We reserved a table for Sunday lunch ,arrived at 2.30 to be told they had no Sunday roast left. Ok not good but while were here might as well have a pint!! No Ales only Lager. Not great for Shepherd Neme. So ended up having a meal which was very nice and washed down with water.

Had a very comfortable two night stay at The Bell. Lovely large room, spotlessly clean with spacious bathroom with bath and separate shower. Excellent quality breakfast and we had one evening meal which was lovely. Outstanding staff, friendly and available. This is a hotel that likes to say, 'yes'. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend

We had been invited to stay back in the bell hotel after a bit of a disappointing stay when they reopened after the 6 month lockdown!! We parked in the public car park around the corner which only cost 7.20 for 24 hours!we went to reception and checked in at 2pm room all ready the lady on reception really welcoming and friendly! We were in room 33 which was a lovely room very large with beautiful river views !it had a super large super comfy bed in! We even had a nespresso machine !!a nice bathroom with a bath ! We slept amazingly well it was very peaceful and quiet until the morning when we were woken by I presume the room next doors tv very loudly on which came through the walls which was annoying!! Breakfast was well organised ,we had to pre book a time the night before which was fine!food good lots of choice not Greatly hot again though just lukewarm which Is always a shame !!strange set up of a night for having a drink at the bar after a certain time, we weren't allowed in bar but had to have drinks in main reception which was fine as nicely set up there !!lots of people doing the same!! But all in all we really had a lovely Stay again at this hotel!!

30th Anniversary in 'honeymoon hotel', sadly gone down a lot since then! Having first been told by the hotel that it had no bookings, we found one on a booking line. "Superior" Room backed with attractive photos. No mention it was on the ground floor, single glazed and totally adapted for disabled guests. Enormous walk in wet room almost bigger than the rest of the 'suite'. Tatty worn painted furniture, stained carpet, comfortable bed cramped into alcove. Felt guilty we were robbing disabled guests of a room. Grim corridor mainly of toilets added to the feel that this was a run-down military hospital. Adequate breakfast. No table cloths, Toast arrived before anything else, cold when we got to it. Had to ask for marmalade. Overall disappointing. Not at all worth the money.

Room Tip: "River View" rooms might be better above the ground floor, although the view isn't...

Stayed at the hotel with our friends. Very welcoming and service at breakfast was exceptional, nothing was too much effort for our brilliant waitress. Hotel was comfortable, I had to park in the main car park across the road but this was not an issue.
