Detailed Reviews
Just spent a fabulous week with my adult family in wood Thorpe lodge 1 on the edge of the forest nature walk. The lodge was of an ample size for our group of 6 adults and two dogs, it did get a little warm in the bedrooms so best bring or by a fan in these warmer months.
Maybe a brush or vaccumm cleaner would of been nice so we could of kept the floor clean. Bring some fly spray and insect repellant, the flys did my head in and the gnats found me to be a tasty meal.
The park itself has two well stocked pools for fishing, dog biscuit on the surface temted carp to 10lb in abundance, for the golfers there was a full size course to tempt you.
During this Covid period the kids play area was closed but better safe than sorry.
Woody, s bar did some nice and reasonably priced bar type food on the whole, built t struggled with making sure that food and beers on the menu didn't become unavailable especially when demand increased on Monday to Wednesday thanks to Government eat out incentive.
Talking of two hours, that is the least time we spent from 6:15pm booking till getting to ordering a sweet,(over an hour to receive mains (no starters ordered))
if one was available. The waiting staff were run off their poor feet but did a good jub considering.
Nice quiet park which was immaculately clean as was the lodge we stayed in, strange that the site apologised that the barrier stayed up..only one fob issued for a family
With three cars, no extra fobs available so inconvenient when barrier was down.
Would I stay there again... Yes, in a heart beat.

We had 4 nights & stayed in an Acorn Pod, the pod was really clean and very warm on arrival, with the underfloor heating on, there is only a microwave for cooking, but we went prepared for that, there was enough room for both of us to spread out and there's a great outdoor deck area to sit, the highlight for my husband was the hot tub, which was set at a temperature of 39 degrees, hence he spent a lot of time in it!! The whole park is kept very neat & tidy, and the woodland walk makes a nice stroll. We had 2 takeaway pizzas from Woody's restaurant, which is onsite, and we would thoroughly recommend them, very tasty! Overall, we had an enjoyable time, and with its location, its not far of a drive to Mablethorpe or Sutton on Sea. The Woodthorpe plant centre, is a 5 minute walk from the park, and is well worth a visit.
The only slight downside of our trip, was the lack of wi-fi and we struggled for internet on our phones, this wasn't a major issue, but we are normally so used to being able to get online.

Thank you HLA67 for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We are thrilled to hear you enjoy your visit to us, your comments are valued and have been shared with the team. The signal of the wifi in some of our accommodation is a little low due to being in the Lincolnshire countryside. We are working on improving this signal but technology is limited in this area of the countryside, but we are so pleased you were able to enjoy the surroundings and time together to allow this not to be an issue to you. We hope to welcome you back onto our park very soon. Stay Safe

I cannot recommend this place enough!
I visited with my boyfriend for my birthday weekend at the beginning of September 2022. The park was easy to get to, good local signage. We collected our keys for our oak tree pod from reception. The staff could have been more welcoming and friendly and it would have been good for them to explain where the bar/restaurant is, how to access the golf course, the wifi, if we were allowed bbqs or rentable gas stoves that were available (we found that out on our last day) but we were shown to our pod by one of the wardens which was nice.
The pod itself was immaculate. Not a hair in sight which made me ask if they were brand new but apparently they are about 5 years old. It was fully kitted with crockery and cutlery and kitchen utensils. I would recommend bringing a bbq or something to cook food on as there was only a microwave, toaster and kettle, all spotless though. The shower was decent, always had hot water.
The pod felt very private and secluded which was great for the private hot tub we had. Alan the warden was GREAT! He was soooo friendly and chatty and checked our hot tub every morning so it was always safe and fresh.
The grounds were very well kept and very dog friendly. The little woodland walks were lovely. The park was only 15mins away from a huge sandy beach which had a fun atmosphere.
This was a perfect getaway for adults (especially as phone signal was poor) and would be suitable for children if you’re prepared to travel off site for entertainment due to no clubhouse or arcades etc.
The restaurant/ bar was good. The food was decent and reasonably priced and the staff were friendly. Wasn’t much of an entertaining atmosphere though but was good for a night off from cooking.
I would absolutely visit again and have told my friends to do so. Thank you

