Boutique seaside hotel in the picturesque fishing village of Seaview near Ryde on the isle of Wight. Great food, friendly service and a fantastic location. The 2 AA Rosette winning restaurant and bars feature local produce with seasonally changing menus accommodating tastes in fine dining in The Aquitania Restaurant as well as family favourites in the bistro and bar.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I had another lovely Sunday roast at the Seaview Hotel. I chose the turkey and my husband had the rump beef. All presented beautifully. The staff friendly and professional. Dessert was lovely too but tucked into that before I could take a photo! We had spiced apple crumble with custard and Seaview bread and butter pudding with custard. Well worth a visit.

The bar is a great place for a meal. Really recommended. Service was excellent from all staff. Welcoming and with attention to detail. Love that you can have a small portion of fish and chips. The soufflé was divine!

The stand out for us was the staff at the hotel. Without exception they were excellent and went the extra mile; nothing was too much trouble. They were friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable and in a fine location in a small, elegant village overlooking the Solent. There is a bar (open to non-residents), a bistro and a restaurant and a large sitting room. We spent a week there, benefiting from the hotel's offer of stay five nights, get two extra free. It is in a good location for walking along the coast and swimming in the sea. We will definitely come back - hopefully in 2024!

I can only review the food as we haven't stayed at the Hotel. BUT, boy, what delicious food it is. We have eaten here 3 times over the past month and every time we have eaten something different and been so overwhelmed by how mouthwatering each bite is. Today we both chose the potato and cheese pie, served with veg and mash. We have eaten outside on the patio which was lovely in the warm sunshine. There is a smart looking restaurant, but we eat in the bar which is really relaxed and comfortable and the barman, Chris is attentive, funny and adds to the whole experience. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. If you haven't eaten here, just book a table, you won't regret it.

We had a lovely meal at the Seaview Hotel on Sunday evening. The Bistro Restaurant was warm and friendly with several other customers, both residents and non-residents - like ourselves. The staff were friendly, especially Chris who responded positively to my request to straighten up some of the pictures by inviting me to join him in carrying out the task, much to the amusement of the other guests. My only criticism is that the decor is somewhat inconsistent.

If you like the citylife, this is the place to be. Local to shops and Port Zante. Accommodation was perfect for us, comfortable rooms, air-conditioning, TV, lovely breakfast, daily bed room cleaning, but most of all the staff were amazing. Polite, respectful and helpful. Thank you Alex for Accommodating us. See you again, in the near future!

We are just back after 6 nights in the Seaview hotel. The hotel is very pleasant, though maybe a bit old fashioned in decor. But the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. And the location is super even if the car park was a bit tight. If we go back to the Isle of Wight we would definitely stay here again.

I have been going to the Seaview hotel off and on for twenty three years, I eat there quite regularly, as I live nearby. I went to the hotel for dinner on Tuesday and had the worst experience, my three companions were quite happy with their meal, mine was so very bad, I ordered rare steak, when it arrived it was overcooked and dry, with a tiny piece of garnish and some cold chips. The waiter was so very rude. It will be a very long time before I enter the the Seaview hotel again, as the previous meal I had was disappointing, but I just put that down to an off day.....obviously all their days seem to be off days.....will be eating at the Old Fort in future !
