Spent 3 nights at Doghouse B&B over the Aug Bank Holiday with my boyfriend and pup (Forrest). Hands down one of the best B&Bs we’ve ever stayed in! The rooms are tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. No detail has been overlooked, everything supplied is of the highest quality. We slept extremely well as the mattress, bedsheets and pillows are all extremely soft plus the rooms are very quiet. All the breakfasts we had were delicious – my personal highlight was the tofu scramble. The bathroom was huge and luxurious with eco-friendly body wash, shampoo and conditioner supplied. The hosts (Fe, Mel) are super welcoming and make sure you and your pup have everything you need. This was the first time we've taken our pup on holiday and we couldn't have picked a better place, he was completely spoiled from the moment he arrived with customised handmade dog biscuits, a memory foam dog bed and his own breakfast delivered in the mornings. We also used their dog sitting service, this meant we were able to go out in the evening and get dinner while our pup made friends with Thierry (Fe and Mel’s dog).

Spent two nights here in late July 2021 with our dog. Lovely spacious room, fairly easy (~20 min) walk down to the old town and a short walk down to a dog friendly beach (and be careful of the dog restrictions on the beach, we got fined down at Botany Bay for taking our dog into a restricted area despite there being no signs). Owners were fantastically helpful and friendly, recommending places to go and looking after the dog one evening when we went out for dinner. And all the breakfast options we tried - full English, breakfast bagel and the pancakes - were incredible.

Great location for walking into Margate centre, 5 mins from the beach front and a great walk either down in the beach (keep an eye on tide time) or along the cliff. Near to the lido too. Mel and Fe the owners are on site, friendly and helpful. They kept in touch before our arrival. Breakfast needs to be preordered and it was great - we had full English and the wonderful pancakes with lovely berries, tonnes of maple syrup and bacon. You set the time and it’s there on the dot. High quality products in the room with the softest bed linen and this may sound odd Andrex loo roll (so many places have cheap thin stuff). There’s even an honesty bar which came in handy for a cheeky Pimms and G&T. If you’ve got your dog with you and book a dog unfriendly restaurant Mel and Fe will even dog sit for you (they were great and sent us photos so we knew he was happy).

Our stay in the Doghouse Margate in June 2021 was brilliant. The house itself is beautifully decorated and presented, with comfortable beds for both us and for our dog. Above all, it was surprisingly peaceful and quiet despite being minutes from the beach.
Personalised dog treats, exceptional breakfasts, and flawless service from the hosts - we would definitely recommend staying here immediately.
The location is perfect for either walking into Margate itself or venturing up the coast to Botany Bay or Broadstairs.

Great hosts greeted us warmly and both our rooms were lovely, although we only stayed one night , it couldn’t have been better or more welcoming . The rooms are modern, fresh and minimalist and the en suite with its rain-head shower in our bedroom was a delight. Best of all, our dog was really welcomed with dedicated home baked treats and I have never seen him eat his breakfast (served to our rooms ) so fast !
Breakfast for us was also delicious and whilst the coffee was a bit weak for our taste, everything else was perfect. Having a street front bay windowed room and not being used to a seaside atmosphere, we found the seagulls were very noisy, but earplugs were available if wanted.
I guess that’s what the seaside is all about.
Definitely recommended, really lovely.

We spent 4 nights at the Doghouse in Margate and it was picture perfect! The B&B is beautifully done up with a beautiful bathroom and good quality amenities. The room is a 15 minute walk from the town center and the beach is just down the road. They provide you with the finest recommendations for food, drink and activities around the area. The breakfast options are delicious and it's great to be able to choose the meals online. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Our stay was perfect; the room was spacious and spotless, hosts unobtrusive and welcoming, breakfast was delivered to our room and both well cooked and delicious. Definitely the place to stay in Margate. Thank you both.

One of the best B&Bs we have stayed at, the rooms are beautifully decorated and immaculately clean and they have thought of all the extras you could need whilst you are there including chargers and an umbrella! The breakfast was fab with lots of choice and nice to be able to eat it in your own room. We took our dog with us and he was spoilt with his own breakfast and personalised dog treats, they even provided a bed so we didn't need to worry about taking his own. The location is great, about a 20 min walk into the old town/harbour either along the waterfront or down Northdown Road where there are a number of good restaurants/cafes etc. Would highly recommend!

Delicious breakfast that was made with care and craft.

There are lots of neat details and lovely touches in The Thea Room: the bedrooms painted floorboards and rug had a scandi-chic vibe. Local brand Haeckels bath salts were proved for the free standing bath. Small soft pillows and cosy sheets made a big difference.

Overall DH is beautifully decorated and clean. The warm service was much appreciated.

Mel, Fe and Thierry were the perfect hosts! We received a super warm welcome even though we arrived early to what is such a beautiful and peaceful home. Running a B&B during Covid must be such a challenge, but they made it seem so effortless and we were able to completely relax during our stay at the doghouse.

Everything from the handwritten wall of Margate’s best food/drink/trips, to some of the best pancakes we’ve ever eaten! We can’t thank Mel and Fe enough for facilitating such a perfect stay in Margate.
