Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I’m afraid, not the best experience. I won’t be in a hurry to stay at a Holiday Inn again. The building is old, it’s clearly had a renovation, the reception and bar/dining area are fine. I’m afraid it’s once I entered my room the disappointment began. I’d been given a disabled access room, ironically on the second floor, granted there is a lift. The view from the narrow window was into a service area, featuring a couple of delivery cages, with rubbish and disgarded plastic wrap. The room was fitted with a wet room, no bath but a shower with mobility aids. The bathroom fittings are modern; but the sink is too shallow and the angle of the tap results in wet clothing unless you’re very careful turning the tap on. Upon taking a shower it became evident that the angled floor tiles aren’t capturing the water into the drain resulting in a large puddle by the door. This has clearly been going on for sometime as the bottom of the door frame is swollen from water ingress and has been painted over. In the main room, the carpet was tired, the small chair was stained, the cable hung down below the wall mounted tv; the devil is in the detail, all adding up to making it look shabby. The bed was large and comfortable but the bedside tables were 18” away on both sides, a good stretch for a phone or drink. The worst feature of the room however was the ceiling to floor brown staining running down one wall from an obvious roof leak. I asked for a 3am alarm call which didn’t happen. A sign stated the main hotel entrance door would be locked from 11pm to 5am which concerned me as I was being collected at 3.30am. Upon reaching reception I found the desk unmanned, and the door opening. So I dropped the door key on the desk and left. To be honest, I thought Holiday Inn was a major player and expected much more. Sadly it was disappointing.

The room was an executive room. Really nice much better than I expected the room. The bed was large. There were nightgowns and slippers and a fridge and dressing table area. It’s a real shame I didn’t get to spend any time in the room as it looked great, breakfast was also great.

It did the job as an overnight pit stop but the price vs the cleanliness and quality did not correlate. The room I had looked like it needed a refurb, old and tired, flaky paint and evidence of leaks etc. think of what you would expect from a travelodge and that’s what you get with this hotel but at a higher price.

Well I was very disappointed with this hotel I spent 2 nights here unfortunately The bathroom was not fit for purpose the toilet would not flush when I reported this with the very miserable receptionist she didn’t even look at me, she sighed and said I will tell the maintenance man when he turns up! She clearly didn’t because it was never fixed! I shouldn’t have to ask twice!! The same receptionist took my phone call when I wanted to order room service and told me to phone back in 5 minutes as she had something else to do!!! Trust me I am not exaggerating she is awful! Management need to train her in customer services asap. I wish I had taken her name but she was an older lady dark coloured hair I think she had a facial piercing but can’t be sure hair was shoulder length

Emily and the front office manager Lorna made me and my husband feel so welcome and overall the hotel seems to have such a more relaxed atmosphere, we had such a lovely stay and definitely will be returning. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Honestly nothing we could complain about.

What wonderful and accommodating staff especially Grace! We stayed for new year's eve. Our daughter is on autistic spectrum and was very overwhelmed. We thought we would have to leave and travel home because of this. Grace went above and beyond to change our room so our daughter would be less overwhelmed. She is an amazing duty manager. The rest of the staff were lovely, friendly and professional aswell. Breakfast was absolutely gorgeous and a lovely selection. Comfortable beds with us all having a good night's sleep. Thank you Grace. You have a brilliant future in the hospitality area or in fact anything you put your mind to. Hope The Holiday Inn know what good staff they have and invest well in your future.

I've reviewed this hotel previously and said I would not return however due to our companies new hotel bookers despite my protests I found myself back again and with no improvement Arrived at 730 pm to find the car park in complete darkness. After not managing to break my neck in the pitch black of the car park I checked in and went straight for dinner. I then went up to my room which as last time was not the best still only one 2 sockets in the whole room none by the bed Then I heard a electrical fritzing noise coming from the light switch that was broken and sparking . I obviously went to reception and they moved me to a new room so was buggering about moving rooms after a 9 hour day at work and a 4 hour drive not impressed The new room had no heating so I nicked the portable heater from the old room In the morning on checkout I was asked how was my stay! So I told her . I asked how they could book rooms in such a state of disrepair on the point of dangerous. Not a apology nothing at all in fact she couldn't have cared less Will be taking complaint further with IHG I hope to God I never have to return to this place but if I have to I will be sleeping in my car Definitely one to avoid

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Sittingbourne over a weekend in one of the Superior Rooms. On our arrival we were looked after by Lorna and Jodi on Reception who were very helpful and made sure we knew where everything was. The breakfast was very good and there was plenty of it. There was a mixture of cooked food, cereals, cold meats and fruits. We used the main restaurant on the evening for food and a couple of drinks and the staff, Grace and Courtenay, were excellent. Very friendly, hard working and efficient. This was our first visit to the Holiday Inn in Sittingbourne but we will certainly use it again in the future.

Excellent Hotel. The hotel was very clean with friendly helpful staff, especially Jodie on reception. The breakfast was very good with a good choice of food. We had an evening meal here which was great value for money and was delicious. We would come back here for a meal if we did not even stay at the hotel but staying with family living near by.
