This site is well looked after and maintained. Plenty of pitches for caravans and tents set amongst beautiful scenery.
The owners are friendly and accommodating. It is meant to be a strict no noise after 10.30pm rule but some people in a nearby caravan unfortunately woke us at 2am screaming and shouting and slamming doors as they were drunk but guess that can happen anywhere and they soon quietened down.
It didn't ruin things though and the next morning we woke up in the morning frost, looking out at splendid views.
You have to pay 50p for a ten minute shower but it's totally worth it when you can tell that the money goes into the maintenance of the place. The toilet and showers blocks have underfloor heating and are pristine so certainly didn't mind paying for the shower in that case.
We have added it to the list and may well visit again next time we are in the area.

Very clean and well run site, after some slight confusion on arrival about our party being placed together the gentleman managed to re-jig things and put us together.

He stated that we should mention this at the time of booking, however hadn't come across that point on their website. The slots are allocated when booked so you can't just book and all pitch up together.

However he worked it well for us in the end so no complaints.

Toilets clean, can buy wood and a fire (£10) for the stay

Electric hook up works fine, quite road, washing and shower facilities all cleaned often.

Good ground so although it's been wet all weekend the ground hasn't become sludgy.

I would definatly recommend this site and even visit again myself.

We really enjoyed this campsite - the facilities met our needs, the views and location wonderful, the lads running it were kind and helpful and worked hard to make the stay good for everyone.

There were plenty of opportunities to sanitise our hands - the bathrooms and loos were clean and every night there was the possibility to buy wood for a fire (the raised pits were lent free fo charge).

Really liked this site and will visit again!

I had previously stayed at Orcaber Farm about three years ago, when it was only just open. I remembered that the staff were friendly and the facilities were nice and clean. When I returned this year, it was clear to see that lots of improvements had been made. The campsite is now signposted, making it easier to find. The shower and toilet blocks have been upgraded and were possibly the cleanest facilities I've ever seen at a campsite, although it still costs 50p for a shower. The pitches are large, although my only criticism would be that there seems to be a limited number of pitches for tents, with there being far more pitches suitable for caravans. A particularly nice touch was that campsite offers firepits, with the only charge being for the fuel. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay at a pleasant campsite.

Amazing site and Gary is a fantastic host.
We stayed at Orcaber the first weekend in August with two other families for a weekend of walking and exploring. The pitches are a good size (large tent, car and trailer fitted fine). The facilities were immaculate, showers are 50p and you get 10 minutes, water was always hot and they have a great system in place, we didn’t queue for more than 5 minutes at any time.
There are picnic benches fitted around which you can bring up to your tent door, first come, first served basis. It was not over crowded at all, loads of space for the kids to play, they don’t have a park but they do have football nets in the middle of the big field and the kids made socially distanced friends over a game of footy 👍. They bring round free fire pits to your tent if you want one, kindling and logs are £5 a bag.
There was a loud party behind us, I slept through it but my friends husband laid awake from 2am until 5 am when another camper told them to shut up, when Gary came to collect the fire pit in the morning my friend told him about said noise, he immediately went and woke the party, and not so politely asked them to leave and never return, he even went as so far to ask them to apologise to their neighbours 👏
So if you’re looking for a site to sit up all night for a loud drinking party this isn’t the place for you. If on the other hand you’re looking for a site with immaculate facilities, wonderful views, and central for so many beautiful walks then this is your site!
We will definitely be returning 👍

Husband and I and our little dog stayed here in a campervan on a grass pitch for Friday and Saturday night.
We were offered a grass pitch as no hard-standing ones were available. We had an electric hook up and were given a pitch a short walk from the facilities. The toilets were plentiful and the pot washing facilities were great. We didn't use the showers so can't comment but others said they were great and well worth the 50p charge for 10 minutes.
The pitches were very close together and I was glad that we had a nice family next to us. I would have preferred the pitches slightly further apart especially as we were in a very large field but this is only a very minor point.
The staff were very professional when we arrived, and very friendly throughout. They came round early evening asking if we wanted a fire pit both nights. We took one on the second night and it was lovely. £5 for kindling and £5 for logs. Don't skip the kindling, it's necessary. They collect the fire pits again in the morning.
Apparently WiFi was available but we didn't use it as we actually had decent 4G signal.
On the Saturday we cycled into Austwick and Clapham for a pint in each.
We really enjoyed this site and would go again, and would recommend it to others.

