My husband and I have recently stopped buying each other physical gifts and have started treating ourselves to weekends away. This hotel was such a find. From its beautiful presentation to the exceptional staff, we were impressed from the start. Our room was perfectly situated and extremely comfortable. The bar was so intimate and welcoming. Meeting Tully was a highlight - wish we had seen more of her 🐶. And the food ….. it was simply divine. Over our weekend, we dined there twice and we were so glad we did. The venison, stone bass and mushroom risotto were outstanding. We would also recommend the cheese board. Don’t forget to book - you don’t automatically have a table booked for the evening. The breakfast was also amazing. Thank you to everyone who looked after us.

Lovely little hotel, booked 2 single rooms as a father & daughter to stay in whilst visiting family in a care home which is a few minutes walk away. Parking on site, cosy bar, fantastic staff & breakfast Value for money was amazing! Beds are sooo comfy too! We will be back! Thank you.

I stayed here for 2 nights this week. Plenary of free parking with a pleasant and check in. It’s a big really old building but the room was clean with everything needed I was on my own and had a single room. The restaurant served good food at reasonable prices and the included breakfast was very good. Well recommended.

The staff were fabulous. Kind and friendly the house keeper cooks the best poached eggs. The chief is passionate about local food and keeping the menu traditional Lancashire fare. Thankyou for being a home frome home.

Ideally located for us given me coming from the South Coast, and lads from Milton Keynes, Liverpool and Scotland. Perfect for us to get to the wedding venue (albeit this hotel has a wonderful wedding setting as well) Very welcoming staff on reception and bar area. Staff treated us fantastically. Excellent breakfast selections and choice if you wanted a full cooked English in the morning. Hotel had everything we’d want. Can’t recommend the place enough

Travelled up with friends to watch the football and visit the surrounding area. The hotel was excellent with friendly and excellent staff. My room was very spacious and comfortable. Both the evening meal and breakfast were of the highest quality. The chef even checked that everything was ok. Will be staying here again. Thankyou.

Where do I start, my sister in law and I have just stayed here for 4 nights on our travels from Houston Texas. We are both Burnley ladies born and bred. We can honestly say that the hospitality was wonderful infact all the staff were amazing especially Jeanie and Natasha whose undivided attention was second to none. The rooms were very clean just a little dated but fine. Breakfast was awesome and evenings in the bar chatting with staff and patrons was a must. We would definitely stay there again.

Nice full English breakfast, but not much choice for continental. Staff nice and friendly. Just quite dated and dark which is not our sort of thing. Could hear everyone in the other rooms too and room was boiling hot with radiator on in 22 degree heat.

Checked in for a nights stay whilst away with work. Very quirky and unique hotel with amazing decor and a wonderful history. Such a great find and a welcome change from the modern, bland offering of the chain hotels. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Ate in the restaurant (main and desert). Food was first class, delivered quickly and was very enjoyable. Breakfast was equally as good with lots on offer. Chef took the time at breakfast to check how our evening meal was and that we were happy with the service. Very enjoyable stay and shall look to return when next in Burnley.
