Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A last minute booking to surprise a family member for their birthday, found us using the Tonge Barn as a base for our visit. We stayed in one of the 'mini' barns on site. The room was very well equipped with good wifi, mini fridge, microwave and plates and cutlery, iron, hairdryer and ironing board (stored in the very large wardrobe). The bed was very comfortable. The room had an ensuite wet room, which is great if you have mobility issues. A tip would be not to book breakfast too late as my bacon and sausage were dried out from being left in the oven too long. There was fresh orange juice on the table and a good variety of teas available. One thing was missing was either a little dish/plate to put the teabags in/on. It is a short distance to a large Sainsburys in Sittingbourne and nice restaurants in Ospringe.

We stayed in room number 3 for three nights. The room is spacious and comfortable, but there are no windows in the bedroom or the bathroom, only in the front room. The cleaning was done every day, but there was a really strong chemical smell when we came back in at the end of the day. We were surprised to see that it is a large B&B with a total of 12 rooms. For us, that takes off some of the cachet (B&B experience). The place is isolated, not close to any restaurants or sites. The garden is well maintained. The only cooked breakfast is the full English breakfast which is okay for a day or two, but it lacks variety. However, there were fruits and cereal available.

The hostess was so friendly, the room was spotless, the setting was beautiful and the dining area was lovely, would definitely visit again! I only stayed for one night, for business reasons but would happily stay there for a lot longer, I genuinely loved it!

We can not rate this accommodation highly enough. Ample on site parking. Warm welcome provided by Gabriella who also makes fantastic breakfasts with fresh ingredients to order. Meticulously clean and comfortable room with TV, heating/air conditioning, fridge and microwave. Have to mention how good the shower is and bed super comfy. Quiet location. The B&B is not far from Elmley Nature Reserve and Oare Marshlands, both of which offered great walks and bird watching opportunities. There are also walks from the B&B. However, the garden offers so much for its size! A beautiful (small) river setting, great for drinking coffee and wine (mainly wine), where we had the pleasure of watching various ducks and their babies and moorhen adult and young too. Water vole was a real treat and various raptors can be seen in the adjoining fields, as well as green woodpecker in the garden. Further highlight was a family of stoats who play for periods of time throughout the day in a wood pile viewable from the garden. Just couldn't ask for more. It was also great to meet Steve, the owner, who provided information of best restaurants or pubs in the area, all of which we enjoyed. We also used Just Eat for 1 evening. There is no question, we will go back!

We stayed at Tonge Barn for one night and would definitely recommend. The setting and individual rooms are lovely as is the breakfast which is freshly cooked to order in front of you. There are fridges and cereals in the rooms if you’d prefer and a good selection of fruit and drinks available. The staff are friendly and helpful recommending places to eat and go to in the local area. There are benches in the gardens as well, perfect to sit out near the little river that runs by. All in all a lovely place to stay.

As a person who stays in hotel for over 200 nights a year most of them in the city's i found this place. This really is the perfect place to stay if you like the countryside its a really gem. The rooms are nice and spacious, Spotlessly clean and so comfortable. shower and bathroom again very clean and shower is wonderful. On check in i was met by a very nice lady very efficient and so polite she then showed me to my room i was in Garden room 3 and to say this was perfect is an understatement. I wanted to take the bed home it was so comfortable To be honest i was not going to write this as i wanted to keep this place a secret lol but really this is the perfect place to stay if your ever down this way working or on holiday the garden is beautiful with a stream at the bottom lots of wild life it really is a little hidden gem so its a big thank you from me and as they say I will be back Thanks Tony
