Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had an early work meeting in Sleaford, so decided to come down the day before and booked in to stay and for Sunday lunch.
The roast was delicious!
The bar was great for drinks and staff were very accommodating for our evening meal.
The room was great. Huge, comfortable bed, nice bed linen. Over bath shower (we’d requested a room with a bath) was hot and powerful.
Dual aspect windows with great soundproofing. The hotel is on a busy road and there was a function on downstairs, but we didn’t hear a thing.
Staff were great. Very helpful and professional.
Only downside was the patchy WiFi in the room, but we didn’t mention this, so I don’t know if this could have been improved.
I’d seen reviews elsewhere complaining about the screens that are up as Covid protection. As my partner is classed as clinically vulnerable, we found this to be very reassuring and good to see steps being taken to keep their staff safe.
Sleaford isn't our first choice of getaway location, but if we come again, we’d be very happy to stay here.

We stayed for 3 nights and had a very warm welcome on arrival from Megan who was friendly and efficient. The rooms were more than adequate and with the covid times we are in we were able to help ourselves to clean towels when needed breakfast was a full bag of goodies left at the door each evening more than enough for the hugriest. Lisa Sarah and Miguel who worked in the bar restaurant were all very professional very helpful and made us so welcome. We only had a short time there but have booked to go back in September and are really looking forward to seeing everyone again.

I love the Carre Arms, the food is always amazing, the staff are professional and very accommodating, the building is absolutely beautiful brimming with charm. There’s ample parking, delicious desserts, and very good ales and there’s often a pianist playing lovely background music. 10/10.

I have just completed a 3 night stay at this hotel. In my previous life as a touring coach driver staying in some “very basic” hotels, I have dreamed of staying in somewhere like the Carre Arms. It’s exceptional.
From the smiling friendly and helpful staff, to the clean well maintained room, to the excellent quality of the food and drink (they’re in the Camra Good Beer Guide, again), there is nothing to fault.
It’s a short walk from the railway station, and only a 5 minute walk to the town centre, yet the area surrounding the hotel is relatively quiet.
A relative called in for dinner on Monday, we were given the option of dining in the bar or the restaurant. A very varied menu is available, to suit all tastes.
An excellent continental self service breakfast is available, and a cooked breakfast also.
If only all hotels could be modelled on this one.

We found the outside of the Hotel, especially approaching it from the rear, where we parked, to be a little disappointing, it had a slightly tired, ready to be exploited, feel about it. Any misgivings resulting from the first impressions began to be dispelled as soon as we entered. The entrance hall was slightly dated, as I have found in many UK hotels during my travels, unlike some I have seen it was clean and clearly well maintained. We were greeted by a uniformed, polite and efficient member of staff who led us to our table, which was a reasonable size for our party (something sadly I can't always say). The service was discreet and efficient. The food was clearly freshly cooked and of a good standard. The only minor detraction, the price of soft drinks was surprisingly high. An enjoyable visit to an interesting venue serving good food. Happy to return.

i have visited this hotel on several occasions and found it to be excellent The owners have done an excellent job on keeping people safe during the pandemic and they are very friendly people. The hotel is a very attractive building with lots of nooks and crannies and a lovely conservatory full of plants and flowers. the place is spotlessly clean and food reasonably priced and varied .the staff are excellent as well
It has large private car park free of charge to residents
Also the location is excellent a 100 yards from train station and main street making trips to other places like skegness and lincoln easy and cheap
will be back soon

Stayed here as we used to live in Sleaford some 37 years ago and we came up to have a weekend in honour of my late mother. The staff were friendly and a special shout out must go to the main receptionist. She was very thoughtful explained the layout of hotel and the restrictions in place due to COVID-19 and never did we feel under threat.

Stayed for two nights. From the moment we walked through the door and received a friendly welcome from the staff in reception, we cannot praise the Carre Arms enough.
Every member of the staff were professional, friendly and made us feel comfortable. Rooms were clean and quiet so we enjoyed a restful nights sleep.
We enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant on both nights and would particularly recommend the haddock and chips, delicious!
It was refreshing to see the owners taking the time to mingle with patrons both in the bar and restaurant. Well done and thank you to everyone at the Carre Arms!

The best welcome ever, warm, friendly and accommodating. Overnight stay visiting Sleaford Town Crier competition, arrived too early to check in but was able to park my car in the car park -£2.50 until 3pm as after that it was free as a resident. Short easy walk into the town centre.
My room was clean and suited what I needed. Slept ok, mattress a bit too hard for me, but that is personal taste.
Continental breakfast, wi-if and parking included in the price of £90.
Will use this place again.

Big shout out to the Carre Arms for absolutely saving the day!! After a very anxious and uncertain few months the hotel gave our daughter and her new husband an amazing day to remember. At very short notice they quickly planned a reception for 30 people. The room looked beautiful, the food was excellent and the staff could not have been any more attentive or helpful. Plenty of lovely photo opportunities too!! Amid all the anxiety approaching the day, Lisa remained calm and reassuring. Seeing the new Mr and Mrs Hyem enjoying their wedding day so much was just wonderful. Thank you so much!
