The Hotel Continental is the only hotel in Whitstable that enjoys a seafront location within 5 mins walk of the centre of the town. The rooms are currently undergoing a major refurbishment so be sure to ask reception for details. We also manage the very popular Fisherman's Huts accommodation.

Stayed two nights for a short winter break. Hotel right next to the Tankerton Slopes which link up with the promenade that can be walked as far as Herne Bay. There are not many hotels in Whitstable, so you probably need to book early if you want to stay here. There is a 10

Lovely bright, clean rooms with great facilities. Well stocked mini bar, satellite TV in a bright and modern room looking out to sea. Brilliant buffet breakfast serving fresh local produce. Lots of choice of juices, cereals and pastries (even gluten free cornflakes). Free onsite

We found this to be a friendly and charming hotel. The staff were just lovely from reception to the bar and the waiter for breakfast. The room was cosy, warm and clean with a nice selection of teas. The bed was a bit creaky but it was comfy. The shower was clean and powerful.

1 night stay to watch the always excellent Hamish Stuart Band @ Dukes Whitstable. Looks likes this has had recent refurb, New England style, very classy. Warm sea-view room, not a squeak of the night's gales got through the patio doors. Comfy bed, friendly staff, best breakfast

This time we were in room #1. Huge corner room with lots of windows and light and a huge bed from which to laze and watch the clouds and light over the water; or the fishing boat lights at night. When the tide's in you get the lull of water on the pebble beach. What could be

My room was at the rear, on the first floor. The stairs are fairly steep but it was never crowded and I didn’t have to hurry at any time. I’m in my seventies

Whistable is a quiet seaside getaway from the hustle and bustle of London so you wont find any Hiltons or Sheratons here. What you'll find is that the owners of Hotel Continental are committed to making your stay as comfortable as possible. To our delight, the linen was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was simply scrumptious. We enjoyed a quiet, restful stay in a room with a lovely seaside view. One may miss a few of the modern amenities of newer establishments but I'd stay at this hotel again, in a heartbeat!
