Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A proper little gem this campsite. The hosts Karen and Simon are superb and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and check everything is spot on. The location is proper Kent countryside and so relaxing. The facilities are great and kept immaculately clean at all times. There's a nice little pub up the road and Faversham is walkable, although we get a cab back normally. I've been a few times now with a growing number of friends. It's such an asset having this place about half an hour away from me. So glad we found it.

The site is deep in the lovely Kent countryside surrounded by orchards and fields. We enjoyed the vibe in the seaside town of Whitstable, browsed the shops in Faversham particularly Standard Quay area and had an enjoyable afternoon at nearby Belmont House. (This is well worth a visit.) We had a great meal in the Alma Pub which is a five minute walk away from the site. The managers of the site are very friendly and welcoming. The facilities are kept clean and although there are only two showers we didn’t need to queue at any time. There is a separate children’s play area and parking is in the adjoining field leaving the site car free - a pleasant change. There is a dog walking area on site and also over the nearby fields. Unfortunately we didn’t find the site quiet and peaceful as it appears to attract groups. We don’t want to be listening to other people’s music, singing, or loud voices in the evenings and this was not something we had bargained for so, no, we will not be returning.

Visited August bank holiday and site was fully booked with lots of groups so a testament to how well run this site is that our stay was pretty much perfect. Pretty site with cherry trees, festoon lighting, old farm buildings and machinery behind a beautiful old farmhouse in the Kent garden of England. Managers were really welcoming and knowledgeable but also made sure rules were being abided by. Cute shop with essentials and clean and plentiful facilities including a washer, dryer and freezer that were free to use. Good village pub next door that does takeaway on Fri and Sat (pizzas and fish and chips). Loads to do in the local area, we went to Whitstable for a day and then walked across the fields from the site to the Brogdale Cider Festival on the Sunday which was great for all the family. We plan to return next year.

Great welcome from the owners. Guided us to our site area. They had given us a lovely space for our Motorhome and our other family members tents so we could all be together. Facilities were very clean and tidy , great shop on site. Grandchildren loved the ice creams !

Really lovely site, facilities very clean, owners very helpful. Fire pits to hire and logs to buy, nice little on site shop selling ice creams and food essentials. Nicely laid out site, with plenty of space for the kids to play, including a nice football pitch and a pub nearby with a small park outside. Will be revisiting!

We were greeted by Karen and Simon on arrival and made to feel really welcome. As we were a group of six in three tents, Karen suggested making a triangle so we had our own communal space in the middle. The EHU had a long extension lead on it enabling us to do this. The site itself was lovely and clean and had a little shop for your basics (milk/bread/eggs/water). The toilet/shower blocks and the washing up areas were all in good condition and kept clean. Only two showers in each block but over our three night stay, I only waited about 5mins, one morning. There’s a great pub (The Alma) just up the lane which serves food. We ate there twice.

This is a nice, green campsite close to a good village pub but one to which I will not return. We arrived and put up our tent in the rain, got some food but were told we had to move our car 100 metres to an "overflow" field. We were ordered to do it "now", during our meal, and after a long, difficult day. The campsite terms and conditions state clearly that campers are permitted one car per pitch with only second cars going to the overflow field. The requirement to move all cars to the overflow field is contrary to their own contract and was quite unexpected. Each time we needed things from the car we had to trudge 100 m through the rain. Our stay was ruined by this "new" policy and the aggressive and unreasonable way in which it was enforced. It's the first campsite I've stayed in where I was not allowed to park next to my tent. Highly inconvenient! Internet worked about 50% of the time. Bathrooms clean but limited given capacity of the site.

We booked Painters Farm campsite for a weekend away with our friends and family. The managers Karen and Simon were amazing, we actually drove down to view the site before booking as we had questions and wanted to see the site first. They were so welcoming and showed us around the site, answered all our questions as we were a large group and had 3 dogs with us. This was not a problem so we booked the following day. We had 5 couples mixed with Motorhomes and Tents, and they allowed us to be all together and went out of there way so we could all have electric pitches. The correspondence/booking confirmations were all clear and gave us advise which roads to drive for easier access for Motorhomes to the entrance. On arrival they were welcoming and explained everything to us, and showed us to our pitch. We all loved the fact that you could hire a fire pit and purchased to loan the pit and buy wood for a reasonable price. All the toilets/washing facilities are very clean, I see them being cleaned regularly throughout the weekend. Dogs have to be on lead on campsite (of course) but there is a massive field nearby which we could walk to and let the dogs off the leads. All the other campers were really friendly too. A great weekend, we will be looking to return in the future for another weekend away. I thoroughly recommend this site.

Omg the windiest Saturday ever, all the tents were bending and twisting and ducking and diving, but we all survived the night. Now back to the campsite, the hosts Karen and Simon were amazing, strawberries were so tempting in their new shop, stocking things that are essentials that you may forget. They have changed a few things since we last came, all for the better. The hosts really are so very very friendly and always have time for a natter. So if you see them chilling go chill with them. 💯 we will be back again.
