside last night. As a family we wanted to go somewhere special to celebrate some good news. From the minute we arrived, we were looked after superbly by Anthony and his team. The surroundings are very smart and comfortable. The food was delicious, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and can’t recommend highly enough.

A feeling of relaxation from the minute you arrive. Staff at check-in are friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. Dining can be booked at reception. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Complimentary bottles of water and biscuits are provided in your room, along with tea and coffee making facilities. The decor in the hotel room (and in the bathroom) has a modern feel and is kept to a high standard. Robes are provided for the spa. The spa has much to offer. There is an adequately heated pool with indoor jacuzzi, steam room, and shower with various settings. Outdoors, there is a thermal spa with two saunas set at different temperatures and fragrances. The lighting outside sets the ambience for evening use. There are plenty of loungers both inside and outside (if the weather permits). There is a wide range of spa treatments available, with a bubble lounge for relaxation before or after treatments. The afternoon teas are delicious, and the evening meals are equally as enjoyable. A buffet style breakfast is available with good quality, local produce. The Lakeside has now become our annual treat, especially when offers are advertised.

Great hotel with a lovely bistro and an Elemis spa. The hotel is set in large grounds overlooking the lake, whilst it’s just off the main road there wasn’t any noise or disturbance. We had an evening meal in the bistro which was a very high standard and there was plenty of choice. Breakfast was a choice of buffet hot food or specials such as eggs Benedict, or smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The spa was quiet on the two occasions we used it and the treatments and treatment rooms were nicely done. The rooms are large and well appointed with tea/coffee making facilities and nice toiletries. Special thanks to the restaurant/bar staff who were very friendly and gave us lots of recommendations for places to visit on the IOW.

What can we say - we can't get enough of this Hotel & Spa for the following reasons: • The rooms are beautiful • The grounds are picture perfect • The staff are so warm & inviting • The restaurant has a lovely calm & welcoming vibe The Food: The Food & Restaurant are just incredible! The menus are always great and the quality never dips but, right now in October the current menu is on point. The Chicken for guests who prefer meat dishes is exceptional. But for me right now, the Cod dish on the menu is the Flag Ship. I cannot start to describe how good it is, you really need to go and try it - absolutely outstanding. Do not miss out on the chance to go and experience for yourselves. Once again - great stay - exceptional food - thank you so much Lakeside. Keeping that sort of high standard consistently is what sets you apart from the rest. The Hilton Brand could certainly learn a thing or two about how to do things right if they visited here that’s for sure!

Just back from a 4 night stay at this wonderful hotel. Made use of all the facilities and everything was perfect. The food was very good, the service was excellent and the rooms were very comfortable. The setting is great as well. One of our party left a few personal belongings which the hotel found and offered to send them on free of charge. Special mention to the bar staff and the breakfast team who were all amazing. Will definitely return one day and highly recommended 👍
