The Weald of Kent is a beautifully maintained 18 hole parkland golf course and hotel set in rolling Kent countryside with far reaching views, just a short drive from Maidstone & Ashford. With many elevations, lakes and hazards, the golf course is designed to challenge the most confident of players, but the well-maintained and wide fairways are also forgiving for the less experienced player. The course suits all levels of play and is open all year round to members, visitors and hotel residents. The Weald of Kent is much more than just a picturesque golf course. The substantial clubhouse with its views over the lakes and course features a bar, restaurant, function suites, conference rooms, a large patio area, and the newly opened gym. Our facilities are open to the general public and visitors are always welcome. We serve food all day, every day and are particularly proud of our Sunday Carvery.

I lunched here on 13 June. The food was great and £23.50 for a starter, main, dessert, cheese and coffee represents unbeatable value for money. The staff were pleasant and efficient, and the duty manager attentive. My lunch-guest was in a wheelchair but we had no navigational issues in the venue. I'll be back!

We all had a great time for our visit this weekend. Staff all very helpful and nothing too much trouble. The course was very dry but very forgiving as various standards within our group. Stayed in the lodge over the back which was a five minute walk. Rooms quite small so glad we wasn't sharing as originally planned. Food all very nice but as meals prebooked took ages to get to the table especially breakfast took a good 25minutes to get the breakfast after receiving the pot of tea. That a side all very good and we shall return again

I stayed at the Weald of Kent Hotel for two nights to attend a wedding at the venue. I was treated great by the staff who were all attentive and helpful. I stopped in a double lodge room which was an adequate size for just myself. The double bed might be a bit small if two people are in it though. The newly installed air con in the room was wonderful as outside it was a very hot few days. The rooms in the lodge are lovely and quiet so you get a great sleep at night. The breakfast was tasty and of a good quality with fantastic service. I attended the bar on my first evening after going for thai food in Maidstone and found great helpful staff in a relaxing atmosphere. I did have a problem with my mobile phone signal but that's not the fault of the hotel but they did everything to help me when I found I had car problems. The lady working on reception (sorry I forgot to ask your name) needs huge thanks for helping me with this. The wedding I attended was fantastic in a lovely indoor and outdoor setting. Again great staff and overall a wonderful experience. Its definitely one place to consider if you are getting married locally. Yes so overall I would recommend the Weald of Kent for both the hotel and as a wedding venue.

2 night stay. Comfortable double room with lovely views over golf course. Staff friendly & happy to help.
Ate in on site restaurant first night & it was 50minutes before 2 starters were served then a further 30minutes for main course & they got order wrong. We then had to wait 25minutes for correct order which I think should have been a priority! The sirloin steak & chips was very overpriced at £22. My Dad was really looking forward to a pudding but couldn't face waiting a long time & then it being incorrect.
Breakfast next day took 50minutes for a cooked breakfast to come & again order incorrect. Breakfast 2nd day wait only 25minutes but again order incorrect. Food is generally good but long wait & I really can't fathom what the problem is in the kitchen.
Its a shame because it is a perfectly acceptable room in beautiful grounds. Hotel recpetion & cleaning staff good.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback. This is valuable to us. Please accept my apologies for the experience you had. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances we were left short staffed in comparison to our standard level of staffing on this evening. Due to this the management team were informing guests of the wait. We do cook all our food fresh to order so please accept our apologies for the delay in getting this to you. Breakfast again we do cook to order but accept that your waiting time was too long so apologies for this the following morning. The rooms are comfortable and we are fortunate to have such stunning grounds. Thank you for the compliments on your experience with the reception team and housekeeping. We look forward to hopefully seeing you again.

This is our second stay in about one month. Our first stay for one night went very well as we were put in the main hotel (room 30). The room was very clean with a modern shower, the staff great and the hotel was handy for visiting friends and family. Encouraged by this we booked two nights. When we arrived, we discovered that we had been put in the Lodge (room 6) which is a long way from the restaurant, the bar and reception. This was not a problem but when we got there the corridor at our end smelt horrible and this got worse when we got into the room. Imagine the smell of a damp shed combined with the very distinct smell of cat pee around the bedside cabinet. The smell was so strong that the cleaners' should have reported but when I checked at reception no one had. As we were not spending much time in the room I did not mention it until we checked out and the receptionist said she would pass my comments on and have it checked. However, my impression was that something fairly serious had gone wrong at the far end of the corridor which wasn't going to be an easy fix. The shower in this room was old and harder to get the water to the right temperature. Add the fact that we were woken at 7 am by golfers in the corridor shouting out and knocking on doors and this was probably our last stay at the hotel. I did mention to the receptionist that this had put us off staying when we come up in a fortnight's time but this didn't seem to matter and no manager was called to discuss this. My advice would be to make sure you do not get put in the lodge when you book. Room numbers over 30 will definitely be okay.

