Boutique seaside hotel in the picturesque fishing village of Seaview near Ryde on the isle of Wight. Great food, friendly service and a fantastic location. The 2 AA Rosette winning restaurant and bars feature local produce with seasonally changing menus accommodating tastes in fine dining in The Aquitania Restaurant as well as family favourites in the bistro and bar.

Went here today for Sunday lunch and had a very good experience. Food was excellent and the service we received from the staff was exemplary. Our waiter Tom was very friendly and attentive, he dealt with our requirements expertly. Tom the manager inquired about our experience and was very pleased to hear how happy we were with our lunch and service.
The ambience in the rear restaurant was very good.

We booked this hotel via a travel zoo deal as visiting family on the island...it's in a lovely part of the island I've never visited before ,we had a very comfortable room with a sea view, the price included a full breakfast ,there is an excellentnchoice from the buffet but also a huge hot breakfast choice.
Our room had water, toiletries ,manicure kit etc ,nice little touches, plenty of thick white towels ,shower gel, shampoo etc and bath and shower facilities.
Tea ,coffee ,biscuits in room
We ate in the restaurant one evening, the food is plentiful and of a high standard and the staff are all pleasant and very helpful, always eager to answer and queries ...a great visit .
Would definitely use again, albeit a trek to Ventnor to see family, ok in the day but nighttime is a challenging ride especially in the rain and windb, that's no reflection on the hotel ..and it was in a perfect spot for the fishbourne ferry to Portsmouth.

Not only was it our first visit to Seaview, but also our first stay at the Seaview Hotel.
We were warmly welcomed, and during our stay we found all the Hotel staff to be very friendly and obliging. We were always made to feel very welcome.
Our front facing sea view room was very comfortable, very clean and well presented and the same was reflected in the large bathroom. Unfortunately we found the bathrobes to be very thin and not very wrap around, and the bathroom slippers were the thinnest we have ever encountered. The variety of quality toiletries provided was very good, but the shower gel and bathroom soap were supplied in wall mounted units, ( just like staying at a Premier Inn ). Could not fault the high standard of daily room service, everything used was replaced.
The breakfast was excellent with a variety of hot and cold choice. The evening meals were of a very high standard and well presented. The service we received in the dining room was excellent. What was not liked was the thinnest two ply paper napkins we have ever come across.
The Hotel car park is very small with restricted available parking spaces, access is very narrow and challenging unless you have a Fiat Panda or Nissan Micra size vehicle.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Seaview Hotel, however, considering our room was priced at £180.00 per night B&B, there were several issues that did not match the room rate expectation.

A good establishment with great reviews, well I knew about this place years ago having found an old series of postcards in a routine house clearance. All round it scores a very good and an ideal place to stay on the island, we’d come again. The staff coped admirably in the face of Crazy-Covid, they are pleasant and helpful.
Our room in an adjacent building was on the second floor and was quiet with the exception of the car park. Bathroom was eccentric with the tap water aperture to bath from the ceiling, the fall was noisy and messy, neither an easy operation for the guest or cleaner (the interior designer needs shooting).
Dining was good but this is not fine dining and makes my wife’s home cooking Shine. No shellfish here, not even a prawn, let alone a moule, crab and certainly not lobster or even bisque! No exciting fruit either? Something that needs illuminating don’t you think chef? No beef either.
My wife had Fish and chips in the bar on one night and on another fish and chips at The Regal in Bembrige ( a one man band with grotty exterior signage), give it ago as the Regal’s was fresher and better batter and crispier chips!
Wonderful weather, smoothed it all over and yes, we would visit again but the cooking needs more finess and we’d have to have a better ‘Seaview Room’.
7/10 (8/10 for staff coping with Crazy-Covid)

The first thing that struck us upon arrival was the welcoming and helpful attitude of the receptionist. During our 3 day stay, we found that all of the hotel's people we met had positive, friendly and accommodating dispositions. Great stuff.
We booked a superior room with a sea view. Being familiar with the location of the hotel, we were not surprised that the view of the sea is from the side of the bay window. The front view is of the buildings on the opposite side of the road. However, it is not a sea 'glimpse'. The windows are particularly large and the view, albeit from the side, is uninterrupted, wide and worthwhile.
The room itself was spacious and immaculate. The bathroom was also of a good size but looked a little tired. E.g there was an unsightly brown chip in the enamel of the bath that we initially thought was dirt. A simple repair would have made all the difference. That said, we found the housekeeping to be very good.
Older buildings will always have issues. The windows in our room were (probably) the original wooden box sash. We had to wedge one with cardboard to stop the upper and lower frames banging against each other in the wind. Double glazing is an expensive investment but would certainly improve soundproofing and comfort.
The breakfast cold buffet was limited but probably adequate for most. The cooked breakfast (pick and mix from the menu) was really nicely done and generous.
To be frank, I am finding it difficult to write this review. The hotel is graded as 3 star, but my immediate and lasting impression is that of a boutique, 4 star hotel. We felt very comfortable throughout and would not hesitate to stay again and recommend to others.

