Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fabulous hotel and staff, relaxed vibe. Great location, we had a seaview room which was very comfortable and spacious. The free pantry is a great idea! Rooftop bar has great views, Pearly Cow restaurant was great. Only negatives would be lack of pastries at the breakfast but that;s it. Would def stay again and recommend to others.

We were there for two nights in one of the suites overlooking the Margate sands. The room was comfortable and beautiful but I was surprised that at more than £300/night, the room had not been cleaned by 3.30pm, although a member of the staff offered to tidy up when we bumped into him by chance. No bottled water was provided. The Television failed the second night. There is little attention to detail and although there seem to be plenty of staff they do not appear to be very efficient or well trained. At the breakfast counter items were not replenished (e.g. fruit salad), even after asking a member of the staff. Honey and preserves were available, but no humble orange marmalade could be provided. A member of the staff went to check and came back empty handed!!. No plain croissants either, only some vegan pinkish ones already filled with raspberry (Barbie inspired?) that I didn't like. The food we had at dinner was reasonable. On arrival nobody offered to help with bringing the luggage from the car park some distance away. But for me the worst thing was that nobody (and there were several people at the reception) offered to help my obviously disabled husband (old, breathless and using a crutch) to get a suitcase and a bag from the reception to our car that I was parking outside the hotel door. The idea of service and attention to the client is not quite there and it should be at that price.

Hi Pukeka, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I apologise that this experience did not meet your expectations. The room should have been ready for you at 3pm with bottled water and your TV should have access to all streaming services and terrestrial, I have addressed this with both our housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure this does not happen again. We love to welcome our guests down for breakfast each morning and I am disappointed to read your experience was far from what we usually deliver. I have addressed this with our kitchen and restaurant team and reminded them of our standards. I also sincerely apologise for the lack of assistance offered upon your arrival, especially given your husband's mobility needs. Providing excellent service to all our guests, regardless of their circumstances, is something we work hard for. I genuinely appreciate your feedback and I would love the opportunity to welcome you back again for a better experience.

Such a lovely stay at No.42! Everyone is super helpful and friendly, some really nice touches with the free pantry and tea/coffee. Designed really well, the bed was so comfy and the rooftop bar is really cool with great views. The only downsides were the walls were a little thin (but they give you ear plugs in the room) and the pillows were quite flat but would still recommend - we had a great stay.

This was a high quality hotel at a reasonable rate. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms were 5-Star Quality to the highest standard. The Pantry was quirky and a nice touch. The food in the Restaurant was excellent. The Sunset view from the restaurant was an extra bonus. Can't wait to try the other hotels within this group.

We spent one night in a sea view room with a balcony. The pantry was fantastic and the rooms have everything you could possibly ask for. But what really makes the hotel is the team…they all seemed so young (we however are very old) but they honestly showed decades of experience in terms of their approach. Hats off especially to the the chef at breakfast today- Outstanding!!! If they swapped out the cut loaf for real bread at breakfast you couldn’t wish for a more perfect stay and breakfast . Thank you for an incredible stay

We stayed for two nights and we really cant rate it highly enough. If there was a 5 + then they would get it. The room is just delightful. We had one with a balcony overlooking the sea. Gorgeous comfy bed, big TV, Roberts Radio and a record player with records in the room. The shower is superb and lovely soaps, hand creams etc. The balcony is smallish but enough space for a table and 2 chairs...and there is a free pantry on 2nd floor to visit whenever you want with cakes, crisps, sweets, chocolates and with lovely coffee available in your room, fabulous to spend afternoon munching away on your balcony. The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful... We paid the extra £20 each for breakfast which is a touch steep but beautiful fresh cooked for each of you. Also delicious oats..and when they rang out of croissants they just baked us some fresh ones..and the coffee is delicious. Breakfast is in the restaurant area with lovely views over the sea. Just one quibble, the bread for toast is a rather tasteless sliced loaf.... This was absolutely one of our favourite hotels we have ever stayed in.

After staying at the Bath and York Hotels, we had high expectations… it didn’t disappoint. We stayed in a beach front room, and were treated to a spectacular sunset which made our Anniversary even more special. The rooms are very tastefully decorated , want and super comfortable. We ate at the Pearly Cow, very good service but sadly our roast was a little disappointing, with over cooked potatoes l, otherwise nice though. Overall , would thoroughly recommend, definitely reserve parking and a sea view room.