Thank you for your review, we apologies that your stay wasn't up to the same standard as your previous one. Unfortunately when booking through an outside website the rooms are allocated automatically. On your first stay you booked a superior room which is in the closer hotel and your 2nd visit a standard room which is in the Lodge. The room style and distance is reflected in the price. Had we been aware sooner we would have made every effort to make your stay more comfortable for you. We do have signage up asking guests to be respectful of others and move around quietly as we understand guests do not want to be disturbed too early. If you do decide to book again please call us directly and we can advise on availability and type of room. We have had this matter looked into.

Stayed overnight with a group of friends to celebrate New Year. Hotel accommodation excellent value for money and easy parking. The dinner was really nicely prepared and there were 6 courses followed by a singer then disco. Next morning we enjoyed a lovely breakfast. During our stay all staff were totally efficient, pleasant and helpful. Thank-you to everyone.

ten of us booked for the new year's eve dinner dance and overnight stay. Due to Covid, many of the people cancelled (including two of our ten) but the team made the best of it and arranged the tables accordingly, so that it looked like none were misssing. The food was delicious and served over five courses and the staff very friendly and efficient. There were balloons, streamers and "wand type bombs" for the strike of midnight, covering the place in short strips of silver ribbon. The music was a bit tired - all the old ones such as Jive Bunny, Sweet Caroline, Daydream Believer, etc., but overall a good night
However, if you are thinking of staying, do not book the lodge, which is a 5 minute walk from the main building. Like the music, they are tired and in need of an upgrade, small and compact The toilet seat (room 5) is stained and the toilet itself too close to the wall for comfort. The extractor fan sounded like the twelve drummers drumming!

Came for lunch with a girlfriend, sat down at a dirty table and had to ask for it to be cleaned, had cigarette ash wiped directly onto me by the member of staff. Ordered a bottle of wine and had to ask for a cooler and clean glasses as they were filthy. No apology at all. Ordered food and all I can say is that it was very average and would say that it’s over priced for what we received. Although the patio area is very nice, lovely view of what seems to be a well looked after golf course I think they need to invest more time in looking after their customers. Very disappointed.

Bit disappointed with our stay. We thought we were booking a hotel but what we got was a grown floor room in a two story wooden lodge. Separate to main building round the back. Our window looked out onto carpark area for the lodge. The room itself was nice. Clean with plenty of white towels. Small TV on the wall. The reception staff were friendly, helpful when checking in. However breakfast - what is your room number? yes, you have paid so you can sit down. Orange juice/ yoghurt/ cereal/ breads were on a help your self bases like many places. Cooked breakfast order taken. Long wait followed of 1/2 hour. We could see another table asking how long? next as there was no numbers on these tables the wrong customers were offered our breakfast before another waiter said wrong table. This happened to other tables also. The breakfast was cold,2 x bacon, hard centred fried eggs. 1/2 a large mushroom and other bits. left feeling disappointed.

Good points:
Lovely setting, Staff very welcoming and friendly apart from 1 will mention her later.

Bad points:
Tiny bathroom, child size toilet, toilet roll holder too close you bang ur arm when using toilet, poor shower no power and water very changeable,
distinct seweage smell in bathroom.

No charge points next to the bed all opposite side of the room.

There's a weird shelf that runs along the bed which you will bang ur arm on all night.

Overall the rooms were dated and small for what we paid.

The restaurant menu is very limited if your vegetarian or vegan.

The female breakfast manager/ supervisor was beyond rude if your going to slag guests off don't do it in their earshot very unprofessional and unnecessary.

Would we return absolutely not have paid a lot more money and had a better sized room and better breakfast service.

I’d say that wheelchair access is possible the room immediately on the left if disabled friendly. The aspect isn’t particularly attractive - across the car parking area. I hope this helps. The staff are very friendly so if you have further questions they are sure to help.
Answer from Tim C
Thanks for your question, our average beer price is £4 and our wines are sold at £4-£4.50 a glass based on a medium size. Both our bars are priced the same. Best Wishes Reception Team
