Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice clean room and good bathroom all freshly decorated. Had a good stay although we stayed in room 5 which every 5 minutes had a loud humming noise coming through the wall of the bathroom area and kept us awake all night. Breakfast was superb - staff friendly and helpful. Would stay again

The room was lovely and clean and we were provided with plenty of tea and coffee to make cuppa's. Beds were nice and comfy and slept well except for a little traffic noise. The window could do with looking at cracked pane on the outer window. The wet room was clean and the towels fluffy. The food in the restaurant was good and our quirky orders for breakfast were delivered without fuss. Very very good service.
We will be returning next year.

Great place to stay. We stayed here for two nights whilst attending a family funeral. The hotel is old and quirky however spotless and very welcoming. Great breakfast and a very reasonable restaurant for lunch or dinner with some great offers. The bar is again very friendly with great staff like the hotel and restaurant

Will gladly stay here again

Lovely clean and comfortable rooms. The beds were extremely comfortable. We had breakfast which was really good and made to order. The staff couldn't be more helpful and whilst we didn't use the bar it had a great vibe. Would definitely recommend staying and eating here.

As the saying goes, you pay your money and you take your chance. As with all hotels you really don't know what to expect but in this case, our expectations were realised and then some. Lovely rooms, staff who are very friendly and helpful, even to the point of helping us out in our hour of need when a taxi could not be obtained. Add to this an excellent full English breakfast to round off our stay and I think we can safely say, we had a fantastic stay at the Marquis of Granby. Once again, to the staff, a thousand thankyou's.

Lovely Inn, the staff friendly and helpful, car parking was definatley a bonus. The room had everything you would need from TV to ample tea making facilities. Food was homey and as for breakfast - hot, tasty and filing! I would definately come back because not only was the price of the room and food great but the staff was welcoming.

My son stayed here for one night. The room was spotless and cozy. The service and food were excellent. Free parking overnight and free wifi. It had everything he needed for a very comfortable one night stay. Thanks very much to the friendly team at the Marquis of Granby.

I should warn you this review contains my first experience of seeing a ghost.

Checked in just after 2pm for B&B on a Friday for one night in this historic Lincolnshire market town. Plenty of free parking round the back of the pub and business was good in the bar.

I was asked to pay £40 on arrival and was then shown up to the room. Both it and the adjoining bathroom was clean and the bed/linen comfortable and of a good quality. All the usual facilities were there barring a hair dryer which I couldn't find.

I went out for the afternoon and evening, returning around 9pm. After a long day driving and working it wasn't soon before I was in bed watching the wall mounted TV and had the light out by 10.

There are two big problems for anyone staying at The Marquis Of Granby. One is the jukebox in the bar. It played loudly all evening. I detected a decrease of volume after midnight but it continued well after it should have when guests are above.

When the management know they have guests booked into rooms above the bar, they should make sure the music is OFF by eleven.

The other I had not expected.

I was lying on my side when I became aware of someone standing behind me and looking over. A man with long hair. I sensed no animosity towards me, just curiosity. I turned over to face him in confusion. He then seemed to know he'd startled me and left. He did leave through the door. But without opening it.

This rattled me to say the least and I spent several sleepless hours with the light on before finally braving the darkness again.

The next morning I was the only guest having breakfast. I had the full English and it was excellent. With a decent wifi connection on my phone I googled haunted buildings in Lincolnshire and discovered this one has a ghostly horseman.

I'd recommend this pub to stay. Just don't do it alone. And bring some earplugs.

We have eaten here twice now and both times the meal was perfect. The 12oz rib eye was cooked exactly to our liking at a very reasonable price. We rang up last minute on Saturday night and even though the restaurant was fully booked, Alex the chef, said if we're happy to eat in the snug in the bar he'd feed us.I had the steak & ribs -, £8.50! and my husband had the rib eye with peppercorn sauce again, both meals were fantastic. The service of the staff was friendly and very quick. We've already decided to book a table with friends next month for my birthday as I know we will not be disappointed eating here and it doesn't break the bank. Definitely one of the best places to eat in Sleaford.
