We have often eaten or had drinks here over the years and decided to stay overnight whilst on a mini break away. We stayed in room 5 on the second floor and our room overlooked the front and we had a great view of the sea and pier. The room had everything we needed. Two chairs, coffee and tea making facilities ( some herbal/fruit tea bags would be a welcome addition) with some biscuits. TV and wi fii working fine. The shower was surprisingly good considering we were two floors up. A nice spacious room. Basic decor but clean. We were warm enough and comfortable. We ate in the bar for our evening meal, looking at the books on the shelf about Deal, which has a wealth of history. Never disappointed with the food here, we have never had a bad meal. Graham and Shirley are wonderful hosts and make everyone welcome in their pub which they have spent many years nurturing. All staff are extremely pleasant. Breakfast was served downstairs in the bar, it was nice having the pub all to ourselves after the other breakfast guests left!!!! We would definitely stay again and if you want to try it for yourselves then BOOK DIRECT as breakfast is then included. You won’t be disappointed.

We stayed at The Kings Head for 1 night and it was lovely. Perfectly positioned opposite the beach which I would recommend you bring sea shoes for as its much trickier getting out of the sea without them. The room was very nicely decorated and the bathroom was spotless with an amazing power shower. We had dinner there and the food was very good quality. All the staff were nice , I emailed ahead to ask where to park and if I could have a fan in the room and got very quick responses from the Landlady who was really helpful. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly .

Friendly owners and staff help to make The King's Head a special place. Our room further down the terrace in the Channel View Guest House was large, clean and very comfortable with a splendid bathroom. Breakfast was filling - especially whilst the weather was blowey and rainy - and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thanks guys.

Stayed here over the bank holiday weekend. Positives are that it’s in a great location and very quaint English pub B&B. Nice clean room, nice comfy bed and great shower.

Now the negatives. We went out for dinner with some friends and then returned with our friends at 9.30 to be told that the pub was shut as the staff were tired and gone home. They said us a residents could have a drink but take it to our room….even though the pub was packed. We decided to go back out. Not a great problem but odd for a bank holiday Monday.

The next morning we were woken by the fire alarm at 6.30am we vacated the room but were told it was ok to go back to our room, no explanation was given. We went down for breakfast and were told we didn’t have breakfast included as we had booked through booking.com otherwise it would have been included if we booked direct. We paid £100 for the night. A bit surprised and disappointed to be honest. Shame as that really put us off going back.

Room Tip: Don’t book through booking.com as you don’t get the breakfast part of B&B. Not a lot of parking...

I am sorry I have to write this on here, but didnt want to come into the pub to have a conversation . We popped in last saturday for a drink and everywhere outside was full. We did get a seat. While I had my drink at no time were the tables cleaned or sanitised, Glasses and plates were slow to be collected. People were coming and going changes tables and at no time were the seats or tables wiped. Come on this is an easy task to correct a school leaver could be employed to do this . Lets get this sorted before it is taken further.

Our first visit to Deal, wonderful couple of nights away to unwind and escape.

The Kings Head was an excellent base for us to explore the town. Everything you would want from a charming B&B.

Room was large, clean and comfortable with all the necessities. Bed was extremely comfy, good shower, and a really good size TV. We were lucky to have a beautiful large bay window which gave us an amazing view of the sea.

The Bar downstairs was really useful for a late night drink before retiring, and we could take drinks up to our room when the Bar closed.

Breakfast included was of very good quality and generous portions.

We also had the Sunday roast on our first night which was very tasty, and again a really good portion size - you won't be disappointed!

What made our stay even better was getting to know the lovely owners, they were so welcoming and accommodating and happy to chat. All of the team we encountered were friendly and more than happy to recommend us places to visit. This warm welcome made this charming pub and guesthouse an exceptional stay.

We will be sure to return to Deal and when we do to stay with the Kings Head again.

Thanks to all the team!

A truly amazing place from the moment you step through the door. Greeted by the owners and made to feel welcome. The selection of beer was brilliant and the food was on par with any London restaurant. I stayed one night in the B&B, great views looking out over the channel, room was large, nice, bright and the bedding was pristine. I had the best nights sleep I've ever had away from home, finished off with a tremendous cooked breakfast. If you visit Deal and need somewhere to stay, why would you book anywhere else.

Stopped here for a pint with lunch to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We had sandwiches (one prawn, one chicken and bacon) and a side of squid. The sandwiches were lovely and the squid was fresh, tender and tasty. Would thoroughly recommend.

Thought it was April Fools day or work in progress. Window was held open by an A5 or A4 folder as the sash cord had broken. How silly I was thinking that someone will be fixing it, but no. It was like that for the 4 (hot) nights we were there. What with the window boxes in front of the window, it was difficult to breathe as no air could get in. Bed was so uncomfortable and hardly slept. First time I have been somewhere and couldn't wait to get home into a comfortable bed. Room was very dated with a big dirty mark down one of the walls. Food not the greatest and only ate there one night. Drinks very expensive. Won't be going again.

This place is not ideal if you have no private transport to reach the ferry in Calais. A taxi would probably cost between £30-£40!

No parking in Deal is difficult. There is a small pay parking place free over night near the hotel. All this streets nearby are residents opportunity parking.
