Only a few miles from Sissinghurst Gardens, at Wilderness Bed & Breakfast, guests can have the benefit of their own self contained accommodation and stay in either The Orchard Room or The Hopper's Room. Both of the rooms are separate to the 17th-century former farmhouse and having their own showers they are therefore ideal for long or short stays. We also have Bramley The Shepherd's Hut whic has been hand made by a local Kent craftsman in traditional style with its oak axles and metal wheels using original 19th century plans. No longer a humble hut for a shepherd during the lambing season it’s been brought up to date though as it is fully insulated from the elements with en-suite and high pressure shower, Wi-Fi and a fridge for your evening wine!

It was pitch-dark when we came to our "cottage in the garden". But we immediately felt at home in the large room with the lovely bed. We enjoyed the silence immensely and appreciated our stay - also because we felt that the hosts had really gone to lengths to make our stay perfect.

We stayed in the Shepherd's Hut at the Wilderness B&B and had a fantastic weekend. It is so cosy and the owner has such great attention to detail including our name on the door when we arrived, hot water bottles, wood for the indoor burner, breakfast all ready the day before so that you can have it at your leisure and many other details that made our stay just brilliant. We ordered the supper boards which are a fantastic idea and great value and spent one of the evenings eating al fresco with the firepit on-the other was spent at the nearby Three Chimneys Pub where we had a delicious meal. Victoria, the owner, was available to answer questions etc. It really was the ultimate romantic weekend escape - I thoroughly recommend.

We stayed two nights in The Hopper's Room with the sole purpose of relaxing and visiting Sissinghurst Castle Garden. The little cabin was really cute, just like the pictures on the website, with a relatively spacious room and a very comfortable bed. For supper we could order a nice cheese and charcuterie plate from our welcoming hostess and the continental breakfast included very good homemade apple juice. Lunch at the nearby gastropub The Three Chimneys was another highlight of our stay. We lacked absolutely nothing and can warmly recommend The Wilderness to anyone looking for a unique and pleasant accommodation in Kent. We would definitely book again!

We have stayed at The Wilderness B&B several times now. We just love the peaceful and tranquil location. It’s a great base for exploring nearby attractions such as Sissinghurst Castle, Leeds Castle and the Kent countryside. All the rooms are comfy and cosy with beautiful views of the orchard. We really enjoyed the delicious continental breakfast in the room each morning as well. It was very relaxing. We’ll definitely be back again soon! Thank you Victoria and David for making us feel so much at home.

Fabulous, quiet location but near to plenty of places to visit. It is a short drive to a great choice of places to eat. The room itself was very spacious with a large bathroom. There was no cooked breakfast but we had plenty to eat with a choice of cereals, toast croissants etc, all left in the room with a table to eat at. It meant that we could eat when we wanted and maintained extra privacy which was great.

The setting is so peaceful. Good weather would have made it even better (sadly we weren’t blessed with that) but it was lovely to be able to have the doors to our room open and listen to birdsong and sheep. The bed was huge and comfy and the breakfast was great - it was nice to have the freedom to enjoy this at a table in our room. Lovely place to stay with many interesting places to visit nearby such as Sissinghurst, Tenterden and Rye.

Stayed 1 night in The Shepherd’s Hut. Beautifully designed and cozy with a luxurious bed. High quality continental breakfast was in room ready for the next morning and was plentiful with great variety including cereal/granola, breads/pastry and homemade fruit/yoghurt pots. My arrival time needed o be very flexible and the host was very accommodating. Unlike others, I had no problem finding Wilderness - Waze took me straight to the door. Highly recommended for something a bit different and more than a touch of class!

We stayed in the Shepherd’s Hut and it was fabulous. There’s not a lot of space, obviously, because it’s a shepherd’s hut, but it’s in a lovely setting in the trees at the end of the garden and the breakfasts (cereal, berries, croissants) were great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

What a lovely place to stay! Very quiet, lovely grounds and great breakfast. Victoria is an excellent hostess who likes to ensure guests have everything they need. Hoppers is a superb dwelling, tastefully and comprehensivly furnished. This will be our go to place for Headcorn!
