Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Myself and my husband had a wonderful 2 night stay at Wood End farm B&B and did the alpaca experience. We got vouchers for Christmas and we decided to go as a 'mini moon' after our wedding on the same week. Alison was so warm, welcoming & caring from the moment we arrived. She made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed, including some lovely milk for our tea. The room is spacious and felt like home. The location is remote and it was a much needed break from our busy lives! The alpaca experience was absolutely amazing. We saw more than alpacas, including sheep, pigs, lama's and cows! This is a must do for any animal lover. The walk itself was lovely, despite rain, and Alison was so knowledgeable and also took some amazing pictures and videos of myself and my new husband. The countryside around the Forest of bowland is also beautiful so I'd recommend anyone visiting to plan in some walks. We also purchased massages from Alisons daughter Laura as an extra treat and the room was only next door so it was a very relaxing experience. Overall we had such a wonderful time and we were sad to leave after our two nights. It was a much needed peaceful break!

The alpaca experience was something else. Beautiful scenery, fantastic hosts and super cute alpacas. Alison was so patient with the kids and more than happy to answer any questions we had about the herd. Very highly recommended.

Review Booked the Alpaca Experience with our 2 grandchildren (9 and 12) And what a fantastic experience it was Alison the owner gave a very short 5 minute introduction on how to handle the alpacas and then we went to meet all 15 of them Each grandson took an Alpaca on a lovely walk through fields to a river where the Alpacas played We fed them Also the children met the 2 baby ones / lamas / spotty pigs / sheep Alison was brilliant with the children throughout Would thoroughly recommend this trip

I took my mum to meet and greet the Aloacas on the farm, it was a Christmas gift. We were greeted very warmly then taken to a converted barn with a log burner to watch a video on how the farm works all year round, which was very interesting. Then we went to meet the new piglets that they are hoping to train to walk on leads, then we met 15 alpacas ❤️ we were shown how to handle them and lots of information about them. We allied an alpaca each along a path to have some pictures taken, along with 2 beautiful sheep.. we walked them back and then had cream tea in the barn. I have never had such amazing scones! The ladies who were with us during our experience were very educated in all the animals they had on the farm and were happy to answer all our questions This place is a must for everyone to experience, mum and I came away so relaxed it was an amazing experience

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting the local area which is absolutely stunning. B&B was warm, welcoming and spotlessly clean and Alison was the loveliest host. Great breakfast the next morning & we felt very much at home. We’ll be back to visit the alpacas. Many thanks!

Alison and her alpacas are absolutely charming. I booked this as a treat for my partner as it’s been on his bucket list for a while. I had booked one alpaca between us and cream tea afterwards however Alison was incredibly kind to give us one alpaca each regardless of me only having booked one. After a quick introduction we walked on the fields and hills of the AONB around the farm. The alpacas are super relaxed, very very gentle and super fluffy. A bag of carrot batons quickly made me a favourite among them. The landscape and nature is absolutely breathtaking and Alison answers any and all questions you might have. She makes sure you get all the pictures and videos you want. The cream tea afterwards was to die for!!! Freshly baked that morning with freshly whipped cream and delicious jam, plenty of tea to go around. I would highly recommend this experience and would go again.

What a lovely treat this was! Alison’s love of her alpacas was clear and there were plenty of photo opportunities as each of our group of 6 walked an adorable alpaca up the country lane behind Wood End Farm while Alison talked to us about their characters, care and natural habitats. She made sure that everyone went home with great memories and photos/videos of our “handpicked” alpaca. Don’t miss the walk up to the top farm on the lane behind Wood End - the views are amazingly beautiful.

Fantastic morning from start to finish. Due to my sisters mobility issues, Alison provided a ‘tramper’ mobility scooter which is suited for most terrains, so my sister could enjoy the whole experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our interaction with Romeo and Marley, two beautiful alpacas. The cream tea afterwards was just fabulous, thanks to Alison’s Mums baking skills. We would all definitely recommend the experience, ‘a memory to last a lifetime’