Arrived on 12th for 5 nights camping. Given pitch along the large hedge row, also had family with us so had another 2 pitches booked for 2 nights. We have been camping here for 14 years so know there is normally more wasps than anywhere else but this time the wasps where absolutely crazy, about 100 coming out this hedge. I had 3 children one being 16 months old, I asked could I put a gazebo up to protect us (I'm also allergic) I was told no I'd need to buy another pitch at £33 a night. We asked for another pitch to move our tent so moved into the centre pitches, slightly better but still lots of wasps around. Another couple arrived in the mean time and put up a gazebo on their pitch so I went back to reception informed them and asked again could I put one up, still told no, I'd need to pay for another pitch was then offered a discount which I declined, why should I pay more on top of £99 a night already for 3 pitches when others didn't have to, They weren't asked to remove it and before we left another family arrived and put up a gazebo on the same pitch as tent.
Also by Sunday evening the ladies toilets were not working, they wouldn't flush, they got absolutely disgusting, the cleaners where just tipping buckets of water down them in the mornings. This was not fixed untill Friday lunch time. Their 'check' sheet in the toilet was just made up, some days no signatures then the next day they appeared, one day the 8pm check had a apparently been done yet it was only 4pm!
Rubbish lay for a while are the campsite before being picked up, including someone's pants.
The showers are awful, apparently it's 'eco' they last about 3 seconds, I actually washed my hair in the sink one night and just filled a bucket with water to wash at the tent with. The tap / drain behind our tent wouldn't drain away, the water was nearly over flowing and absolutely stinking.
Play park is good and Woody's bar does lovely food but after this experience I don't think we will be going back.

Me and my partner stayed at Chestnut Cottage at Woodthorpe leisure park.
We had the most perfect break away for 4 days, the cottage was immaculate, spacious, private and very homely! The facilities this place offer are amazing, you have everything you need and more.
Janet was the most loveliest lady, she introduced herself and told us about the cottage, reassured us that if we needed anything to contact her and if we needed any other information we could speak to the neighbours, herself or the reception. We was greeted with a lovely cake and fresh milk in the fridge ready for a cuppa, I thought this was a lovely touch.
The HotTub is an amazing bonus, we spent most of our time in it, day and night and even when the weather was wet and windy we didn't get cold. This cottage also has a sauna which again was a fantastic bonus. I really feel we got an incredible deal for the price paid, definitely value for money and worth every single second.
The cottage itself is spacious with a sun lounge, a living room, a kitchen, 2 bedrooms with on suites, and a huge private backgarden which includes the hottub and sauna room. All utensils are included aswell as appliances such as a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, toaster, kettle etc.
(However bring your own towels as they're not included, unless you want to buy a towel pack - £5 pp)
We had a beautiful view of the fishing lakes right outside, which woodthorpe leisure park provide for additional activities. They have a golf course, fishing, walking paths and a lovely pub on site just 2 minutes away from the cottage.
All the staff are welcoming, informative and professional. I feel this place takes great pride in caring for there customers, nothing is too much trouble.
The only bad thing I have to mention unfortunately (which isn't the parks fault) is the bird scarer, as there as farms around I appreciate they have to use these to save the crops but the bangs scared me half to death, (I'm glad I don't have a pace maker!) They go off from sunrise to sundown about every hour. Again it isn't the parks fault but I'd like to just warn people first hand.
Overall we had the most wonderful time, I really enjoyed our time here and didn't want to leave, made beautiful memories and I'll be looking forward to visiting here again in the near future.
Thankyou.

