Excellent Carvery everything 1st class, veg cooked well, good choice of meats all cooked perfectly. Nice friendly staff. 2 criticisms we arrived at 1pm and mens toilet was in a bad state, not good as the alternative is a urinal we reported it straight away to the bar, between then and us leaving at 3.30. We heard at least 3 others report it too. I appreciate they were run off there feet with bookings but that should be a priority. Ladies toilet hand dryer not working.

My wife and I took our son for the carvery today. The food was superb, with plenty of choice of vegetables to accompany the succulent meats and the scrummy nut roast. Portion sizes were good but we managed to squeeze in a couple of desserts, the highlight bring the apple and raspberry crumble which had lovely large pieces of fruit in it and which was very tasty. If you are in Deal on a Sunday do check out the carvery, you won't be disappointed!

Had a lovely Sunday carvery roast dinner. Nice little pub that has a lovely outside area, for the summer though 😊 First time I've visited, went with my parents, they have been before, and they do gluten free gravy for mum which is perfect. I will visit again.

Tried to book a table at the King's Head. None was avaiable, but they suggested the Port Arms. Had I read the reviews, I would have avoided it, but I only read them on the way to our meal. They are, I'm sorry to say, entirely accurate. I avoided the pie because of the poor reviews, but the vegan roast was equally appalling. So hard that it could not be cut or eaten. The rest was OK, but for £14, OK is no good enough. My partner had the beef, which was pink as she likes it. However, it was so dry as to be inedible. It's a pleasant place to enjoy a drink, butvoid the food. The cook spent most of his time talking to people at the bar and it is clear that his interest in the food is not that great.

Tried new lunchtime menu, ordered " moo pie" plus mash and peas, pie was luke warm and completely tasteless, mash had bits of tinfoil in it, my friends chicken pie was also luke warm, no staff came to check on meal. Went to bar and pointed out problem, bar staff apologised but offered no remedy at that time, people on table behind sent pies back as they were also cold, got replacements which were even colder , sent back again, bar staff tried hard to please and removed one pie from bill, problem seems to lie in the kitchen the staff to be fair where lovely.

We were staying locally on a first time visit to Deal. The Port Arms is in an attractive seafront location with ample outside seating. The Bar is modern with nautical decor. Good range of drinks including more crafty beers and large local/premium spirits range. Service was prompt, professional and very friendly. Atmosphere was relaxed. We only popped in for a couple of drinks but the food menu offered several casual dining options, the table near us had loaded fries which smelt and looked really good. Lovely venue would visit again if in the area, and staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

A disappointing meal. The meals didn’t quite live up to their billing - and when questioned we were ignore. If it says - comes with chilli jam or cream cheese and chives - then it really should. Staff should respond positively to their customers rather than hide by the dumb waiter. Having said that the starters were very good and we would have them again.

My wife and I have a 3 week old son . I asked the lady behind the bar about changing facilities. Unfortunately there wasn't a designated area however the lady gave us a great solution . My wife needed to feed my son and the barmaid asked if we would like the blind pulled down for privacy ..greatly appreciated..we will definitely return

Our second visit to The Port Arms since it reopened under new management. Another great meal, this time a delicious spicy pizza, squid and fries on the side. The menu offers a good variety of food that is perfect for sharing, which we like. Excellent value too. Would recommend!
