This village pub is a welcome oasis in an otherwise publess area, my wife and I often walk our dogs to Scalford from Melton and enjoy the ambience of the Kings Arms. Unfortunately,by their very nature, pubs attract certain undesirable punters that young female bar staff are unable or unwilling to deal with. Many pubs have this problem and is...

We once again stopped the night at the Kings arms after a family celebration. We staying in Grange View. This is a lovely room , super comfy bed and huge bathroom and shower unit. Breakfast next day was fabulous cereals, pastries, full English or whatever you wish, tasty tea or coffee and juices.... Real treat for me . Thanks Mark...

On my last visit to Scalford Hall, I escaped out of the hotel and, via a circuitous route, evaded recapture and made my way to Saclford village for The Kings Arms, whereupon I enjoyed three pints of exceeding fine bitter and a good natter in some very friendly company! A lovely pub and, though I did not sample the food,...

Have now had quite a few meals here. All I can say is "Tonight exceeded all expectations! " Mark has the knack to "Hit the culinary taste buds for six!" Excellent Pies, seasonal vegetables, and Proper chips done in beef dripping!! Mmmmm. Absolute varied menu for all. Can't wait for the next hunger pang!

Phoned this morning to book a table for Sunday Lunch whoever answered the phone was not welcoming and quite rude pointed out that it was only 08.30 in the morning and obviously did not want to take the booking. After seeing Come Dine with me thought it would be nice to go and taste the delicious food, sorry will now...

Sadly we got it wrong! Publicans are not known as morning people. We often work late into the night, thus not rising as early as most other people, we were alseep when the phone rang and in hindsight we should have left the answerphone to take the call. No excuse, all I can do is offer our appoligies & yes...

Although we live locally - we attended a celebration in the village and felt staying over would complete the evening.. Mark gave us a choice of either rooms- the Grange View having the spar bath - the other Paddock View just as beautifully decorated but looking over the paddock at the rear of the building- this we chose. Have to...

I use the Greek word because the English 'hospitality' doesn't do justice to the warmth and friendliness of the Kings Arms. We only stayed for one night to meet friends who live locally, but we could not have been made more welcome. We stayed in the Paddock View room which was lovely and had everything you could wish for. It's...

Called in to the Pub on Saturday evening October 12th for a hopefully relaxing drink.... walking in to the Lounge area it was soon apparent that Michael and Mark the Publicans were not in residence. We ordered respective drinks and had no sooner sat down than foul language was coming from the bar and the passage adjacent the Lounge area...

We can only apologise unreservedly for what you experienced in our absence. Both Mark & I are absolutely mortified by the events that unfolded on in our absence. We have spent the last 7 years creating a cosy & welcoming (to all) country pub, we work tirelessly on our food, accommodation & bar, to the extent that we only actually...

Spent two nights at the Kings Arms with my wife and I sharing the Double and my Daughters the Twin. The furnishings and décor are of excellent quality and both rooms have a modern en-suite bathroom. An excellent Breakfast is included in the rate. Michael and Mark are most welcoming and helpful hosts, and Jonjo and the other locals give...
