Mary's Bed & Breakfast is an absolute gem. It's beautifully furnished, immaculately clean and has a very warm and cozy feel about it. She is a delightful host - very friendly, very interesting and always keen to help.

Late booking for a bit of Rand R for one night. This is our third stay with Mary...and now we feel like family. Nothing's too much trouble and she offers the best medicine for stress...a good laugh! Add to that a smashing brekky, comfy bed and beautiful house you are in the perfect home from home.See you next year Mary .

Went to Mary's unintentionally. Thank goodness there was a free room. Only been in the guest house 5 minutes and felt I had known Mary all my life. What a lovely woman, warm, friendly, welcoming, with a great sense of humour.. She does her very best to fit around YOU and makes YOU feel special. For me the rooms are to die for, clean (not clinical - hate that) comfy and I felt it was home from home. Slept like a log. Infact so comfy I struggled to get out of bed. Huge choice for breakfast. I go to Faversham often and will go to Mary's every time. I have to tick if this is a luxury hotel. For me the answer is yes. Long may she reign.

Arriving at Gladstone House by car, one immediately looks for a parking spot, which can be hard to find, since there is no off-street parking. However, Mary Mackay provides a warm welcome. The rooms are clean, but tired. If I had a Granny, the bedroom is redolent of how she might have given up her room for me...full of knick knacks and keepsakes that should have been boxed up and put away a long time ago. Simply put, the rooms require a make over. Mary doesn't provide an evening meal, but a wide selection of restaurants are to be found in the town centre, which is a short walk away. Mary provides a fresh, well cooked and generous breakfast and she is very pleasant company. There are no hotel chains in the town, so one has to rely on B&B or pub accommodation. Value wise, at £55.00 for one night GH is fair and reasonable.

I came by train and this B&B is two minutes away from the station: it is also two minutes from the main street of Faversham: so it is very convenient for local sight seeing on foot as well as taking the train to Canterbury or further afield. Having said that, my room was exceptionally quiet and restful.
Mary met me at the front door and from the moment I entered her B&B I was welcomed like a member of the family, with help with my luggage and great pot of tea!
Others have described the lovely Victorian house, the scrumptious breakfasts, the super cleanliness, the comforting interior decor and the wonderful beds! But I would also like to emphasize her helpfulness, her kindness and her interest in ensuring that you have the best possible time.
This is not a B&B, it is a 'Home from Home'. Nothing was too much trouble. You will want to go back again and again.

A very relaxed, helpful, warm & friendly hostess - who cooks a great breakfast. A lovely house, with clean room, comfy bed - and a perfect walled garden - with all sorts of weird exotic plants. Wish I could have stayed longer!

We needed last minute accommodation over the Christmas period. Originally Mary was not going to open but when she heard I was heavily pregnant and travelling from Leeds on a donkey, she opened her doors to us!
Seriously though,Mary made us welcome and comfortable, despite rushing around busy with her family Christmas festivities.
Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The house is beautiful, stuffed full with antiques and objects d'art.
Thank- you Mary and we wish you and your family a happy and healthy 2013.

Mary was the most incredible lady who made us feel so comfortable! The breakfast was perfect and so satisfying we really couldn't have asked for more. The room was lovely and cosy with a great en suite with all the mod cons you could need. But the best thing about staying here was Mary who is one of the most welcoming people that me or my boyfriend had ever met as well as being a great laugh! We couldn't reccomend it more!

We stayed with Mary for four nights and had a wonderful time, on the recommendations of many from Faversham. The rooms were cosy and clean with fluffy duvets and somehow there was a perfect balance between having your comfortable privacy and being made to feel very welcome. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and our hostess made us feel quite at home. It is located right near the train station and a short walk from the market square. Cannot recommend it enough!

Jackie W asked a question Jul 2016
Gillingham, England, United Kingdom26 contributions15 helpful votesI'm not too good with stair as I am slightly disabled How many stairs would their be and isthe place close to Preston street as I am visiting for one night as its my sis-in-laws birthday
My goodness Jackie I am so sorry I have only just come across your inquiry while looking for something else on Trip Advisor. I am not sure how Trip Advisor expect me to find a letter without letting me know by email. Anyway HUGE apologies for the silence. For the record my stairs are steep and may not have been appropriate for you, compounded by the fact the there is no downstairs loo.
With apologies
Mary
