I booked a couple of rooms for an overnight stay as this was by far the most economical hotel in the area. I had a few qualms about the shared bathroom facilities but that turned out to be fine (shower room very small though) The room at the back of the hotel was pleasant and quiet, all bedding clean and fresh with comfy pillows, I had a good nights sleep. There was coffee, tea, biscuits and bottled water provided. TV reception was good, WiFi connection good too. Breakfast is included in the cost of the room and it was a very nice breakfast, well cooked, hot and fresh. I had the full English, great start to the day. I must mention the staff, all those we encountered were friendly, helpful and welcoming and it made our stay very enjoyable. The hotel is in a great location, situated almost opposite the pier. Parking in the public car park is free overnight from 6pm-8am, we just popped out and put a couple of hours on the car while we had breakfast and checked out. This is a small family run hotel which provided us with a place to stay, it's a wee bit tired in places but I'd definitely stay again.

This hotel is ideally situated on the seafront right in the centre of Deal. The disadvantage is that there is no designated stopping place to be dropped off or hotel parking. However there are Pay and Display carparks nearby but they tend to be expensive. We paid for 2 days parking in advance at Sainsbury's which is about 5 minutes away. It is also CCTV controlled and considerably cheaper than other providers. The building is a bit olde worlde with polished stairs and traditional decor that looks tired. The staff were helpful with the luggage and we were on the 2nd floor with a very comfortable 4' 6" double bed. There was an uninterrupted view of the sea sitting in bed and the lights of France could be seen close up to the window. The room was small but homely with an en suite corner bath and shower which needed a little more power and a refurbishment. Despite being on the main drag there was little noise. There is a characterful bar and dining room on the ground floor. The dining room is bright and again overlooks the sea. The cooked breakfasts are very good indeed and other options are available with muffins and a great selection of yoghurts and cereals. We paid around £90/night which was good value and we shall return.

We stayed here for three nights after arriving by train. This is a family run older style hotel on the sea front almost opposite the pier - it's convenient for buses and trains. The staff and the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was at the back of the hotel overlooking a public car park and there was no noise whatsoever in the night. The rooms are reached by fairly narrow stairs and corridors with awkward doors - there is no lift. Naturally there is no air conditioning instead there are real opening windows! The Wifi was very good. The bed was OK, and we slept well, but the mattress had obviously seen better days. The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was very good, and freshly cooked. We didn't eat at any other time in the hotel.

The location was great, we had a sea view room with a great view of the pier and seafront. Not sure you could get a much better view in Deal!
Lovely, helpful cleaners with great customer service (the best we received in the hotel).
Con’s
The breakfast was below average! Was really shocked as I’ve heard good things about the breakfasts. The mushrooms were massively overcooked and shrivelled, and I’m not sure what I had on my plate would have passed as a sausage elsewhere. The whole plate of food just tasted the same, as though it had all been cooked in the same deep fat fryer. It felt like the chef didn’t care. My partners eggs royale was swimming in Hollandaise and according to him, not tasty. Poor presentation too. Despite breakfast being included, went elsewhere on day 2.
Not that the staff were rude in any way, but the customer service was just non existent. It felt like they just didn’t care, were not motivated, and were doing the bare minimum, except the cleaners who smiled, asked us if everything was ok, and seemed to care about the guest experience more so than front of house / breakfast staff.
Very dated decor, could do with a refresh throughout.
Room very hot despite a fan being provided. Not necessarily the hotels fault, but just something to be aware of if you already struggle with heat.
Summary
This hotel could be a gem - but it feels like the staff don’t care and need some motivation.

Firstly the room had a great view. The downside was the en-suite had a few issues. The shower head was in poor condition with limescale build up and needs renewing. The water also ran down the wall which had limescale in areas. The extractor fan was blocked with dust. The toilet brush was old and looked awful. The window plant box and window ledge had pistachio nut shells amongst them. Plants were in need of watering. Sadly the mattress was a memory foam one and became very hot, so ended up sleeping on top of the duvet. Lastly the vegetarian breakfast option had some poor quality items and only attempted it once.

I booked a single room ,although it was on the 3rd floor ,I had been warned about this. The room was bright spacious ,clean and the bed was very comfortable . The bathroom/toilet next door was perfectly equipped.Breakfast was included , delicious, plentiful, with lots of variety, accompanied by a ray of sunshine named Maria. Having to extend my stay unexpectedly the gentleman at the reception pulled out all the stops to find me another room at an excellent rate. This room on the first floor was even better with on suite and all facilities you could need The bed was excellent. The restaurant which I used twice each time the menu is varied and responsibly priced and plentiful.

We have just left this hotel after a wonderful two night stay. We were a family group of 11 with five rooms. All the rooms were spotless, the shared bathroom facilities were near by and the sea view rooms have spectacular views.
The staff were exceptional. So helpful, kind and patient with the children. When we asked for something, it arrived within minutes. We cannot fault the service.
Breakfast was delicious and hot food was all freshly cooked. A perfect start to a day on the beach. Again, the menu was child friendly and the staff were patient and kind with the children.
We had a meal in the restaurant one of the nights and the service was fantastic. All the food was plentiful, freshly cooked and delicious.
We couldn’t recommend this place more. Thank you for a lovely stay:

Comfortable clean room with a lovely sea view (Room 15) overlooking Deal Pier. This is an old building! Be prepared for two flights of steep stairs to reach this one. It is small, single glazed sash cord windows with heating by way of a very efficient stand alone heater. Corner bath with shower and clever use of space to provide all other bits and pieces. We liked the chairs and table at the window. only moan was TV reception very poor indeed. Take a good book. Breakfast had excellent choice and well prepared

Just returned home after a 3 night stay in The Waterfront at Deal. We were happy to discover we had a sea view room, worth the climb up the 2 flights of stairs lol. The hotel is right on the sea front opposite the pier and very close to the centre of town, We had a comfortable double en suite, which had everything we required for a short stay. The bed was comfortable and we both slept well. The bathroom had a corner bath with an electric shower, not great water pressure but it was fine. Heating, if we needed it was an electric convector heater. The staff were great and all the covid rules were in place to make us feel secure. We also received e mails during our stay just to check up that everything was ok and make sure we had everything we needed. As others have commented, the breakfasts were great with plenty of choice and fresh coffee. We were in Deal visiting family so will be back again, and we would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel. Mark, Maria and the other staff were friendly and attentive and we enjoyed our stay.

Stayed 3 nights last week and wish it had been longer. Great little hotel in a perfect position opposite the pier and with a great view of the sea. The building is quite old so don’t expect all mod cons etc. What you get is very warm welcome from all members of staff. We loved chatting to Adrian and Spencer who run the place between them. Breakfast is excellent, served very efficiently by Maria. We had dinner on two of our three nights and it was good both nights, huge portions. Paid for parking is available immediately behind the hotel or there is free street parking just five minutes walk away……we used both. We would love to go back if the opportunity arises.

Dear James,
We do not have a car park our selves, but there is a municipal car park to the rear of the hotel in Middle Street.
The cost is £1.10p per hour - between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm.
There is however free parking just 5 minutes away on the seafront (towards Sandwich). I can send you more detail's on this, if you wish.
Best Wishes, Mark Stallard (owner)