We booked to go to the Isle Of Wight very last minute and read the mixed reviews of this hotel. I called the hotel directly and spoke to (What we thought) a very helpful receptionist who confirmed that they had rooms available and that she could organise also the Ferry Booking across. She organised it all and said would email details that evening.
This was all great... I thought what fantastic service.
This was soon let down as no confirmation came that evening, I rang the hotel 3 or 4 times to make sure we had a place on the ferry the next day, but no answer, just voicemail or please email.
The following morning we called at 8.00 am when we were already travelling to the Ferry we didn't know we had, but again no answer, 9.00 am somebody finally answered and confirmed that we had the booking and were on the 11 am ferry, she then emailed me the details and our boarding card. Not the best start to our little vacation.
We made our way to the island and to the hotel, when we arrived we were greeted by a very dated hotel, and certainly not with a SEAVIEW. our room (7) was a complete sweat box, no air conditioning, above the kitchen areas, a small compact room for a premium £175 a night charge. we managed to get a fan, for the night but still unbearable and very poor for the rate. We thought that the bar and meal may be better, but no, very little staff, for a hotel that was supposedly full, i stood alone in the bar for 15 miuites before being served, the Guiness was awful and not been run through, The evening Meal was terrible, which when we complained we were told that they had gone through a lot of different Chefs since the pandemic and had lots of complaints about food. The menu is very poor, they have a fish restaurant and a Bistro restaurant the bistro had numerous fish dishes and the choice of Duck, Burgers or Pork Belly, the Burgers were very dry and not edible. They did not charge us for this but still could have handled the complaint better.
All in All with food, room and a few drinks the £285 bill for what we got was very very poor, i certainly would not recommend and would not o back....

We were booked in for three nights with a friend mid week. Our booking clearly said we would be travelling with our small well behaved collie. When we booked in the aforementioned collie was with us on a bright yellow lead. We were given a key and directed towards room 3. Room 3 is a lovely room but we only saw it briefly as, about 30 seconds later there was a knock on the door and a different member of reception staff asked if we had a dog with us. Yes we said we did have a dog with us. Apparently dogs are not allowed in room 3 and we were escorted to room 9, a much smaller room where dogs are allowed. Now please do not get me wrong, I have no problem with dog and non dog rooms but we were left feeling very much as if we had tried to smuggle a dog into a hotel and a part of the hotel that dogs were not allowed in. We had been open and honest all the way through, our booking in the bar/restaurant had also been discussed with regards to where or where not the dog was allowed. My issue is that we were made to feel that we had been underhand rather than the fact that reception had made, I am sure not deliberately, an error. We fed this back to the hotel in the feedback we were asked to email to them but we have had no response.
As to the rest of the hotel, it was clean and fresh looking. The food was good, breakfast extensive and well done in C-19 times. Steve in the bar was an excellent hotel barman, remembering faces, drinks and very engaging. The bed in room 9 is ridiculously big for a very long thin room (there are three pillows in a line along the top), and if this is one of your dog rooms, then the extra floor space would be more use in our opinion.
All in all, 3 stars is, in some ways, perhaps a bit harsh but reflects how we felt about our visit. First impressions last.

We have just returned from our second winter stay at the Seaview and loved it as much as we did last year. Arriving on a cold and windy January evening it was lovely to hear the hubbub of the bar which was full of locals. The food was superb – including tasty fish dishes. We particularly loved the touch of two different types of butter which changed each evening – the horseradish one in was our favourite. Breakfast was just as delicious with a surprisingly wide variety of cooked options – my scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection. We stayed in a beautifully comfortable bedroom with views of the sea from the front and side - room 15. The staff at the hotel were as friendly as last year - with familiar faces and they made our stay really memorable. The Seaview is perfect for a cosy winter break.

Two visits over a busy weekend gave a chance to eat in the main restaurant and in the bar. The same menu is offered across the bar, the main restaurant and the smaller more intimate restaurant area at the front of the hotel. There is something very welcoming and hospitable about the whole hotel perhaps evidenced by the fact that the hotel provides immaculate public toilets for Seaview as a whole. Service was nimble and food presentation varied between our two visits which indicates that on site chefs put their personal mark on the menu. One little criticism: the cheeseboard was mean with tiny fragments of apple and fig but the little biscuits were beautiful. The bar cares well for local real ales.

We stayed at the Seaview Hotel for the first time on 22nd July. I am Island born and bred so normally stay with family but we would totally recommend the excellent hotel, staff and food. We felt very safe arriving with outstanding cleanliness in all areas of the hotel and room. A room with a sea view is definitely amazing. Loved all the toiletries, bottled water and super soft towels and bathrobes. A stones throw literally from the beach we were so relaxed with beautiful walks, went kayaking, and had pre dinner drinks overlooking the water. The evening meal was of outstanding quality, my partner worked at the Savoy many years ago and could not believe how good the food and flavours were. Diane on reception was so helpful, all the staff are so polite and eager to please, and with such a great overnight stay we booked again the following week which we are currently going home from. Again superb so much so we are staying in September for my mum's 91st Birthday and hiring the cottage in October so we can cook for her and have the family visit. You won't be disappointed just book it and I guarantee you will want to return...

Dear Alan B,
We do indeed have a disable adapted room in our modern building at the rear of the hotel. It is on the 1st floor with a small lift for wheelchair/disabled users. The room is fully equipped with a wet room.
Kind regards
The Seaview Hotel Team
Yes we do accept dogs here. We do apply a small charge for your dog to stay and have several dog friendly rooms.
Please call the hotel for more information.
The sea front immediately in front of the hotel is taken up by Seaview Yacht Club with boat moorings so it is better to walk a few minutes in either direction, my favourite being the beautifully sandy Seagrove Bay, about 5 minutes walk to the East. Lovely!
Yes enclosed car park at rear of hotel just make sure you're angled to get out.
