We had booked our first trip to the Isle of Wight pre covid and luckily for us the site opened the day we traveled. We had an excellent deal with red funnel ferry’s which included the campsite. The owner was very helpful, large pitches, the shower block was deep cleaned twice a day with covid safety everywhere. Sinks blocked off , hand sanitiser etc. We felt totally safe and had a fantastic 10 day holiday. There is a bus stop just outside the site and a Tesco’s express within walking distance. Loads of walks directly from the campsite

Just came back for a lovely weeks camping holiday with EHU. Great size flat pitches located evenly around the site, surrounded by an ancient 400yr old forest,
and our large tent and front awning fitted easily,(Zemphire TXL Pro and sun Shield)
Toilet block and facilities very well kept and the cleanest we have seen at a campsite. Covid precautions in place and thought put into measures on site.
Great walks from campsite and lovely beaches just a short drive away.
A huge Tesco is just 5 mins drive away.
Also a visit to Crave icecream parlour in Ventnor is a must, as some amazing and unusual flavours. ( spiced whiskey and Biscoff being 2 of our favourites 🍦

We have just a week at the is campsite, and it is truly a beautiful spot, with excellent facilities. We used the facilities at all different times of the day/evening and they were always spotless. Always lashings of hot water, The pitches are generous in size and are tiered, to give privacy. The wardens are on hand should you need them, and give a warm welcome on arrival. We would definitely recommend this site. The hand sanitizer was always available, never ran out !!!!!

With large pitches, a great mix of trees and open areas, this is a truly wonderful camp site. Family run by a friendly, helpful team, the site is not too large, has red squirrels, vocal birds of prey high in the trees, and is impeccably looked after. As a bit of a fair weather camper I can also vouch for the shower/loo block - it is, genuinely, the best I have ever seen and used.

Absolutely spotless facilities. Hand gel and sprays all available including next to the freshwater taps which I’ve not seen before during Covid but Is a great idea. Pitches are huge and clean. Some road noise. We used the bridleways to Ryde and the pub at St Helens which is approx 2 miles each way. We hired bikes from a shop in Ryde and had great fun cycling around. Tesco Extra is a 20 minute safe walk away. Owners are very nice and helpful. We felt very safe there and will certainly be returning.

Never camped before and should have been on a cruise, so we decided to head into the unknown on the Isle of Wight with our two young kids.

What a brilliant campsite. We had a flat pitch with electric hook-up, next to a wooded area.

The facilities were fantastic and spotlessly clear and spacious! Plenty of anti-bac and gels available too. Lots of washing up stations too. We found the four family shower rooms perfect, were we could all get ready together with plenty of space. I think we may have been spoilt for our first trip.

Everything was spotless and you can tell how good a place is by the clientele, who also kept the place spotless too, either by mopping down after a shower or cleaning a washing station.

There are also washing machines and tumble driers which require tokens that can be purchased from reception.

There are wooded areas to explore too with the kids which swings and woodhouses, plus a hide to spot red squirrels, which we successfully did!

Be warned, you will have plenty of tent, caravan and motor home envy when you are there!

It’s situated just outside of Ryde on the main A3055 to Brading and Sandown, which is a bit noisy considering you are only allowed to drive on the island after 9pm if you have a modified exhaust pipe!!!!

Tesco Extra is just up the road, there is a bridle path at the site to takes you to the beautiful village of St Helens and the site itself is perfectly placed for exploring the east side of the island.

As a family, we would thoroughly recommend. We liked it so much, we are coming back in 2021!

Visited for a weeks camping at the end of July as a family of 5 ( 3 children under 10) and two dogs. The campsite was easy to find and on arrival you can see it is well maintained and in a lovely wooded setting. Our pitch was huge And flat with access to the woods behind. The facilities were so clean and tidy with everyone doing their bit to keep it that way especially covid related hygiene. The staff and owners were very friendly and helpful, with information on hand, happy to help with any questions or just to have a chat. The children’s play area was great and very natural with it being all wooden equipment, We read In other reviews it wasn’t child friendly, that was not the case for our children who had their bikes and played around the site and never felt like they were in the way, other children and families were playing small ball games together with no one minding at all. The woodland walk around the perimeter of the site was a great addition especially for walking the dogs, it felt they were very welcomed too. Highlight was the red squirrel look out spot which was such fun to watch them feeding and running around. All in all I would highly recommend this campsite, it was clean, well equipped, relaxed and well situated to use as a good base to explore IOW ( having Tesco’s extra so close was a bonus ) children and dogs alike were welcomed and had been thought of. We shall definitely be returning for another stay.

An amazing site. This was the seventh time we visited this site. We have tried others but always come back here. The pitches are all a good size and on different levels with most backing onto wooded areas. very well looked after campsite. Shower block is modern and very clean. Has family and disabled bathrooms, small laundry room with two washers and drivers and a large washing up area . The owners and staff are always helpful and friendly.
The site is in a very good position. There is a 24 hour tesco 5 minutes up the road .
There is a bus top right outside the entrance which can take you into ryde in 10 minutes or the other way to Sandown in 20 minutes.
Can't wait to go back this year once the country hopefully gets back to normal

Just returned from 5 nights at this lovely site. Really helpful owners, the site is extremely well maintained and Covid precautions all in place with lots of attention to detail. The facilities were spotless and regularly cleaned.
The pitches are well spaced and level. Beautiful setting among the trees and great location.
We had a great time and will definitely return.

A really nice & clean site in a wooded area - just perfect for a relaxing holiday. There is a bus route just 150 yards from the site & plenty of footpaths & bridleways from close by. We got a bus most days & did a walk on some part of the island, ending with a cuppa & a cake wherever we were. For a really nice meal the Hungry Bear in nearby Brading is well worth a visit - we did twice! There is a huge Tesco just half a mile away if you need to stock up or plenty of little local shops in the towns & villages, although there was just one rather poor shop in Brading selling nothing fresh.
The only thing that could be classed as a downside was the poor WiFi signal, unless you sat outside reception.

Can you see the play area from the camping pitches?
Answer from CHARLEEMC
Southampton, United Kingdom218 contributions131 helpful votes
Not really as the play area is in a fairly wooded area. It is very close to some pitches (the campsite is vast though so only a few) but really quite sheltered.

I believe it is possible to walk to the large tesco via footpaths. It is a maximum 5 minute drive so cannot be that far to walk.
