Detailed Reviews
We four were on a trans-Bowland walk and accommodation in the area is sparse. While Wood End farm is a B&B establishment Alison the landlady made us an evening meal by arrangement since we wouldn't be able to reach the nearest pub conveniently on foot. We arrived late afternoon after an 11 mile trek from Stang Yule and immediately found ourselves looked after. Wood End farm was a lovely old building with a warm homely feel. The rooms were excellent, the dinner was excellent, breakfast was excellent and the packed lunch excellent. Over the last 12 years our walking expeditions and holidays have taken us all over the UK and we four have no hesitation in acknowledging Wood End Farm as being the best we have ever stayed at. Thank you Alison and family for making us feel so much at home.

I have stayed at a number of establishments when planning walking trips over the years and at 75, this turned out to be the very best. A full breakfast (which was absolutely delicious) was served at an unusually early hour to enable me to start a day's walk in good time. For a number of reasons I got down late and the owner insisted on coming to collect me to save me having to negotiate the last stretch on road. Packed lunches were plentiful, nourishing and delicious. A most friendly warm atmosphere. Definitely plan to make a return visit. I would recommend this establishment to anybody.

Great location, extremely welcoming and fantastic breakfast! A real credit to how B&B should be run.
Owner Alison goes one step beyond to help and accommodate any requests. Rooms are clean with extremely comfotable beds.
Working farm so lots to see and do in the immediate locality, really nice tidy farm too, clean concrete or tarmac drives so you don't get muddy boots.
Field full of Alpacas just behind the buildings.
Will definately return in the future.

An absolutely fantastic B&B! Wonderful hospitality and great breakfasts throughout. Alison could not do enough to help make our visit as enjoyable and stress free as possible. Wood End Farm is within the Bowland Forest AONB and within very easy reach of The Yorkshire Dales and Malham. We thoroughly recommend Wood End Farm to anyone.

Owner is lovely and very knowledgeable about the alpacas, very welcoming, her mum makes the soup etc and it was delicious followed by a warm fresh scone and cream. I didn't want to leave. Fabulous for all ages. They also do parties there and take the alpacas to weddings.
I got to feed them and cuddle them. Lovely

Alison went the extra mile with everything. You have a flask of milk for tea in your room anytime. Super cooked breakfast and we got our own toaster by our table so that the toast was hot- a great idea! The surrounding area is beautiful for a walk. The farm was fascinating with alpacas and newborn lambs. We could not have enjoyed our stay more.

Myself and my husband had a wonderful 2 night stay at Wood End farm B&B and did the alpaca experience. We got vouchers for Christmas and we decided to go as a 'mini moon' after our wedding on the same week.
Alison was so warm, welcoming & caring from the moment we arrived. She made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed, including some lovely milk for our tea.
The room is spacious and felt like home. The location is remote and it was a much needed break from our busy lives!
The alpaca experience was absolutely amazing. We saw more than alpacas, including sheep, pigs, lama's and cows! This is a must do for any animal lover. The walk itself was lovely, despite rain, and Alison was so knowledgeable and also took some amazing pictures and videos of myself and my new husband.
The countryside around the Forest of bowland is also beautiful so I'd recommend anyone visiting to plan in some walks.
We also purchased massages from Alisons daughter Laura as an extra treat and the room was only next door so it was a very relaxing experience.
Overall we had such a wonderful time and we were sad to leave after our two nights. It was a much needed peaceful break!

This bnb is a wonderful little gem hidden away in the beautiful countryside. Alison and her family are absolutely wonderful and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are emaculate and bedding luxurious. Alison's breakfast is superb with everything you could possibly want or need. So tranquil and peaceful you never want to leave. There are some beautiful walks too and dont leave without saying hello to the alpacas who are so cheeky. They also offer beauty treatments by appointment. So you can feel totally pampered should you feel the need after a long walk. This place is so much more than just a bnb it is has everything at a very reasonable price. Love it xx

I’ve stayed in many English B&Bs and Wood End Farm is without doubt one of the very best. The family who run it (and the farm) are incredibly welcoming and helpful. Rooms are spacious and spotless, with hot shower, wifi and lovely views. And breakfast had everything you could possibly wish for. Nestled in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and just up the road from the renowned Inn at Whitewell where you can get a hearty après-trek meal and a pint. For a room though, I’d choose Wood End Farm every time! Highly recommended.

Alison and her alpacas are absolutely charming. I booked this as a treat for my partner as it’s been on his bucket list for a while. I had booked one alpaca between us and cream tea afterwards however Alison was incredibly kind to give us one alpaca each regardless of me only having booked one. After a quick introduction we walked on the fields and hills of the AONB around the farm. The alpacas are super relaxed, very very gentle and super fluffy. A bag of carrot batons quickly made me a favourite among them. The landscape and nature is absolutely breathtaking and Alison answers any and all questions you might have. She makes sure you get all the pictures and videos you want. The cream tea afterwards was to die for!!! Freshly baked that morning with freshly whipped cream and delicious jam, plenty of tea to go around. I would highly recommend this experience and would go again.
