Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went to the newly opened pub / restaurant to see if it had changed since we last visited 3 years ago. Wow - this place did not disappoint Lorna and Adam are the timate hosts with a great menu, attitude and approach. The location has undergone an amazing transformation from a dull, dark and unwelcoming location to a clean, well
Laid out and country feel. We had a few drinks and food (the porter on tap wow) and were made so welcome in the high backed chairs with a lovely wood fire. Thanks all - best of luck and see you again - soon

Heard about the re-opening of the restaurant/bar so today we visited just for drinks lunchtime to check it out, quite impressed, friendly staff, comfortable stylish decor, nice atmosphere and drinks served up well. We didn’t eat today as had other plans but following our visit and checking out the menu on offer we booked for Sunday lunch on the 16th, looking forward to our next visit.
See you soon

One of the best hotel stays we’ve enjoyed.

We came on the Friday because we were going to a wedding on the Saturday. When we arrived we were shown to our lovely room which was basic but you don’t need much. There was a clothes steamer which came in very handy!

The food was absolutely amazing. We had an evening meal, breakfast and a Sunday roast before we left. Make sure you try the roast, it was stunning.

The staff were so welcoming and accommodating, even giving us a lift to the wedding venue in their car!

We really thoroughly enjoyed our stay and know exactly where we will be staying when we come back in future.

Food was beautiful as was service ! Rather disappointed 11 year old and no children’s Menu !! So paid the full price £18 for a roast Beef ! Beef was to under cooked for a child to eat ! Red not pink !! So in the end she ate Yorkshire pud and greens ! I do think that a child’s menu should be available on a Sunday, which is primarily a ‘ Family Day’ !!!!!
Also just to add 2 small bowls of veg between 5 adults was a little stingy !!
I reiterate again service and adult meals were beautiful

I visited today with 2 friends just for drinks. We were shown to a table and seated. 10 mins later we were asked what we would like to drink by a young girl. We ordered 3 coffees. 25 mins later I went to check on the coffees. I noticed a tray of coffees on the side and approached a male member of staff. He said he would sort the coffees. I did mention that the ones on the tray were probably cold by now. The same coffees were serve to our table and were cold. I explained to the female member of staff and she asked if we wanted replacement drinks which I agreed to. 10 mins later the coffee arrived.
We chose to visit for a drink today with a view to returning for a meal but after the service and cold coffee we won't be returning. The young girl seemed to be doing all the serving on her own and it wasn't the most welcoming of places which was a shame for a local pub

Lovely lovely place to stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. We arrived when there was a carol service next door and it was packed. But no problem, we were ushered in and shown our room. Happily stay again.

Had a excellent meal, the chicken, ham and mushroom pie 10/10 go for the creamed potatoes texture smooth.
The panna cotta was a perfect dessert set to perfection.
Coffee is also good double espresso full body.
The staff are friendly and attentive and the decor is nicely done with good artwork which is for sale.

Arrived in the rain and was met by a friendly lady who instantly showed me to a nice large room which was spotless. I noticed the quality bedding as well. My shower was sometimes hot and sometimes cool and tiny but enough of that because I was only in there 5 minutes before hoofing it down to the bar where I had 3 lovely pints whilst chatting to some interesting folk and the landlord. One great ploughman's and chips later and I was heading back up for a great sleep to leave at 06:30 next morning, before breakfast. I was happy and it was still raining !
