We have just spent the night here to belatedly celebrate our big anniversary. We were given an upgrade to room 12, a huge room overlooking the street The staff were all wonderful, extremely helpful and pleasant, given that this is now their ‘new norm’. Social distancing was observed, hand sanitisers were plentiful around the bar and restaurant. They have had to remove certain items from bedrooms due to the COVID situation but made it clear at check-in that we could request anything we needed eg kettle, shampoo, shower gel etc. They thoughtfully bagged up a selection of ‘goodies’ and left it outside our room. We stayed on a dinner, B&B deal which was great value, so much so that we have persuaded our daughter to book a room here with her boyfriend for his birthday treat next week! Faversham is a lovely little market town, beautiful buildings everywhere in the centre. We took a walk down to the creek and had a wander around the market stalls. We would definitely stay again!

Stayed here overnight for a birthday treat. The room was absolutely gorgeous with a beautiful spacious bathroom. Although the building itself is very old, according to the history pamphlet in the room it was first built in 1396, the room and bathroom were very modern. Nice touches, eg box of tissues on either side of the bed, emergency toothbrush and toothpaste and razor, and it also had a safe, (very rare in UK hotels) and iron and ironing board. The food was amazing, very well cooked and staff very friendly and efficient. They had a group that night but we didn't stay as it was completely rammed, but plenty of other pubs to visit for a nightcap. The only hiccup was that we were at the front of the pub and immediately below us was the dining room, the door leading to the dining room was very heavy and every time someone went through it banged which was very loud in our bedroom, obviously this ceased when the pub shut but started again about 7.00 o'clock when the staff came on. My husband did mention it to staff so maybe they will sort it. This was the only problem. Also, breakfast was fantastic. Would highly recommend.

We have just returned from a three night stay in the sun inn. We stayed in the family room which looks lovely with the wooden beams and period features.
The main bed is good but the sofa bed for the children is a little uncomfortable.
We paid for bed and breakfast and this was an ok standard but I would have eaten elsewhere had it not been included in the price as you could get better value elsewhere.
We ate in the restaurant on the three evenings we were there and the food was a far better standard and more care had been taken in the dishes we ordered. The evening meals were very tasty and well presented and we enjoyed them all three times. The only thing was the deserts were limited, The same on the three nights And quite expensive for the size of portions.
The young lad working as a waiter in the restaurant was very polite and was a very joyful character.
My biggest criticism of our stay was that we had a tab for all three nights in the restaurant and we paid in full at the end of the evening but when we checked out we were charged for a round of drinks that supposedly hadn’t been paid for and that weren’t put on the tab.
So after paying a lot of money for the room and eating and drinking in the restaurant every evening it was a bit disappointing to be charged for something we thought we had paid for although it was only £13.10 it wasn’t great to be asked for more money.
It put a bit of a dampener on the stay as we couldn’t prove either way if they had been paid for.

My Husband and I stayed at the Sun Inn for 3 nights over Easter. We parked in a very nearby carpark called Partridge Lane and used the Ringo App. This is a fantastic place to stay. We booked in just before 3 o'clock and had a couple of drinks. There is a wide selection of beers, wine and other drinks. The staff were polite, friendly and accommodating. Our room was excellent. The bed was very comfortable and had good bedding. The bathroom was very clean and we were given a good selection of complimentary toiletries. The décor of the room was a high standard, with a new carpet and everything we needed, with plenty of coat hangers etc. Our room looked out onto the outside seating dining area, but we were not bothered by noise, as there was good double glazing. We were offered the opportunity to reserve a place in the restaurant every evening, and given priority as we were staying there. We didn't dine in the restaurant in the evenings as we were out a lot, we would highly recommend that you do book if you want to eat in, as the restaurant was very busy. We had breakfast 3 times and it was excellent, The staff were always on hand to help, and the house keeping staff were always helpful when we asked for extra milk etc. The room was cleaned daily and there was a good selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Highly recommend this beautiful Inn, and will be visiting again :)

