Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Super cute place to stay. Has everything you need for a night away. Bed large and extremely comfortable. Right on the beach with stunning vipers of the sea. Very relaxing, very quiet. Walk along the sea wall to find plenty of place to eat and drink for all tastes and budgets

The most amazing location - right on top of the sea - harbour 3 minutes one way - eateries shops coffee etc 1 minute the other way. Hut 14. Will go back in the summer - already booked. You can Easily fill a week here with so much within a short drive - you get parking included so we just walked miles along the coast on decked pathways. If your there for just 1 or 2 nights they provide juice tea coffee a pint of milk toiletries decent hairdryer one to of towels and loo rolls. You really just need your clothes and toothbrush. The only thing I would say is that although hut 14 has a bathroom plus extra cloakroom and 2 double beds - in winter there is only a 2 seater / 3 at a squeeze sofa in the kitchen lounge area. In summer you would be on the balcony or deckchairs outside but a bit of a push in winter. We went as a couple and started in one room with the balcony and fantastic views - but as my partner is 6’2 we moved to the top floor as the bed was bigger with no end board so he fitted! You can still hear the sea but can’t see it from the bed like the balcony room. Would suit older children that could navigate the tiny winding stairs or babies as there are cots in the ironing area or even a group of girls but you would be sat on the floor in winter for a morning coffee. Fantastic for 2 people though and we have booked for summer already. Thank you ! We loved our pre xmas escape it was so restful and relaxing.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in Hut 5 and had a great time. Spotlessly clean, lovely and warm and well kitted out. It’s a truly unique experience and you have to understand this are old beach hut. Downstairs the ceiling is low but we spent most of our time upstairs. My only suggestion would be to perhaps add a rug in the winter downstairs just to warm the place up a bit and perhaps a arm chair - if these were there we may of used downstairs more but that is not a criticism. Breakfast at the hotel continental was superb!! The staff throughout our stay were attentive and polite. Nothing was too much trouble - we received clean towels, new glassware and replenished welcome tray every day. Whitstable itself is charming and the Christmas lights and decorations make it so romantic and charming. Lots of eating options too!!

Visited the huts - have visited on and off for 15yrs. Love the coastline it's truly beautiful. Huts have been refurbished and are pretty good. Showers ok but need somewhere for soap, shampoo etc. Bedside light flickered so couldn't use. Other than the little niggles they were cosy and comfortable. Went for breakfast at the Hotel Continental as it was always so good. Sadly its not so now, the Continental breakfast is sporadically laid out - not great, no yoghurt choice, generally lack lustre. The cooked breakfast was bad..not very nice. Noisy staff, not attentive. Plus had to pay straight away could not be added to hut bill. Breakfast elsewhere was definitely preferable, Beach cafe, or Birdys - tasty, cherry & cheaper too. On a separate note eve meal was good at the Hotel.

We stayed a night in a studio behind the fisherman’s huts but all part of the hotel continental! We arrived and parked outside and got into our studio at 2.50 - you have to get your permit and key card from the hotel itself which was easy enough! The studio was very clean and welcoming! The sofa bed hadn’t been made up for our kids but I think it was to give us space to sit etc! The sofa bed was very small and not that comfortable! There were fresh towels, tea, coffee and biscuits, water and juice in the mini fridge but only 2 cups & 2 glasses. There was no WiFi or phone service which was annoying! And we tried to get this fixed and no one did anything about it! The location is great right in the centre of it all and 2 minutes from the sea front! I would stay here again but perhaps look at a bigger unit with WiFi!

Second time at the huts, even better we got the only dry sunny days for weeks! The position is perfect , no better spot in Whitstable . To be able to step 10 feet in the morning for a breakfast roll and coffee at the oyster shack, then 2 mins the other way for a top dinner at the Harbour restaurant, the harbour and high street right there, perfect. The huts are great value, they are clean and bright and well equipped. The only reason we wouldnt come back is the stairs are a bit scary the older we get (which is not a criticism, this is a fishermen's hut and it's authentic) but otherwise we can't praise them enough. We've stayed in #4 now. The last time in 2019. To wake up with that view, and be able to nip back from the beach to get things, it's so handy. Our problem will be finding anywhere as good in Whitstable, which gets better each time we come.

Anderson Shed Downstairs. The rooms were lovely and clean with a Double bed and a Kingsize bed. The matresses were nice and thick and comfortable. There is a large mirror in each room and plenty of hanging space. The kingsize room has a hairdryer. Towels and bath mat were provided. We could have done with another bathmat. The bathroom is very spacious with a large shower, toilet and handbasin. There is also a small seperate toilet with handbasin. There is no 2 pin socket for toothbrush or shaver. Upstairs Lovely size kitchen with good size fridge, basic microwave, cutlery, plates and glasses. The wine glasses were different sizes so we all had different measures of wine!!! Also the kitchen utensils were a bit lacking. There is a small table and chairs. The sitting room is very spacious with 2 leatherette setees and a chair with footrest. All rooms have TV. There is a lovely bay window with wooden shutters and the view is wonderful. 4 Deckchairs are hanging in the hallway. Most of the sockets have USB points to charge up phones and toothbrushes if yours has a lead. There was a welcome tray of coffee, tea, milk and water. Also travel size shampoo and shower gel. Parking is quite tight and we mamaged to scrape the car on the wall which we didn't hear because of the gravel ....whoops. All in all lovely place to visit. Thank you Hotel Continental. Fiona Bengall

We stayed in hut 6 with our little dog. The hut is right on the beach, with fantastic views of the sea. It was very clean and cosy and has everything you need for a night away. The hotel staff are only 10 mins walk away if you need any help and to collect the keys (Thank you to Luke on reception for his help). There is a parking space outside the hut (a rarity in Whitstable!) and a great shack right outside selling bacon & egg sarnies for breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our night in this unique setting. It was great fun and we will come back!

We had a lovely stay in the fisherman’s huts. The view from hut 3 was beautiful, and it had everything we needed. We didn’t drive so didn’t have to negotiate what looked like a tight parking space. Shower room did look it could do with a bit of a deep clean. It was slightly frustrating having to pick up and return the keys to the hotel continental. Maybe a key drop/ pick up at the forge between key hours. Lovely stay though and would come again.

Lovely location and quaint little huts. Unfortunately they weren’t as clean or up to date as you’d expect for the price. Facilities are very sparse within the huts, would have been nice to have a comfortable chair to be able to sit as a family.
