Stayed for our daughters graduation on the hottest day ever - 3 rooms which were all beautifully appointed, with large bathrooms, one with four-poster bed!! Fans were provided, but conditions were unprecedented. We ate in the pub at lunchtime for a light bite & breakfast which was excluded - both were well cooked & good value.
Rooms were wiped with everything you need & mini fridge with fresh milk, orange juice & water.

We stayed in The Falcon Inn for 1 night as part of a family trip to the area, we absolutely LOVED The Falcon Inn, the rooms were clean, modern and had very comfy beds, plus tea, coffee, biscuits, milk and orange juice in the rooms. We dined in the restaurant for supper which was really tasty, with some great vegetarian options as well, and the complimentary breakfast was delicious and generous. Would 100% recommend!

Booked this last minute as needed an overnight close to Loughborough and my normal hotel was full. The Falcon was a good find.

Friendly, attentive service. Very welcoming. Excellent food (dinner), good choice of wines, beers etc. Lovely atmosphere.

Room very spacious, comfortable and a home from home feel. The bathroom could have been cleaned a bit better, but not awful as kind of rustic feel due to being an old building which you will always get some level of dust no matter how much you clean.

The only disappointment was lack of healthier options at breakfast. This was a big let down for me. All it needed was some fruit, yogurt, porridge etc. There were lots of eggs, bacon etc. for those who want that. Healthy breakfast is really important to me, so much so I may not return if this doesn’t change.

Decided to split our journey after a trip to Oxford to see our son.
I picked The falcon as I wanted somewhere about half way home.
Parked up in the hotel car park before having a couple of drinks prior to checking in.
The staff were so friendly, I'm sure they hadn't just won the lottery but they were so genuinely chirpy and polite.
Checked into the room which was excellent value for money, separate bathroom with a bath and shower, the only slight criticism is that the shower curtain could do with being big enough to go around the whole bath to stop water going everywhere and a bath mat would be good to stop slipping, but other than that a lovely room.
Had dinner in the pub on the evening which was good and reasonably priced before having a good nights sleep and leaving after breakfast which was again very good.

Would definitely recommend the falcon for good food, a lovely room and friendly atmosphere.

This is not the best pub with rooms in Long Whatton. First the good, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the location is very pretty and easy to find. Unfortunately there are many niggles. When I arrived my room was like a sauna, the heating had been left on full, I had asked for a double room but was given a twin. When I brought this all up with the staff they said another room was available and was a double. I checked this room out and in fact it was another twin. There were nice touches in the room, fresh milk and juice in the fridge, however there were no tea bags of any kind, again easily sorted.
My evening meal was ok, the wine I had requested was not available and some of the food was not at its best. I asked to see the dessert menu but it never arrived. As I was packing up to leave the cleaner was knocking on my door even though it was not check out time.
This is not a bad place to eat or stay but could be so much better with a lick of paint and the few niggles sorted out.

Food was so-so. Had a steak which came over cooked compared to what was asked and a very measly portion of chips - can’t have been more than 10. Asked the waitress if they had a certain juice. She said she didn’t know and didn’t volunteer to go and find out either.

Weirdest thing about the place was that there were high chairs, a children’s menu and yet no baby change? Won’t be going back.

Very rude owner!
My family visited our local pub for my daughters 19th birthday and we were having a lovely time until ‘Ralph’ the owner or manager came outside and asked us very rudely and aggressively if we were leaving - this was at 11pm, 30 mins before closing time and 20 minutes after serving us drinks. We asked if he was joking and he said loudly and threateningly leave now! We couldn’t believe we had been spoken to like that - we were all so shocked and upset. I have lived in the village for 20 years and have regularly visited the Falcon for meals and drinks and have never been treated like this! Unfortunately if ‘Ralph’ continues to run this pub it will be a disaster.

Had two rooms for a graduation overnighter. Full of character in a nice village. Really comfortable beds. Good value meals. Staff really helpful and welcoming. Wish we'd found this place a few years ago! Couple of suggestions (bathroom mirror - shorties will need to stand on tiptoes! Could do with a larger selection of in-room teas/coffees, such as decafs!) Otherwise fab :-)

Visited for a Mother’s Day meal with family. Excellent table with the teacups above. Food was unbelievably good. Exceptional quality. Lots of choice and when it came it was wonderfully presented. All staff were really accommodating and efficient and chefs could be seen preparing food. Will definitely be back.

Stayed locally for the weekend and was recommended The Falcon Inn for having wonderful food.
They managed to squeeze a table in for the two of us at short notice which was amazing and we arrived to find a very warm and welcoming local pub/restaurant area.
We were shown to our table and a drinks order was taken. All through the evenings activities, it was apparent that it was quite a young(maybe new) team that were running the pub, with not much guidance or management involved. Mistakes were made on drinks orders and missing menu items were not explained as the menus were given out.
The garlic mushrooms that arrived for our shared starter, were lacking in sauce and hardly any seasoning at all and not much garlic to be seen or tasted. Almost like they were tipped out of a tin. We were both very hungry, so ate everything.
The lasagne ordered for my main course had amazing textured soft meat and lovely pasta sheets as promised by the menu however, yet again absolutely no flavour to the meat or sauce at all. The veggie burger ordered by my partner was a little better however, the accompanying fries were an odd combination of soggy and hard but the salad was good.
All in all a great setting but felt like the management and the chef were on holiday.
