Beautiful building, inside and out, and plenty of parking space. We ate in the small bar, but the restaurant is large. The fires were lit which felt welcoming.
Menu was good as was the food, although a little on the bland side. I had sweet chilli prawns to start but completely forgot the prawns were supposed to be cooked in sweet chilli as I hadn’t tasted it. However, they were nice.
Service could have been more professional. The bar and restaurant menus were identical as were the prices so I would have expected the same service. When the waitresses realised we had ordered starters, she plonked all the cutlery and napkins in the middle of the table as though we were in a cheap cafe. The bottle of wine was also plonked on the table so we had to open and pour it ourselves. The bread for four people was placed in front of one of us rather than on the table and, when we asked for water, a jug arrived but no glasses.
That said, we had a lovely evening and would definitely return.

We first came to The Finch Hatton on their opening day, I must say they were running absolutely brilliantly for their opening day. For new business owners taking over a poor reputation they are doing fantastic.

We have then actually visited The Finch on more than one occasion ( Easily 5/6 times in less than 2 weeks!) every single time we have been greeted and served with complete professionalism! At the slightest discrepancy, they are very adherent and accommodating!

The food is fantastic! Absolutely worth the price! Not typical pub grub at all, so if that’s what you’re looking for then this is not the place as their food is occasion worthy in every sense. If you’re looking for a beautifully prepared and tasting meal (or afternoon tea) to treat a loved one, a family dinner, a celebration, to treat yourself or to enjoy with friends then the Finch is your place!!

Their private garden around the back is the perfect place to enjoy a drink.

We honestly could not be more impressed with the Finch! We have met the new owners and they are fantastic! If you haven’t tried it! Definitely do!

We wish them all of the luck and success in the world! We look forwards to making many memories with you.

Stayed with friends overnight while visiting Tattershall and BoBMF . Have to say all the staff were kind and accommodating. Rooms were reasonably comfortable, but thin walls and noise in next rooms and outside in the hallway was rather loud as a result. Do feel that the exec rooms are a little over priced. Spacious but very simply furnished; no chairs to sit in etc. Slightly more upmarket than a Premier Inn room, but only just !
Food and drink the highlights of Finch Hatton. Excellent choice of beers, wines, spirits and option of either the cosy bar or outside chairs and tables overlooking the quiet little village. Food choice and quality superb and great vfm . Both the fish and belly pork were cooked to perfection with a lovely bowl of fresh veggies to tuck into. Sweets high quality and some quirky flavours of home made ice cream. Breakfast in separate room was of good quality too.
In all, a good choice for a one overnight stay.

Paper thin walls, so bring your ear plugs, you can hear people rolling over in bed next door, not to mention the snoring, talking and more. Not sleeping well here.

Breakfast is not until 8am so if you are an early bird and travelling for business, this place won’t be for you.

The room and communal areas were clean and well decorated. I didn’t have a chance to eat, so I can’t review that

On arrival we were happy with our choice. But no signs of where reception was so walked through front door only to be told to go back and enter the reception correctly! Then was told room number and left on our own which is fine! When we got to our room it was rather cramp for 3 ppl for a weekend but thought nothing more of it, we then went down to the bar to book a table for evening meal, once seated no children's menu so I had to go ask and was told what ever I wanted they will sort which I couldn't make my mind up at first as them being lazy with the menu or helpful but I put as lazy as during this conversation no eye contact and he stayed chatting to his friend! I ordered Ribs was told yes definitely gluten free (I can assure you they weren't as I was unwell most of the evening) at £19 and that apart from something else was the only gluten free so I was a tad stuck on choice! I was told via phone call they had gluten free breakfast options so I was happy to see hear that only to find on the day it was only 1 box of cereal. We had to wait 10 mins for someone to take our orders and seeing as we were the only guests that's pretty shocking! That evening we returned only to find we had no heating in our room we went down and asked what had happened only to be told it goes on at 5.30pm each day I find this rather shocking when they have guests for the whole weekend and it's January the heating is on a timer! And the shower it drips constantly and the lights in the ceiling leak also! On the 2nd night bearing in mind we was the only residents they had another couple stay and put them next door to us and his voice was like a fog Horn! And with paper thin walls it was a late night and a very early started! We paid alot of money for this stay now I wish we had gone to Premier Inn.

Stayed here with my in-laws and the dog whilst visiting my partner at Cranwell. Even before arriving and the uncertainty with COVID/changed plans, the team were able to cater to my changing room size/no of people coming. We dined at the pub both nights, beautiful open fire and nice buzz around the place. The breakfast included with the room was also a great way to start the day. Rooms nicely decorated, a good size and comfortable bed. Would not hesitate to stay/eat here again!

I have been staying at the Finch Hatton since March due to work commitments. Up until now I have had a reasonable stay. However over breakfast in front of other guests I was asked by the kitchen staff if I had taken a towel ( a big towel) last week.
Horrified by this I said I hadn't. The conversation carried on in front of guests who were all listening.

I understand if they felt the need to ask me however Staff could have called me on my phone, or whist checking in the day before mentioned it then.

Also why after coming to the hotel since March each week I would decide to take a towel that hundreds of guests / strangers have used and try and stuff it in my small overnight case. I was obviously horrified at this and the lack of professionalism by the staff.

I since wrote an email to Flinch Hatton to explain what had happened and to cancel furfure bookings.
My complaint was NOT acknowledged or an apology given for how I was indigitated at breakfast in front of other guests as a regular customer.. they just acknowledged cancellation of future bookings.

A note to anyone that is staying I would take a picture of your towels left behind or better still bring them down to breakfast so you can be ahead of the humiliation and count the towels for the kitchen staff before you eat!!

The Finch Hatton Arms is described as a country house hotel and the pictures avoid showing any surrounding buildings, it is actually in the middle of a built up area, allbeit a pleasant built up area. Exceptionally clean hotel. Hotel has wooden floors which are very noisy at night. Greeted by a very helpful and efficient member of staff. Very nice linen and towels. Nice bar. Restaurant tables are too high for the chairs. Dinner OK. Breakfast service was poor, my wife asked for poached egg on toast which was poached egg next to part toasted bread, I asked for bacon mushrooms and toast (not on menu but elements of the Full English) I was given one mushroom and two miserable bits of bacon and told to make my own toast, the toaster did not work properly, serve yourself coffee from pots which were luke warm. We had booked a double room but were given a family room which had a large bunk bed in it making the small room rather cramped and the double bed was a small one.

The trip was for a family wedding nearby and a birthday celebration. We were given a warm welcome. The rooms were were very clean and tastefully decorated. The service we received throughout our three night stay was excellent by all the staff and all our group agreed. The bar and restaurant were very pleasant areas with a good selection of ales and fine food. Breakfast consisted of quality bacon and sausages. What my wife and I particularly liked was the understated aura of the place, the decoration, the drinking glasses, cutlery and serving dishes were all quality without being 'posh'. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Sunday lunch at The Finch Hatton. Booked this for a family birthday and were very much looking forward to the nice setting as shown on the website. However, we were placed in the (breakfast) room at the back (no pictures on the website) which has the feel of a roadside cafe. Food was good, staff were courteous, setting was very disappointing. We heard that there was a function in the main dining room, but were not told this on booking.

They used to do Cooked breakfast, but the second time I stayed there I got told that it was only cereal as the chef had not turned up, but the other respondent seems to suggest this has become the norm...not good after such a good first visit and review