First of all the accommodation, I feel sometimes this word is over used in places we've stayed, not here, the staff are nothing but accommodating. Even from initial point of booking we felt so welcomed and looked after, we are a family of 5 with a rambunctious boy but never at any point was this made an issue. The fact it's set in the most beautiful town of Faversham is one thing but this pub/inn is 2nd to none. The room that was stayed in was spotless and absolutely stunning, with natural wood Beams and so much history within its 4 walls.
The pub is gorgeous. The staff are amazingly friendly kind and helpful. The breakfast was the best I've ever had and the most choice in the menu. I cannot stress how much we enjoyed our stay. We will be visiting again. As soon as we possibly can. I absolutely insist that If you want to have a great stay. You must visit the sun inn.
Cheap at twice the price xxxxx

Definitely a 5 star trip. We were not sure what to expect in these restricted times. However HUGE PRAISE to everyone at the Sun Inn, Faversham. After sanitizing our hands, we were escorted to a dedicated check in area.a brand new pen was provided for signing. Room was beautiful, overlooking the street which was great for people watching. Excellent one way system in bar, sympathetic perspex screens separating tables. Perfect distancing with all staff, table service at all times. Wrapped cutlery brought to us on a tray. Breakfast superb, as was two meals we had including a delicious supper eaten in garden one evening. THANK YOU to all the wonderful people who truly made the trip wonderful. We will be back.

We booked using the excellent £99 bed, breakfast and evening meal deal on at the moment and every aspect of our stay was excellent.

We parked in a car park round the corner and after a couple of minutes walk we were welcomed into the hotel by a smiling face.

Covid rules were very strict, but applied in a friendly way and you just got a gentle reminder if you got something wrong.

Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. We were instructed that if we required toiletries, tea and coffee making equipment we should ask at reception. We went out for a couple of hours and found them requested items just outside our room.

We enjoyed a drink outside in the garden and then had an excellent meal that was served by a friendly waitress - all the staff we met at this hotel were spot on and friendly.

We had a comfortable nights sleep and left after a delicious breakfast in the morning.

Highly recommended!!

Top tip: The hotel can offer a voucher for £5 for 24 hour parking in the local car park, rather than, as we did, pay for the car park twice - once up to 6pm in the evening and then from 8am the next morning.

Just returned from a very pleasant couple of days in Faversham, Kent.
We were are an established walking group of six couples and fancied a bit of walking in the Kent countryside.
We wanted to be central in Faversham itself for the amenities and history the town has to offer.
Well the Sun Inn couldn’t have been more perfect for our needs. All of the rooms we occupied, 6 no., were excellent in quality, cleanliness and size and being an Inn from the 14th Century were full of character.
The Inn is situated centrally in the town just a few minutes walk from the Market Square. Although the Inn is in a pedestrianised street a long term car park is again only a few minutes walk away.
We stayed on a B&B basis and I must admit the breakfast was excellent with a very good range of food available, all cooked fresh and hot. We actually did have dinner at the Inn the first night and again it was excellent with really a very extensive menu.
A mention must be made to the quality of the staff within the Inn, all were very courteous and very friendly. congratulations to Manager Brendan and his staff and a special mention to Shaza and Little Josh who looked after all our needs.
Our first visit to Faversham, I don’t think it will be our last. Without doubt we all agreed The Sun Inn will certainly well worth another visit in hopefully the not too distant future.

Exceptional is every way, the family room was very clean and the 3 of of had plenty of room. We had a bite to eat in the evening and the food was so good and the breakfast in the morning was perfectly cooked. The measures put in place due to Covid 19 make you feel very safe, would highly recommend and next time we’re in Faversham we will be going back.

The sun inn is a lovely traditional pub with a modern decor and friendly staff. The room we stayed in was small but had everything you would need. Unfortunately the bed was also small my husbands legs perturbed out the end of the bed. The room was also very hot, even with us trying to turn the radiator off and having the window open. Every time you used the bathroom the pipes were very noisy.
So we did not have a restful nights sleep.
The breakfast was cooked fresh to order and was really tasty but was lacking in any fresh fruit and yogurts.
