We have always had a good experience of visiting the Malthouse Farm for a meal. Wonderful location by the canal. Very efficient, friendly staff and great choice on the changing menu. We have never been disappointed.

Always book first, normally full because of lovely food, good selection of beers and friendly staff ( especially Ahmet ). Top marks for a top pub. Set by a canal and you can sit outside and watch the canal boats go by while having a pint. You can have a walk by the canal and get your appetite ready for...

Went for a family meal and was pleasantly surprised. The Lady host was charming and welcomed us with a smile. The bar had a lot of choice including Cask Ales and Flavoured Ciders on draught. It was a Wednesday evening but the place was buzzing, no doubt testament to the level of service and quality of food on offer. I...

We stay here regularly when visiting family and have always felt it was top notch. This time for the first time there was a slight shadow over the stay where as the staff weren't as friendly, there were small errors with the room which was far too hot and breakfast wasn't as good as normal. Hoping it is a glitch...

Enjoyed a fabulous meal with my daughter and husband. Relaxed, atmosphere. Excellent service and an extensive choice of food and wines. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. It is also possible to stay in the accommodation, although we didn't need to. My daughter, who is a local, dines here regularly and know she will always have a great...

We booked in advance as have been turned away in the past. We had the fish and chips, buttermilk chicken burger, steak burger and chicken pie. The food was very tasty and the chips were excellent. Really crunchy. The kale coleslaw was unusual but nice and the portion sizes were quite large. Although this is a chain real effort is...

Did not stay at the Hotel element but thoroughly enjoyed the Gastro Pub experience. Nice people to help and serve which makes the difference to any place. The food was wholesome and well prepared but one criticism would be the beef quality was not the best but did not detract too much from how it was - well done.

Unlike many other gastro-type pubs, the quality of food, drink and service are always great at the Malthouse. The menus change reasonably often and there is always something you fancy. Hard to fault really - unless you can't get a table when it's busy....... But you should have booked!!!
