Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great hotel, great character and the staff were brilliant too. Posh breakfast!! Would have given 5 stars except the wet room shower drain was blocked ( as was the sink) so was unable to shower in the morning. Too late to get anything fixed as I told them on leaving.

The pub is lovely, nice atmosphere! The room is equally as lovely - we booked it well in advance and forgot we had looked one of the nicer rooms. The staff were attentive, breakfast was great. However, the walls between room 14 and 12 are like paper, and sadly we had very loud inconsiderate neighbours. Waking us up drunkenly at 01:30 and continuing to make as much noise as humanly possible until 03:30am - then woke up at 07:00 with a laugh that will go through me for the rest of my life. I completely understand that inconsiderate neighbours are not the pubs fault however I feel something could be done to insulate the wall between the two rooms, so I didn’t have to lay in bed and listen to every painful and gory detail of my neighbours drunken hotel stay. Sadly this would put me off staying here again - as I can’t have my nights sleep betting on the people around me being considerate human beings. No. 12 if you’re reading this - you’re the worst.

Loverly hotel with excellent food and friendly staff. Rooms comfortable and well maintained but as previously stated some rooms require climbing a steep staircase not recommended for those with walking difficulties. Beware those arriving by car for two reasons. 1). Do not use Google maps to find the hotel it is in a pedestrian walkway. Google map tries to take you into West Street which is not accessible by car so you end up driving around an outer circle passing the two pay and stay car parks that are recommended by the hotel. The one at the back of the hotel Central car park is a short stay car park used for dropping off luggage. For longer stays use the Partridge lane car park which is a walk away from the hotel. Be advised although it’s £6.90 for 24 hrs parking you cannot extend the parking by app from the hotel. I had to get up and walk to the car park at 6am to find the telephone number to phone “RingGo” to extend my parking for another 24hours.

Professional and personal service from a great team who ensure a perfect, regular visitor experience. Nothing too much trouble. Shepherd Neame's deals/offers (free meal on your birthday) don't hurt. Comfortable, rambling old pub with garden areas and a first class kitchen. When staying overnight (worth doing) sensibly use the Thomas Road (Partridge Lane?) long-stay car park which operates a 24-hour payment period and is only steps away from The Sun. Everything about this hostelry rings true. Not staying here is to deny yourself a great experience.

Myself and a friend stayed in a twin bedded room at the Sun Inn in July 2023. We were given an extremely warm and professional welcome by a young man. Who offered us a drink and asked if we needed our bags looking after. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a large bathroom and a shower that worked perfectly. The bed was modern and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent with cereals. Fruit juices with the option of a full English breakfast or whatever else you wanted. We sampled the evening meal on our last night and chose the Roast Lamb which was delicious and cooked to perfection. All the staff at the Sun Inn were professional and friendly. The young man who greeted us . A young lady called Tia, and the very efficient lady who served us breakfast and indeed the evening meal. At £57.50 each including a full English breakfast I think the Sun Inn is excellent value . It is a very old hotel and you can appreciate its old world charms . But it has been tastefully modernized, and I would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone who is looking for accommodation in Faversham. A town which has charm, character and history. Just like the Sun Inn.

Only stayed one night as we attended a party nearby. The room was lovely, very clean and had all the amenities you need. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good. The only downside is the car park… definitely need to use the long stay car park (3 minute walk away)…. Would definitely stay here again.

Very comfortable and well furnished rooms. Great menu with well presented food in delightful surroundings. Make sure you check the new car park regs behind the hotel - you'll need to feed the meter through the night ! Better to use the long term car park two streets away.

I treated my fiance to a night away at this lovely pub. I got a 2 course dinner, bed and breakfast deal via Shepherd Neame and booked an upgraded room and it was excellent value for £145. Our room was very spacious, with a huge bed, spacious bathroom and our own private courtyard, where we could have a drink outside. Dinner was very good: we had fresh scallops and a pork rillette style pate to start, then hake with chorizo potatoes and chicken in a creamy sauce. Everything was well cooked we had great service from Shaz, who made us feel treasured. After a good night's sleep, we came down to a lovely choice of cooked breakfasts as well as fresh fruit and cereals. Brendan, the manager was on duty serving breakfast and he was so helpful and welcoming. A really great stay.
