#1 of 1 special B&B in Margate
Location

Value
Expect a warm welcome at this boutique B&B by the sea - in popular Cliftonville, part of Margate's vibrant arts/cafe/bar/music scene. All the rooms have en-suite bathrooms and are thoughtfully decorated. These comfortable rooms have a well stocked hospitality tray. Breakfast in the garden room is cooked fresh to your requirements from local produce and will satisfy hungriest appetites. We have a great veggie and vegan menu and always serve good coffee and tea. The marmalade is made from oranges grown in the house and bread is baked daily. Our croissants are legendary. You can sit in the walled garden and drink a beverage of choice from the bar but don't step on the tortoises! We grow hops here and take the harvest to Time and Tide brewery in Deal, as part of a community garden initiative. They make delicious beer which we stock here. Our nearest bar is owned by the Libertines. They also do rather good food there- who would have thought? We have live acoustic music concerts most Thursday in our studio room and there is jazz every third Wednesday. Performers come from all over the country to play here. Check the listing on the website for details. Thursday evenings are livestreamed so you can get a glimpse of what to expect on our Rosslyn Court YouTube channel. There are regular fun workshops here - step/clog dance with live music, French/Flemish/Breton live music and dance, Harmonica and others on occasion at performers suggestions although we are looking into a monthly scratch band. Please see our website for details. We can offer other suggestions for things to do in Margate and the surrounding area, not just sitting on the beach or swimming in the famous Cliftonville tidal pool with its community sauna. There's loads to do within walking distance for people of all ages and interests. I hope we see you here soon. Morag, Rosslyn Court, Margate

We had two rooms for one night for one of the regular folk music events. This is a unique venue and Bed and Breakfast. The rooms were very clean and cozy with comfortable beds. Breakfast was great and plentiful. Many thanks to Morag and Chris for their hospitality. We look forward to visiting in the Summer and getting to know the area better.

Property's Favourite Review
My husband and I stayed here back in June earlier this year. I am disabled and it’s difficult finding anywhere good for me. At Rosslyn court, we had a very comfortable, well appointed room overlooking the front of the house. We always found on street parking near the house and I was able to store my electric wheelchair in the music room downstairs. Morag was a fantastic host and makes you feel very welcome. Breakfast was amazing and very generous portions. There are lots of little touches that make your stay so much better. We weren’t keen on the area around the house (don’t be put off) but sitting in the back garden, you could be anywhere. It’s a little oasis. The Weatherspoons pub at Ramsgate has an amazing sea frontage and is a really stunning building. There is some wonderful buildings there and I really wish we could have explored it more. I would recommend here to anyone -we really felt we were leaving our friends behind.

This is a comfortable family house with three guest bedrooms. Double, twin and single giving good choice. The hosts were welcoming and informative. Very good breakfast choice also able to cater for vegans. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back.

I came here to perform a solo gig on June 1st. Where to start! It's a brilliant place. As a musician/singer it was heaven. All basics completely excellent and nothing missed out. But the details are amazing and these just made me feel really important! Little things welcomed me such as a small bottle of marsala and an amaretti biscuit in the bedroom, tea when I arrived, a custom-made breakfast, beautiful and interesting art on the walls... I could go on. There are some quirky and unusual things going on - as well as being a top music venue (artists queue up to play here), there are tortoises roaming the walled garden, marmalade is made from oranges grown on Morag and Chris's own trees, they grow hops here and purchase tomatoes from local sources. By far the best of all are the hosts themselves - Morag and Chris. They make this the friendliest ever B&B I've ever stayed at. They are sooooo welcoming and lovely. They did their utmost to make me feel comfortable and relaxed. This meant I could concentrate on the gig as everything else was sorted. Morag and Chris have made this place beautiful, real and alive. It's special. Thank you for making this lovely place! It's at the top of my list for a looked-after stopover.

Never been so well treated in this country as we were at Rosslyn Court, Morag and Chris are unbelievably kind and will make you feel home, plus you might get to listen to some beautiful live music (potentially even from Morag herself!). Stayed for a few nights and had the chance to jam, explore around the beautiful Margate town and already can’t wait to come back again! Best BnB in the whole country, if not in the world! 🇧🇷🪗🎶

As a solo traveller, Rosslyn Court was ideal. I chose it for its location to the sea front, and as it turned out, the bus stops location for the LOOP bus service to and from the surrounding areas. Although there isn't any parking at the property, I was extremely fortunate to secure a parking space on the road opposite. Morag and Christopher are friendly and welcoming and have gone to a lot of trouble to ensure your stay is comfortable. There is a well stocked honesty bar, and you're able to bring/order food to eat only in the dining room. I had the Tracey Emin room, a twin, which was spacious with beds and seating. In the wardrobe were bathrobes to use, a nice touch. Continental breakfast, which was very nice, was served to you, which I appreciated. A full English is available at an extra cost. If you appreciate music you are in for a treat, as I was on one of my nights stay. Morag hosts intermate music events in the studio - check out the website. If I return to the area in the future Rosslyn Court would always be my first choice. Lastly, Morag has tortoises who I can vouch for, receive the best care and attention, not to mention the best food!

Hi Thank you for this lovely review. You are right about the usefulness of the Loop bus that goes from Margate to Broadstairs and Ramsgate in both directions every 10 minutes. You hit a great concert, Snottledogs, (shanty) plus pirate and beatbox folk! ... that boarded on riotous at times!...till 9.30 when we all went home to cocoa, hahaha. The baby staying in the room above slept through and his parents hardly heard a thing through the floor, but were watching the livestream! You had a good old walk around the area and had great weather which helped. Thank you for your kind words, I look forward to seeing you here again. Morag

Love, love, love this hidden gem. One minute walk to sea, clean and airy rooms. Morag, host is such a warm, great character. Slip downstairs for live music (which is usually over 9.30pm) and back upstairs to bed. What's not to like. Cracking restaurants in Margate too. It's my favourite sea getaway from London .
