On Sunday 23rd October we went back to this lovely welcoming Bed & Breakfast place for a few days R & R, with a couple of superb walks as well before one of our party had an extremely difficult operation. We had been before and the welcome was just as warm and friendly this time, like a big emotional hug....

Overnight stay at short notice at the end of the season. Wonderful welcome, very good accommodation and breakfast made it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Will certainly use again when in the area. If planning to eat at The Game Cock Inn early booking is definitely advisable

Loved this B&B! Sue and David are marvellous, natural hosts who made us welcome from the moment we stepped inside the front door. The house is absolutely gorgeous and we loved our huge room on the second floor, with its massive beam and comfortable window seat providing a lovely view. Breakfasts were very good and relaxed. The Game Cock Inn...

We stayed at Wood View for four nights on a trip to enjoy the fantastic road bicycling and hiking in the area. It was a perfect basecamp, and Austwick is a lovely village. The guest house is warm and comfortable, with spacious rooms and views, but what really makes this place wonderful is David and Sue Dewhirst. A warm welcome...

We stayed at the Wood View for six nights when visiting family in Austwick. We were made very welcome by Sue and Dave and what can we say, everything about this Bed & Breakfast is top class. The breakfast is everything you could wish for, home made bread made by Sue, freshly cooked food and lots to choose from. The...

Stayed overnight to enable my wife and I to savour the Gallic delights of the Game Cock Inn next door but one. We were allocated Room No.1 on the first floor which overlooks the Green. The bedroom consisted of one double bed, and a single. Two armchairs, table and window seat. Plenty of hot water. Efficient modern enclosed shower unit....

We have just spent 2 nights in this lovely part of the world and cannot fault the comfort and hospitality of the Woodview B&B. David and Sue are incredibly welcoming and David was very kind in coming to pick us up following an absolute drenching whilst out walking in the wind and rain! A lovely big room and a fantastic...

We've had the pleasure of staying here for many years, and it gets better and better. Sue and David are the kindest hosts. This year, we were greeted with"would you like a cup of tea?" , as usual, on arrival, and Sue produced the most delicious gluten free, home made chocolate brownie. She understands cross contamination, indeed, she's a great...

We’ve just returned from a 6-day stay at Woodview and already can’t wait to go back! David and Sue were absolutely wonderful: they made us feel very much at home right from the start, they were very attentive and always fun to chat with, and highly knowledgeable about where to go and what to do in and around the Dales...