Had this bought as a present by my partner for Xmas, would definitely go again!
We stayed at acorn escape Lodge #1, when we arrived we grabbed our keys from reception and got told to pull to the front and we would be escorted to our lodge, when pulling up I was shocked at how beautiful and peaceful the area was.
The lodge was beautiful inside and out, had everything we needed and more, after getting settled we noticed we had all sorts of cutlery from basic knifes and forks to whisks, jugs and plates plus all sorts of sponges and cloths etc the only thing we needed was washing up liquid which would of helped but wasn't a huge issue because we had a tesco up the road about 15mins away.
The bathroom was lovely, shower was powerful, couple of towels provided and had enough space for all our bits.
Living room was stylish, had a TV mounted to the wall/cupboards but unable to tilt for the room but this wasn't an issue for us, we didn't bother with the dining table (stored away) as we had already made the bed downstairs so had tea on the sofa.
Pull out bed downstairs was simple to set up and comfy, bedding provided, we tried the upstairs bedroom but very awkward for taller people trying to get up and down the steps and not that comfy.
Hot tub was an amazing feature, heated ready and all sorts of settings, always checked every morning and chemicals topped up by one of the wardens, the warden who came to ours was a lovely chatty man(didn't get a name) and a credit to you.
Overall I've had a lovely hoilday and would definitely return, the lodge was beautiful, the surroundings were relaxing and also woodys bar had lovely food, supermarkets only a stone throw away so had everything we needed.
5 *!!!!

We stayed in one of the Acorn Retreats, the location is lovely and rural, this is set in a quieter part of the site. However a pod/lodge next door to ours was being completed/having work done, so we did have some noise throughout the day. Due to this we did not spend much time on the patio and hot tub area in the daytime. This site is also dog friendly and does have wonderful woodland around to walk a dog. However the staff that were servicing the hot tub in the morning did leave the gate open multiple times during our stay. As this is one of the dog friendly accommodations ensuring this is closed is something I would have considered necessary. There is no signal whilst on site, so there is a wi-fi you can purchase, yet this does disconnect a lot. The site doesn't have much to do, without driving out to somewhere else.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback amyA4934XZ. We are pleased you enjoyed your accommodation and the beautiful scenery on our pet friendly woodland trail. Our maintenance team have been reminded that this isn't acceptable to leave the gates open, so we can only apologise for this and can assure you that this isn't usual practice. The Hamlet of Woodthorpe in which we are situated is a peaceful place comprising of only countryside and we understand this isn't the holiday in which suites everybody. We appreciate your review and hope this doesn't put you off coming back to enjoy everything the coastal areas of Lincolnshire have to offer. Kind Regards

Arrived a bit before time with our two toy poodle’s. Sat and waited at woodies bar for phone call to say everything ready. Booked in and received key was taken to caravan buy helper on site. Caravan was not what I booked through Hoseasons as expected a veranda on front to stop dogs getting out. Complained to staff but nothing they could do they said to ring hoseasons and they might move me to another site, but having traveled with two dogs was not prepared to go else where. Booked a dog friendly caravan but no gate on top of steps so dogs could get out. We used two stools from inside of caravan to block steps. The grill did not work there was no egg slice to get eggs out of fry pan. The measuring jug was cracked. The shower was hit and miss with the hot water. The site was not clean and there were a lot of old tents and caravans on the site. Bits of old wood laying around which could of been cleared up by the workers on site. There were a lot of leaves around which could of been swept up making the place look cleaner. The staff were helpful and polite.

We stayed in one of the pods. Took my pooch Penny. The pod had a hot tub lovely.
Check in was easy, a guy in a golf cart took us to where we were staying and explained about the accommodation and hot tub. The pod was well equipped and set out. It was for 4 people with a double bed and pull out sofa in the living area. It had a microwave, fridge toaster and kettle. The TV in the living room had free view channels. Hot tub was a delight and checked everyday by maintenance. A short walk was the onside pub which served food resturant was always busy. There was also a shop which was well stocked.
Wifi onside has to be paid for via a private company. And my 4g wasn't the best in the pod area.
Over all we had a lovely chilled time and would recommend. There was fishing and golf on the site as well as touring pitches

Hi Marilyn, our check in time is from 4pm. Your accommodation might be ready a little earlier depending on the cleaners schedule that day. Hope that helps :)
Yes it has dog friendly spaces. Everywhere it has signs saying dogs must be on lead but my well trained Jack Russell we had her off lead and put her back on when we saw another dog in the distance.
