We have stayed here many many times and will continue to do so! The owners are so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. It's like visiting your family and you really do get looked after. Breakfasts are amazing just like the hosts. Joe & Dave can't do enough for you. They are a wealth of knowledge and can recommend local attractions to...

Friendly hosts. Very good breakfast. Cranbrook s a lovely place to stay near to Great Dixter and Sissinghurst, and a beautiful location next to the church. Comfortable beds. This is a small property, and the dining room is in the hosts sitting room, where the cat also lives. The bedroom was filled with books and ornaments, quirky, but too much...

Church Gates is a lovely old house and as a B&B guest, you share it with the owners. And yes, as a previous reviewer noted, conversations do carry. Unlike "modern" guesthouses with a lounge/breakfast room for the guests and a separate living area for the owners, Joe and David rent out 2 bedrooms on the 1st floor to guests and...

Enjoyed a one night stay at Church Gates last month. The room was cosy and sumptuous with a lovely view looking over Cranbrook's historic town centre. Jo and David were perfect hosts and we enjoyed eating ice cream with them in the afternoon! We shall definitely be back again. Highly recommended.

We had a very pleasant stay in this characterful B&B that epitomizes everything of an English B&B. The breakfast was very nice and Joe and David very very welcoming and came up with really interesting suggestions of places to visit as they know the area very well. The building is not terribly well soundproofed which one out of three nights...

I've stayed at Church Gates 4 times now and every time we have the most perfect time. Joe and David are so warm and welcoming and their house is the most stunning, romantic hideaway you could imagine. It also has an idyllic garden that's cared for with so much love and looks fantastic all year round. The breakfasts are also...

We stayed in the really atmospheric and well appointed Church Gates for three nights in September. Joe was an excellent host, making our stay even more enjoyable by his friendly conversation over breakfast - and the quality of the breakfast was outstanding, including a wonderful supply of fresh berries and other fruit. While Sissinghurst Is no doubt well worth seeking,...
