Travellers' Choice

The Crescent Turner, Whitstable, is a stylish, 18-bedroom boutique hotel, set high up on Wraik Hill, overlooking the Kent coast. It has panoramic views of the sea and gorgeous surrounding countryside.

Whitstable is a family-orientated but fashionable seaside town - famous for its beach huts, Oyster Festival and quaint harbour. There are quirky, independent shops and galleries, Whitstable Castle and an increasingly popular arts festival - the Whitstable Biennale.

The Crescent Turner has individually designed bedrooms, a restaurant, bar, terrace area, gardens and superb view over the estuary and whitstable.

Head down to Whitstable for a family break or a romantic getaway. You'll love the subtle decor of this newly remodelled boutique hotel - less than two hours from central London. Of course, the beach is a major feature in summer, but Whitstable is busy and interesting all-year round, and there are wonderful walks in the Kent countryside and other pretty towns and villages to visit while you are here. The Crescent Turner Hotel

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Always fabulous- Sarah is an excellent host. Fantastic food, great service and you’re made feel relaxed and welcome. The best Sunsets ever - rooms are comfortable, good size and views are awesome - have visited previously quite a number of times - will return.

We went for a friends 90th birthday lunch. We were in a conservatory with fantastic views over the estuary and beyond. The food was all pre ordered and it was very organised. My chicken was very nice and tender and the lemon posset was very nice too!

A wonderful establishment run by the excellent Sarah and her team. We had our own private dining room in the Conservatory with fabulous views looking down over the Estuary. Food was delicious and all beautifully presented. We were so well looked after. They went above and beyond. No detail was missed. My partner and I were totally delighted. It was one of the best days ever!

We had a special family get together, 27 of us, on Sunday 18 Feb. We had the conservatory to ourselves which came with its own bar. I cannot thank the Crescent Turner staff enough for making us so welcome and looking after us from the moment we arrived to the moment the last of us left. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and the staff served us with smiles all day and were attentive and helpful. The views were beautiful. There is no doubt in my mind we will return. If you are looking for a venue in this area for a private function I highly recommend the Crescent Turner. A home from home x

Popped in for a drink and some lunch. Superb Sunday menu £32 for 3 courses. The tacos were delicious and the roast pork was perfection. My husband had the beetroot cured salmon and roast beef (again scrummy). Such a lovely place and the whole team are so accommodating and friendly. Came away suitably stuffed!

We had the most amazing stay at this beautiful hotel. It was for my husbands 40th and our wedding anniversary, they went above and beyond. We got an upgrade and lovely little extra treat , the room was amazing the view was incredible. Also the friendliest place to stay with the nicest staff. The breakfast was also very tasty and the young girl serving was very attentive and polite! Great place will definitely be back

We had our wedding here in August and couldn't have been happier. Sarah and the team went above and beyond to make our day special. The ceremony area was beautiful (we didn't add any of our own decoration or flowers, it was perfect just the way it was) pur photos have turned out beautifully just from the natural back drop. We had our reception in the Tipi and the outdoor space. We had lots of room for lawn games and table and chairs outside both adults and children had a great time in the sunshine. The Tipi was great and suited our needs perfectly. We had BBQ food served which was done outside at the cooking station, the food was so tasty and everyone complimented it, couldn't have been better. So happy. Sarah and her team met with us several times to help us plan before the day and made everything so smooth and easy. The man looking after us on the day was brilliant! Was so professional but also so friendly and fun, he really made a difference to the day. The room we had to get ready in and stay the night was lovely, perfectly placed, clean, beautifully presents and in the perfect location ready for the ceremony. Attention to detail was incredible. Highly recommend this venue for any wedding or function. Staff and venue 10 out of 10. Thank you Crescent Turner.

Me and My Mum came to Whitstable for a Christmas staycation and came to the Crescent Turner for our Christmas dinner. We arrived at 4pm for canapés and fizz in the Tipi and enjoyed sitting and listening to the Rat Pack singer. Dinner was served in the Palm Pavilion and we both very much enjoyed our food. The staff went above and beyond to cater for any dietary requirements we had which was much appreciated (thanks for extra chocolate cake and mocktail for Mum!) After dinner we went back to the Tipi for our cheese board and more music. All in all a very nice experience, massive compliments to the staff and chef!

We had Sunday lunch at the Crescent Turner with friends to mark both of our wedding anniversaries. The views from the dining room were great, and I intend to return next summer so that I can enjoy the decked area with a cocktail or two. We arrived a little early but that was not an issue and we were seated quickly. There was a brief pause in service but menus arrived and drinks orders were taken. The food was exceptional, I had a smoked duck salad for a starter which was beautifully presented and had super flavours. We all chose the beef as mains, which was served pink. The vegetable choice was great and we loved being able to choose pigs in blankets as a side. Desserts were good, as was the cheese plate. We had a little problem with the wine, in that we chose a 2016 red, but they only had the 2018. Thankfully it was on the mark, taste wise, so not a disaster. That said they did acknowledge that they needed to update their wine list, so hopefully that has been done. Getting a taxi back to Whitstable proved tricky, with at least an hours wait. However, Maria, one of the staff kindly offered to take us, as it was on her way home. Such a kind gesture which sums up the approach to guest satisfaction. We would definitely go back.
