Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

stayed 1 night in rooms 9 and 10..had a fantastic sea view and very clean..the host Richard was ultra nice and even put out plates after recommending the best fish and chips shop in Margate( delicious).location superb , literally on sea front and next to station , and topped off with free play arcade machine downstairs, introducing track and field and paperboy to my kids . would highly recommend this hotel

We had the top floor room which was £100. a night. It was worth the money compared to other hotels in the area. Great view of the beach from the room. We would definitely book this hotel again when visiting Margate next time. We were a couple visiting Margate for a concert at Dreamland.

We were very pleased with our stay at The Burlington. Great location with walking distance to the beach and centre of town. We found some minor issues which can easily be resolved. We think it’s important to highlight these as it would improve future guests stay: There was no hot water in the en-suite basin. We managed by pulling the hose from the shower to fill up the sink. Towels were on the threadbare side, and there was only 2 of them with no hand towel available. The stairwell up to the room had no lights making it difficult to manoeuvre up and down,- we managed but it was a slow climb and concerned about fire safety and falls. The Burlington offer free wi-if, however no password was displayed. Tea and sugar supplies could be replenished too. As mentioned, the issues stated did not affect our stay, but feel that this could be valued feedback for The Burlington. Overall we had a very lovely stay and would love to come back one day.

I just got home from a week in Margate. My family and I originally had an Airbnb and were due to get the train home on Saturday morning. However due to the rail strike we found ourselves in a stressful situation. After trying to find rooms everywhere we could think of I popped into the Burlington and was offered a room immediately, I explained there were 8 of us and was offered another room also, so I went and gathered the troops who had set up camp in Costa and we all marched off to check in. We had a fabulous first night there and on the second night were also offered a third room which we took. Richard was very friendly and very helpful, and despite the fact he and his wife do all the cleaning themselves it was all spotless and clean, after several years of holidaying in Margate this was a gem to come across and we will definitely stay again. It's location right on the beach was wonderful, we like our evening swims, also nice and close to the train station, and sea front amusements . Just perfect ❤️ Thankyou Richard and Ann From Beci,Beth, Karen, Alfie, Barbara, Kaylee, Alice and Chloe x

I love this hotel, caught between the transition of retro BnB and contemporary fashions and expectations, this hotel offers not just a stay but an experiance. While many of the rooms are now under going refurbishment or have been refurbished you can still, if a solo traveller get a single room which still has a sink in the corner. I love those old fashioned rooms which have a sink in them. The owner; Richard is an eccentric, temperamental joy. A bohemian Basil Faulty, Listening to him moan is as entertaining as listening to one of his wonderful stories from his itinerary of global travels and adventures. His hot tub room would not look out of place in an episode of Only Fools and Horses and I had the great pleasure of enjoying a drink from his own private gin palace while soaking in a hot tub surrounded by walls painted to like a Carribean get away. I was just sad I had not bought a Leonard skin patterned dressing gown with me and worn a taccy medallion round my neck, Del Boy would have been proud. The Burlington Hotel can provide some fantastic random moments that become a talking point of your stay in Margate. If for anything, come to Margate just for this great, fun and different hotel.

I stayed here for 3 nights. The room was very clean, comfortable and recently redecorated to a very high standard. Great view of the beach and sea. It was inexpensive - great value for money. The owner, Richard went out of his way to be helpful - even washed and ironed some clothes for me! Lovely guy.