Absolutely stunning scenery / views. Friendly and helpful staff. Free fire pits and very sturdy clean six seater picnic benches available (seems that there were more than enough for each pitch to have at least one and sometimes two). The weather was perfect during May 1/2 term, which always makes camping even better. We were situated in the top field which is on a slope but the great views more than compensated!
There are only two showers (50p charge) for quite a large campsite but they are the cleanest facilities I’ve ever used (been camping for years) and the additional portaloos were sturdy, large, very clean with quality toilet paper and paper towels (luxury for campers) - and very private. There is a new block under construction, which will house more showers.
There’s a football pitch on the main field for the children to use - appeared to be very friendly with the children including one another. Lots of campers had dogs.

Unfortunately our visit was dampened by a large party of inconsiderate campers. There was a very large group of friends / family (4-5 tents) that were very noisy, pitched in one corner of the top field playing loud music from late afternoon, shouting, swearing, drinking heavily with a couple of barking dogs. Even when spoken to by the owners after the curfew at around 11.40pm, they continued chatting and laughing into the early hours. Absolutely not the campsites fault but with large groups this can / does happen. This has not put me off visiting again but I would request a pitch on the main field, which appeared to be much quieter and friendlier.

Room Tip: Ask for the main field if possible as it is flat, nearer to the facilities and quieter.

Hi there, thank you very much for your lovely review. We are so glad you enjoyed our lovely scenery and also the beautiful weather we are having, it does make a huge difference!. The new toilet and shower block should be up and running very soon too. We are sorry your stay was marred with a few inconsiderate campers, we are very strict with unruly customers as a rule. If we are aware of the problem, we would have asked them to leave. We really do hope that you return again in the future. Many thanks Neil, Gaynor, Gary and Kelly.

Arrived on Friday evening after slightly getting lost but was greeted as soon as I drove onto the site by Kelly, very friendly and soon pointed out that my family had already arrived and thier locations on the site. She advised on where the toilet blocks, showers and washing up facilities were located and advised the manager (Gary) would show me to my pitch. We were allocated on pitch 105 which was a flat, grassy, spacious area with electric hook up. We could clearly see a new building block in the process of near completion for new showers, toilets, reception/shop which is due to be completed in the next several weeks and looks lovely already ! Site had some football goal post which was an instant hit with the children and everyone on site were friendly and chatty. The views from the tent area over the hills was simply stunning and there are super walks in local areas. Fire pits were free and a charge ( £6 for a large bag of kindling and logs) which were available from the chaps that drove frequently on the quads around site. The toilets and showers were lovely and clean and a charge of 50 pence (single coin) was in operation for the showers but 50p lasted approx 10 mins which is ample for a decent shower. We enjoyed our family camping trip so much we have booked for the end of July time. Looking forward to seeing you again ! 😀

Just returned from two nights at Orcaber Farm, turned up on Friday and booking in was swift and easy. Shown to our pitch which is plenty wide enough for tent and car parking alongside.

Ground is good and not rutted or boggy despite some wet weather. It was a busy weekend by the look of things but there were lots of open spaces for kids from other groups to play in. Facilities such as showers, toilets and washing areas were all cleaned and re-stocked regularly. There are also plenty of fire pits and benches (albeit they're first come first served) to relax of an evening.

Nice 20 minute walk to Austwick which is well worth prebooking a table to eat in the local pub.

The ladies and gents running the site were around all day, either cleaning, or helping campers and were happy to help with any problems, really approachable! On the first evening whilst on our way out a rather intoxicated chap tried to book in and was swiftly asked to leave as it was clear he would cause issues to the numerous families staying, which was nice to see that other customers were their first concern.

Would happily recommend to family and friends and hope to return again!

We stayed in on a big corner plot, 68, in July. The plot was in the top far end of the site and afforded views across the massive field. It was on a very slight slope but that didn't pose too much of an issue as we angled our tent slightly when pitching.

The facilities were clean and cleaned regularly throughout the day and evening. There are a number of portaloo toilets next to the main block, each with a sink. These were also as clean as the main block.

The site and staff were fantastic throughout our stay. Firepits brought round in the evening free to use, and we bought a bag of kindling and logs for £10 which lasted us for two nights. Loads of space for the kids to run around and enjoy the fresh air.

It was a short 10 minute drive into Settle where we picked up fish and chips and brought it back to the campsite.

This is a fantastic location to explore this side of North Yorkshire.
