We had a most enjoyable stay night at Winteringham Fields (see separate review of food), with 6 of us - 2 grandparents and a family of 4 (2 adults, plus 15 and 12 year old kids) in the Wintra and Burkhill Suites. Both rooms were nicely appointed, although it didn't seem that the bathroom towel rail in Wintra could be turned off or down so the room was rather on the warm side. Burkhill was particularly spacious with a separate lounge and dressing room with the former having 2 single beds added to accommodate the children. There were some nice touches of home made biscuits on arrival and high quality toiletries to add to the luxury feel. If you're eating in the fantastic restaurant here there's probably cheaper places to rest your head, but it's nice to be able to retire to your room after a digestif without having to get a taxi or drive somewhere else which for me makes the premium worthwhile to complete the experience.

Good morning, Thank you very much for your review we are very happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. Regarding the towel rail in the Wintra room, our plumber is waiting for some parts so that he can fit a thermostat on to the rail which will then hopefully allow the rail to reach temperature then cool so that the bathroom is then not too warm. I have chased him again today so that hopefully we can sort this. I hope that it did not spoil your overall experience of Winteringham Fields, we very much hope to see you again soon. Kind regards Janet Newton Reservations & Events Manager

We stayed for 1 night in the main building after trying the tasting menu. The room was spacious with a modern bathroom and a small walk in wardrobe area. The room was quirky with low beams and a sloping floor. The bed was very comfortable. In line with most hotels the room was far too warm even after we had turned the radiator off and opened the window. We had continental breakfast which was ordered the night before and brought to our table. There was a small box of chocolates in the room which we thought was nice touch which was then lost when it appeared as a £10 charge on the bill. For future visits we would choose one of the courtyard rooms with balconies. The outside seating area looked very inviting and would be great on a summer's evening.

I have been writing reviews on Trip Advisor since 2010 and have posted 39, this is my 40th and is the most difficult so far as I find Winteringham Fields a class of its own. Unlike others who have written reviews, this is the only Michelin Star restaurant that I have had the pleasure to dine at although it is my third time here, the other two occasions a few years ago when Germain Schwab was the owner and Chef. The dictionary defines a connoisseur as a person with great knowledge of good food and drink. I cannot profess to be that but I am lover of good food, good wine, nice ambience and classic service. This restaurant delivers that in spades.

I have been involved in catering all my working life. On one occasion I brought my Restaurant Manager and Head Chef here, not to show them how we should do it but to show them how good it can get with pure professional dedication. I would certainly do the same thing again.

We came last Friday evening as a table of four and took the eight course Surprise Menu with the full wine package. We were not a very straightforward table to serve consisting of one vegetarian, one pescatarian and one that does not like crustaceans. However, that seemed not to be a problem at all. Food was brilliant, wine beautiful and the service faultless. With its Michelin fame you might expect the restaurant to be a little bit intimidating and aloof but this could not be further from the truth. The staff, whilst being utterly professional, retain a very friendly and welcoming manner. I will say no more, it is not just a meal it is a gastronomic event and anyone who really does appreciate how good fine cuisine and service can get needs to give it a go. Thank you once again Winteingham Fields, I just wish I could afford it more often. I do not mean that disrespectfully, in this life you get what you pay for and your restaurant is worth every penny!

Had dinner and stay over
Staff very pleasant and made you welcome!
Dinner was very good ! Portions very generous and good service
Atmosphere very pleasant
We were upgraded to a deluxe room at no extra cost - it was my partner’s birthday!
Room very spacious good facilities and good hot water supplied so you could just relax in the bath! Or enjoy a hot shower!
However, I would like to mention that there was a notice about taking away products and a fine would Be added to your account… it looked a bit too harsh to me!… however I understood the possible frustration …
Would visit again but suggest that breakfast should cater equally for meat and non meat lovers! It would be nice to have cereals fresh fruit and different cheeses on the breakfast menu… we did have a nice breakfast after requesting it in the night before!
Thanks for making us feeling so welcome

As a family we had not been together for almost a year as our three children all live away, we decided to have lunch here as we had not been in a long time. It was a perfect choice as we had a lot of catching up to do and we were allocated a private dining room where we could just chill out and relax.
The staff were all very friendly and the level of service was second to non, the food was absolutely superb and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience! After our meal we were presented with a lovely printed menu with the courses we had been served as a take home momento , a very nice touch.
All in all a fantastic afternoon and highly recommended!
Many Thanks

Writing this review on behalf of my mother & aunty who visited the restaurant on Friday evening 28th March. I had booked this restaurant along with my sister, for them as a Christmas gift.

From dropping them off at the Reception area where they were given a warm genuine welcome - to picking them up 3.5hours later with beaming smiles on their faces, it was money well spent.

All the way home we were given detailed explanations of the delicious food they were given, outstanding service by all the staff, in particular a gentleman called Robert who was at their side whenever needed, took great care of them and explained well the different elements to the courses.

There had been a little apprehension prior to them attending the Restaurant, as it perhaps wasn't the type of culinary experience or formal evening they were use to - but the professionalism of every member of staff at the establishment ensured it was a fantastic evening, not stuffy or uncomfortable - just memories that will be cherished & hopefully one day to be repeated.

I booked the Valentine’s 8 course taster menu and overnight stay here for my husband and I.
It was superb!
The food was incredible and definitely deserves the Michelin star. The service was impeccable, so much attention to detail but yet friendly and warm. Each course was explained as the food was placed on the table. The service was exactly the right pace with an appropriate amount of time between each course. The decor and atmosphere were relaxing and very comfortable.
The bedroom was lovely, with all of the amenities you would expect, along with high quality touches and beautiful toiletries. We loved the little shortbread heart biscuits and the coffee machine supplied with fresh milk. The bed was also very comfortable.
A decadent and indulgent dinner and stay perfect for any special occasion. It was a most leisurely and highly enjoyable experience.

Our daughter had purchased vouchers for both of us to have a meal at Winteringham Fields as a Christmas present. Due to covid our first chance to pay a visit and make the 110-mile round trip was for lunch and their 6-course tasting menu in August this year. Well, what a gem! we were late arriving due to a traffic accident my wife rang to inform them of the delay and we were told not to worry (we were going to be about an hour late)
When we arrived we were greeted at the door and with no haste shown to our table. The surroundings were impeccable and the service was the same with chefs coming out to explain every course. The food to our taste was exquisite, we have had taster dishes before in Michelin stared resteraunts and not always enjoyed some of the dishes. A very pleasant experience all round and certainly worth our trip.
Well done all and not hesitating to recommend it to our friends.

The 8 course dinner with wine pairings was superb. We enjoyed every dish. The rooms are sumptuous and some have stunning views over the river. The mushroom linguine and wine and mackerel tartare pairings stood out for me. Then two desserts. Bliss!

Appreciated the warm welcome, efficient staff and comfortable ambience for a tasty lunch with paired wines. Each course was a surprise, although we collected the menu with the bill.

The dishes were beautifully presented, including the 'starter' with some special, rose fizz from Lincolnshire. One dish was perfect: the trout in a celery broth. Others were a little unbalanced, for example the wild garlic pesto overpowered the more delicate flavours of the parmesan and egg yolk; or left you wanting more than a bite of so, of the quali confit leg and crispy brassica.

Pleased the legendary cheese trolley from the days of Germain and Annie Schwab, has been retained. Delicious, international selection expertly explained. Again, given the local origin of many ingredients, more Lincolnshire or British cheese could be used.

What we missed most was the connection with the chefs, which is possible at other restaurants such as Sat Bains and Joro; and used to be there with the Schwabs.
